In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Create well in the center.

Into the well of the dry ingredients, pour in remaining ingredients: milk, melted butter, vanilla, and eggs. Whisk to incorporate and create a batter. If it seems too thick, add in an extra splash of milk.

Preheat Belgian waffle maker. Brush generously with melted butter and pour in about 1/2 cup batter into the center. Close and cook according to waffle maker instructions.

Repeat with remaining batter until all waffles have been cooked. Serve warm with berries, whipped cream, powdered sugar, maple syrup and/or butter.

Perfect Waffle Recipe

Preheat the waffle iron to the high heat setting.

In a medium bowl, mix the all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and kosher salt until thoroughly combined.

In another bowl, whisk the oil, milk, vanilla and eggs (or see Fluffy Waffles variation**). Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk gently until the batter is smooth.

Grease or butter your waffle iron. Add the batter (a little over 1 cup for a Belgian waffle maker or a little over 1/2 cup for a standard waffle maker) into the center of the waffle iron, then cook according to the waffle iron’s instructions until golden brown: about 3 to 4 minutes depending on your waffle iron. Remove the cooked waffles and place them on a parchment-lined or greased baking sheet without stacking. Make the waffles to order, or place cooked waffles in a 250°F oven to keep warm.

Cooked waffles can be frozen; place them in a plastic bag and remove the remaining air with a straw before sealing. To reheat, remove from the freezer and lightly toast in a toaster.

Cups All-Purpose Flour (see notes below)

Large Eggs (DIVIDED)

Warm your Waffle iron. If you can choose settings I recommend doing darker for a crispier waffle. In a large bowl whisk the flour, baking soda, salt, and  half the sugar then set aside.

Separate the egg yolks and whites. Melt the butter in a small bowl.

In a medium bowl whisk the milk, egg yolks and vanilla together. Stir in the melted butter.

Whip the egg whites and remaining sugar in a clean bowl until stiff peaks form.

Add the wet mixture to the dry and mix until almost combined, then fold in the egg whites.

Add about 1/3 cup of batter for each waffle. This will depend on the size of your waffle maker so feel free to experiment with amounts.

For the Waffles

Mix one cup of cold cream with a tablespoon of vanilla and two tablespoons of sugar until soft peaks form.  You can make your whipped cream more or less sweet and substitute the vanilla for bourbon, maple syrup or even orange blossom water.

These easy homemade Belgian waffles come together in no time at all and they result in crisp, beautifully bronzed waffles that are the perfect base for any of your favorite  toppings. The batter for these, quite literally, comes together in a few stirs.

When it comes to the milk, use whole milk (full-fat)— it works best here. If you’ve buttermilk, feel free to use that instead. I’d steer clear of the lemon / vinegar and milk substitute; it’s okay to use a powdered buttermilk substitute, however.

Oil is best for making these; butter just won’t cut it. If you’ve the time to make clarified butter, it works well here. For those of us that haven’t the time to do so for a batch of waffles, feel free to use any neutral-tasting oil. I used sunflower oil, but vegetable oil, canola, etc. would work well too. For a bit of flavor, coconut oil is a great option.

If you’re making a double batch, and want to keep your waffles warm, preheat the oven or toaster oven to 350ºF/ 180ºC and switch it off once it’s preheated. After that, make the waffles as per the directions and put them in the warm oven on a wire rack set on a rimmed baking sheet (avoid stacking them). I’ve also been known to put the cooked waffles straight onto the oven rack in the warm oven– whatever works best for you.

How To Make Mickey Mouse Waffles

Preheat waffle iron.

Place flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bowl, stir to combine.

Place egg whites into a medium mixing bowl, whisk continuously until stiff peaks form.

Place buttermilk, milk, melted butter, vanilla and egg yolks into a large bowl, whisk to combine then slowly stir into dry ingredients. Once combined, fold in egg whites until just combined.

Spoon batter into each Mickey shape filling close to top. Close lid and let cook until golden brown and crisp, about 1 1/2-2 minutes depending on the heat setting of your waffle iron. Remove hot waffles and place on cooling rack. Continue cooking waffles until all batter is used.

To prepare buttermilk syrup, place butter, sugar and buttermilk into a small saucepan. Stir until melted and comes to a low boil. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla. Syrup will foam up. Let sit aside and stir occasionally until foam has gone down.

To serve, place waffles onto serving plates, top with fruit of choice and drizzle with warm buttermilk syrup.

I used 1/2 the amount of everything (However I used 2 eggs And only 3/4 cup of  rice milk instead of buttermilk and skim milk). I also added cinnamon to the batter. These were absolutely delicious ! I came across this page on Instagram.
The waffles were fluffy and I was able to make about 15 with 1/2 the amount of batter mix :D

It is my second time using this recipe.
