Make Seasoning

Combine the spices for the Cajun seasoning in a bowl (smoked paprika, thyme, oregano, cumin, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper).

Season Salmon

Remove the skin from the salmon, then cut it into four equal-sized portions (if not already cut). Generously coat all sides of the fish in the prepared Cajun seasoning.

Chop Zucchini

Slice the zucchini into half-rounds and set aside.

Cook Salmon

Add the butter and cooking oil to a skillet and heat over medium-high. When the skillet is hot and the butter is melted and foaming, add the salmon pieces. Cook the salmon for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until a dark brown crust forms and the salmon is cooked through*.

Cook Zucchini

Remove the cooked fish to a clean plate. Add the sliced zucchini to the skillet in its place. Quickly sauté the zucchini in the residual butter and spices until it is tender. Serve the salmon and zucchini immediately.

remove skin from salmon fillets

pat dry salmon and liberally sprinkle blackening seasonings on top of each fillet. Press down gently on seasonings so they don't fall off

heat skillet

when skillet is hot carefully add olive oil and salmon, seasoning side down. Do not touch the salmon for 2 minutes (make sure to have the fan on)

after two minutes check the salmon by gently turning it over to see if you have enough color on the fish

saute the other side for 2 minutes then place salmon in a shallow baking dish with a little water in the bottom of the dish.

bake salmon for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees

place cream in a small sauce pan and heat to a light boil, reduce heat to simmer

add gorgonzola crumbles to sauce allowing them to melt into the cream

if sauce appears to thick add a few drops of water or additional cream

When Salmon is done spoon sauce over the middle of the fish and garnish with parsley and gorgonzola crumbles

Serve immediately and enjoy!

Pat the salmon filets dry and rub each filet with the homemade blackening seasoning.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. When the pan is hot add in salmon, blackening side down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Spoon the lime butter over the salmon and serve immediately.

Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl.

Here’s the deal, not only are these salmon burgers healthy and delicious, they’re also incredibly easy to prepare.&nbsp;

Blackened Salmon Burgers with Herbed Cream Cheese.

wild caught salmon (skin removed)

bread crumbs

Parmesan

dark brown sugar

cayenne (more or less adjust to your taste)

salt + pepper

smaller bagels or brioche burger buns (toasted)

Sliced avocado (grilled jalapenos + grilled pineapple, for topping (optional))

Microgreens (watercress + pickled red onion, for topping (optional))

cream cheese (softened)

basil (finely chopped)

teablespoons fresh dill (finely chopped)

parsley (finely chopped)

salt + pepper (to taste)

Add the salmon to the bowl of a food processor and pulse until it is finely chopped and similar in size to ground chicken. Alternately, you can chop the salmon very finely with a sharp knife.

Add the chopped salmon to a bowl with the Panko breadcrumbs, parmesan and olive oil. Mix with a spoon until just combined. Form into 4 equally sized burgers (or 2 large) burgers.

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt and pepper. Sprinkle both sides of the burgers generously with the seasoning mix.

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a tablespoon of olive oil. Cook burgers on each side until golden, about 3-4 minutes per side. Be gentle when flipping the burgers, as they are delicate.

Spread the bottom half of your toasted buns with the herbed cream cheese (recipe below). Top each bun with a salmon burger and then add your desired toppings. I highly recommend a slice of grilled pineapple! Add the top half of your bun. EAT!

Add the cream cheese to a mixing bowl and whip with an electric mix until light and fluffy, about 1 minute. Stir in the basil, dill, parsley and a pinch of salt + pepper. This can be made a few days in advance and kept in the fridge. Bring to room temperature before serving.

Place the salmon on a large plate, flesh-side up, and pat dry.

In a small bowl, stir together the paprika, brown sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, thyme and oregano.

Brush

In a separate small bowl, melt the butter. Brush the butter over the flesh-side of the salmon fillets, then sprinkle the flesh sides evenly with the spice mixture. Lightly pat the spices to adhere as needed.

Sear

Heat a large cast iron skillet or similar heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat (no need to add oil). Turn on the exhaust fan and open a window if things start to get smoky. Once the pan is completely hot (a droplet of water should dance on its surface), working quickly but gently, add the salmon fillets, one at a time, flesh-side down. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes without disturbing the fillets, until the surface is blackened (peek as little as possible so that the salmon gets a nice dark color), then carefully turn each piece of salmon over.

Cook

Continue cooking over medium heat, until the skin becomes crispy, and the fish is fully cooked through, about 5 to 6 additional minutes depending upon the thickness of your fillets. The fish should reach 145 degrees F on an instant read thermometer and flake easily with a fork at its thickest part.

Serve

Squeeze lemon over the salmon, then transfer the fillets to serving plates. Serve immediately with a sprinkle of fresh thyme and additional lemon wedges.

A fresh, flavorful pasta dish made with blackened salmon, tomato cream sauce, and fresh herbs. Serve this pasta with crusty bread for the perfect weeknight meal!

Blackened Salmon Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce

smoked paprika

black pepper

(16 ounces) dried linguine pasta

Atlantic salmon (skin removed)

olive oil (divided)

onion

cherry tomatoes

tomatoes

balsamic vinegar

sugar

salt and cracked black pepper

bresh basil leaves (chopped, plus more for garnish)

To a small bowl, add the paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, and thyme and stir together with a fork until combined. Set the blackening seasoning aside.

Cook the linguini in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, run cold water over it to stop the cooking process, and set it aside.

In a Dutch oven or large, deep skillet, heat one tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onions and cherry tomatoes and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the onions soften and the tomatoes begin to burst. Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Pour the crushed tomatoes into the pan and stir to combine. Lower the heat to medium and add the balsamic vinegar, sugar, and the other half of the blackening seasoning to the tomato sauce. Cook the sauce, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to come together and the sauce to reduce a bit. Taste the sauce and add more salt and pepper to taste if needed.

Transfer the salmon to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until a dark, charred crust forms on the outside. Carefully transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook the fish for an additional 5 minutes until cooked through. Set the salmon aside.

Stir the heavy cream into the tomato sauce and cook the sauce for another 2-3 minutes. Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the cooked pasta, chopped basil, and grated parmesan. Do not add all of the pasta at once as you may not need all of it, depending on the consistency of your sauce. I ended up with about a cup of pasta leftover.

Stir in the chopped basil and grated parmesan. Transfer the pasta to a serving dish and topped with pieces of flaked blackened salmon. You can tear large chunks of salmon with your hands and place them on top of the pasta. Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired. Enjoy!

Place salmon in a large bowl and spritz the salmon with oil.

Combine all the spices, from paprika to black pepper in a small bowl and mix. Rub all over the salmon.

Spray the basket with oil.

Place salmon in the air fryer basket and air fry 400F about 5 to 7 minutes, shaking halfway until the salmon is cooked through in the center and browned all over.

Serve with lemon wedges and fresh parsley.

For the salmon: Pour oil into 12-inch cast iron skillet, tilt pan to coat with oil. Heat pan over medium heat (monitor the oil while you prep the salmon don&#39;t let it over-heat, pull pan from heat if needed).

Season both sides of salmon fillets with salt and pepper.

In a mixing bowl whisk together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme and oregano. Sprinkle mixture evenly over tops of salmon fillets and spread evenly over to coat top surface.

Place salmon fillets in heated skillet, spice rubbed side facing downward. Let sear until blackened on bottom, about 3 minutes.

Flip salmon to opposite side and let cook until browned on bottom and just barely cooked through, about 3 minutes longer (if needed you can reduce burner temperature to medium-low if it&#39;s getting too dark on exterior before interior cooks through).

Remove salmon to serving plates, turn off heat for the pan.

For the sauce: While salmon is cooking mix together lime juice and honey in bowl (you can use now empty spice bowl).

Carefully pour chicken broth into pan pouring in from the edge (it will steam wildly from the residual heat of the pan so only pour from the edge).

Add lime mixture and butter, stir to melt butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste as needed.

Pour sauce over salmon fillets and serve right away garnished with parsley if desired.

Combine the Salmon Dill Sauce ingredients in a small bowl; stir to combine.  Taste and adjust any flavors, as necessary. Store in fridge. 

Combine blackened seasoning: paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, chipotle pepper, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper. 

Rub salmon all over with blackened seasoning

Drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil over seasoned salmon; rub into salmon. 

Bring a large cast iron skillet to medium-high heat.  Add 1 tablespoon of oil; swirl to coat the pan. 

Sear salmon (skin-side up) for approx. 1-3 minutes (or until there is a good char). 

Flip salmon over so skin side is down and place in the oven (middle rack and uncovered).

Let cook 10-14 minutes or until fully cooked (it should flake apart easily with a fork).*

Remove from oven and serve immediately with the Dill Sauce. 

This salmon is SO GOOD!! I cook my steaks &amp; chicken using this method with a cast iron skillet, not sure why I didn’t think to try salmon. Plus, the seasoning is great, it’s a winner!!

This is hands-down my favorite Wooden Skillet recipe! It’s easy to follow, the ingredients are simple, and it is DELICIOUS! The way the salmon crisps up in the oven gives those yummy Cajun spices just the right amount punch. Pair it with the creamy dill sauce and you’re set. So good.

This was really good - a bit too spicy for my (I’m a bit of a spice wimp) but my husband thought it was perfect! The dill sauce was an excellent addition! This will go in regular rotation! I served this with roasted butternut squash and green beans! 👩‍🍳
