Juicy Slow Cooker Boneless Turkey Breast

turkey breast

In a small bowl, soften the butter in the microwave for a few seconds if it&#x27;s not already soft (don&#x27;t completely melt it). Spread a little bit of the butter in the bottom of your slow cooker, then place the sliced onions in the slow cooker.

Remove the turkey breast from the packaging and discard any twine used for trussing, gravy inserts, etc. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. I like to place paper towels on a rimmed baking sheet, place the turkey breast on top, and pat the top dry.

To make the rub, add the kosher salt (2 teaspoons- see notes if using butterball or pre-brined turkey!), black pepper (1/2 teaspoon), garlic powder (1 teaspoon), dried oregano (1 teaspoon), dried thyme (1 teaspoon), paprika (1 teaspoon), and turmeric, if using (1/2 teaspoon) to the softened butter and stir together to form a paste.

Spread a little of the rub on the bottom of the turkey, then place it in the slow cooker. If the turkey comes with skin, lift it up gently and spread some of the rub under the skin. Place the skin back on top and spread the majority of the rub all over the top of the turkey breast evenly.

Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.

Optional: If you want crispy skin, place the turkey skin-side up on a rimmed baking sheet and broil for 5-10 minutes, or until the skin is crisped to your liking.

Allow to rest for 20 minutes before slicing.

Instant Pot Boneless Turkey Breast with Gravy Recipe

lb frozen boneless turkey breast

olive oil

poultry herb mix (sage, rosemary and thyme)

Start by setting the trivet in your Instant Pot. Add 1.5 cups of water to the stainless steel insert.

Run the frozen turkey breast under warm tap water to release the gravy packet. I never use the gravy that comes with turkey, so I discarded it.

In a small bowl, whisk together oil, paprika, herb mix, salt and pepper. Rub all over the turkey breast.

Set turkey breast on trivet and arrange veggies around it.

Set the Instant Pot to 55 minutes for a 3 lb turkey breast, on manual setting and high pressure. The Instant Pot will take about 8 minutes to come to pressure.

Once done, let the pressure release naturally, it may take about 12 minutes.

If you want to save on calories, remove the skin and slice the turkey breast to serve. You can also, pour a tablespoon of the juices from the bottom of the Instant Pot insert all over the cooked turkey breast and pop it under the broiler to crisp up the skin.

Once the turkey breast is out of the Instant Pot, measure out 2 cups of the pan drippings. You can cook it in the Instant Pot or on the stove in saucepan. Add 1/4 cup of water mixed with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. It will make a smooth and clear gravy. If using flour, use 3 tablespoons (add more if needed). The gravy will be cloudy.&nbsp;

Garlic Butter Boneless Turkey Breast

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Pour 1 cup of chicken broth, white wine, apple cider, or water into the bottom of your roasting pan.

Remove the boneless turkey breast from its packaging and place it on a large plate or a cutting board. Use paper towels to pat off any excess moisture.

In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, and sea salt until well-combined.

Rub the garlic butter mixture all over the outside of the turkey breast and place it on the roasting pan.

Bake for 25 minutes per pound (50 minutes for a 2 pound roast, 1 hour and 15 minutes for a 3 pound roast, etc.), or until the turkey breast reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the breast to check the internal temperature.

Remove the turkey breast from the oven, cover it with foil and allow it to rest for 15 to 20 minutes. This process allows the juices to distribute evenly throughout the breast, resulting in the most tender result. The breast will continue cooking during this time, and should reach the FDA approved 165 degrees F for safe consumption. If you’d like, you can spoon the juices from the bottom of the roasting pan over the turkey breast before covering it with foil and just before serving.

Slice the turkey breast into slices and serve with your choice of side dishes.

Combine 1/4 cup flour, poultry seasoning, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl.

Rub the melted butter all over the turkey, then rub the flour mixture all over the turkey. Pop it in your slow cooker.

Combine the remaining 1/4 cup flour with the chicken broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, parsley and the bay leaves in another bowl.

Arrange the onion, carrots and potatoes over and around the turkey.

Pour the chicken broth mixture over and around the turkey, cover up your slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours.

Take the turkey out and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing (you can also pull it apart into bite sized pieces the way we do – if you decide to do it that way, you don’t have to wait).  Return the turkey to the slow cooker and gently toss until everything is mixed well.

Traeger Smoked Turkey Breast Without Brine

Pre-heat the smoker on the &#39;smoke&#39; setting, which on a Traeger is about 150 °F   to 170 °F

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and brush onto the entire surface of the breast.  If you have a boneless breast with netting, leave the netting on.

Press seasoning onto the entire buttered breast

Preheat the oven to 450°F. Fit a rimmed roasting pan or baking sheet with a rack and spray the rack with avocado oil.

In a small bowl, mix the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and thyme.

Place the turkey breast on a work surface such as a cutting board. Pat it dry with paper towels. Brush it on both sides with the melted butter, then rub it on both sides with the spices.

Place the turkey skin side up on the prepared roasting rack. Spray its top with avocado oil. This helps protect the spices from burning.

Roast the turkey for 20 minutes. Loosely cover it with foil to protect the top from scorching, and continue roasting until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F, 30-40 more minutes. For a 2-pound split breast, the total roasting time will be 50-60 minutes (see notes below).

Remove the turkey from the oven. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes before slicing and serving.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

½ Tablespoon minced onion flakes

Spray the inside of the Crock Pot with nonstick cooking spray.

Slice the onions in half and place them face down on the bottom of the slow cooker. They will help hold the turkey up out of the liquid.

Add a few sprigs of thyme on the bottom.

Add the butter, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and rosemary to a small or medium-sized bowl and mix well.

Place the turkey in the slow cooker and dry off with some paper towels to help the butter stick.

Spread the butter over the top of the turkey.

Pour the chicken broth into the side of the Crock Pot, being careful not to pour it on the turkey.

Place the lid on top and cook for 7 hours on the low setting.

Once the turkey is done cooking, check the temperature with a meat thermometer. The temp should be at least 165 degrees in the thickest part of the turkey breast.

Place the turkey under the oven broiler for 5 to 10 minutes (in the crock only) until the top is crispy. (Watch it close; it can burn fast, and make sure you remove the Crock Pot lid).
