Very good base!  I added andouille and used Creole vs Cajun seasoning.  I used corn starch as replacement to flour as thickener.  Will reduce the amount broth to 3 cups next time since I want something thicker.

Cajun Shrimp Chowder Is The Best Comfort Food

Spicy Cajun Shrimp Skillet is a super fast (15 minute!) and healthy dinner recipe. We love to keep this low carb and serve it with cauliflower rice, but regular rice is delicious, too.

Spicy Shrimp Skillet 

lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined

sea salt

chili flakes

green bell peppers, diced small

small shallots, minced (about 1/3 cup)

tomato paste

stock

Sea salt and pepper,

Place the shrimp in a bowl and toss with the Cajun seasoning, oil, salt, and chili flakes. Set aside to marinate while you prep the veggies.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and sear for 2 minutes. Add the peppers and shallots to the pan then cook for 2 more minutes.

Push the shrimp to the side of the pan and add the tomato paste. Let the tomato paste caramelize for 2-3 minutes, or until it had darkened and is sweet smelling. Stir it into the shrimp.

Add the chicken or vegetable stock to the pan and stir. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

I stumbled on this because, frankly, I was searching for a shrimp recipe I could tolerate. It didn't even have to be great. Just decent. See, I'm not a big fan of seafood, but my husband loves it. On the nights we have cod and shrimp, he cooks, and I choke it down. He loves his one single recipe for cooking cod and shrimp, and it just doesn't pass the test for me. Anyway, since it's just the two of us, we only cook about 6 ounces of shrimp instead of a pound and a half. The first time I made this recipe, I adjusted it to account for such a small amount of shrimp. When I made it again this week, I used the full amount of seasoning and brushed some of it on two pieces of cod which I cooked separately. And all I can say is BRAVO! This is so much better than the decent and tolerable recipe I was looking for. I CRAVE it! Never have I ever had such good seafood at home! The first time I made it, I was sure I did something wrong because it really is so fast and easy, but I clearly hadn't missed any steps because it was an explosion of incredible flavors. Everything about this recipe is so perfect. Even the shallots were a great choice. When I couldn't find shallots in the past, I subbed regular onions. I considered it this time even though my local store had shallots available, but I decided to follow the recipe exactly and use them. The sweetness of them combined with the spicy Cajun seasoning is just incredible. I'm so thrilled to have found a seafood recipe my husband and I both like. Thank you so much for this!

Heat a 11 inch skillet on medium heat. When the skillet is hot, add butter. Let the butter melt and then stir in the garlic, paprika, lemon pepper and Cajun seasoning. Mix well.

Add in sausage, and stir to coat the sausage with the butter. Add shrimp and stir well.

Cook for 3-5 minutes until the shrimp has cooked through.

Add in hot sauce and lemon juice, and serve hot.

Buttery Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Recipe

Juicy and tender grilled cajun shrimp skewers are garlicky, lemony, and packed with flavour by the cajun marinade. Ready in under 30 minutes including prep. 

Grilled Cajun Shrimp Skewers

olive oil, divided

tablespoon lemon juice

garlic, minced

cajun spice (or Old Bay spice)

Italian seasoning

parsley, finely chopped

Use scissors to cut through the shell along the back of the prawns, and remove the shells. Rinse to remove the veins and pat dry with paper towel.

Add the prawns into a large bowl and add in a tablespoon olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cajun spice, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Shrimp are naturally quite flavourful on their own, so you do not need to over season them.

Toss to combine and fully coat the prawns with the marinade. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, up to 30 minutes.

Thread the marinated prawns onto skewers. Add 4 prawns on each skewer.

Lightly brush some olive oil over the grill pan. Preheat the grill over medium high heat for 3 minutes until the oil starts sizzling and shimmering. In a small bowl, combine remaining olive oil with finely chopped parsley. Set aside until ready to grill.

Place the skewers spaced evenly apart on the grill pan and grill for 3-4 minutes on each side or until the prawns turn completely orange. Brush the olive oil parsley mixture over the prawns during grilling.

Transfer to a plate and serve warm with some lemon wedges on the side. Sprinkle extra chopped parsley on top.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil; add the pasta and cook according to package directions.

While the pasta is cooking, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the onions and peppers and cook for 4-6 minutes or until softened. Season with 1 teaspoon of the Cajun seasoning.

Add the sausage and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.

Season the shrimp with the remaining teaspoon of Cajun seasoning and add them to the pan, cooking for 2-3 minutes or until pink and opaque.

Drain the pasta and return to the pot it cooked in. Turn the heat on medium high and add the cream and butter along with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until sauce has started to thicken. Stir in parmesan cheese.

Place the shrimp and sausage mixture on top of the pasta and sprinkle with parsley. Serve immediately.

These Easy Blackened Cajun Shrimp are so flavorful &amp; only take 10 minutes to make. You can eat them on their own or add them to your favorite salad or pasta.

Blackened Cajun Shrimp

garlic (pressed)

Start off by thawing out your shrimp and removing the shells. I like to leave the tail on but you can remove that as well if you want.

Now place the raw shrimp in a large bowl and mix it with olive oil, freshly pressed garlic, salt, onion powder, oregano, black pepper, and cayenne (optional).

Then melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook the shrimp a few minutes on both sides until they are pink and opaque. ￼

Serve warm with rice or make into it an Alfredo shrimp recipe with pasta and Alfredo sauce.

This one-pan meal features succulent shrimp cooked with potato gnocchi, spinach, and mushrooms in a spicy, creamy, cheesy sauce! Your family and guests will be requesting this dish again and again!

Creamy Cajun Shrimp and Gnocchi Skillet

baby spinach leaves

Salt and black pepper (to taste)

red pepper flakes

cheddar cheese (shredded)

parmesan cheese (shredded)

In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, italian seasoning, paprika, and cayenne pepper with a small whisk or fork and set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped mushrooms and onions and cook until veggies begin to soften, about 2-3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for about another minute, until garlic is fragrant.

Add butter to the skillet and cook until the butter is melted, stirring with a wooden spoon as needed. Add flour to the skillet and stir constantly with a wooden spoon to mix the flour into the butter. Continue to cook while stirring for about another minute to get rid of the raw flour taste.

Reduce the heat to medium and slowly pour the half and half or milk into the skillet while constantly stirring so that no lumps form. Continue to cook while stirring until sauce starts to thicken, about 2-3 minutes. Add chicken broth while stirring constantly to combine all ingredients. Add the cajun spice blend and continue to cook while stirring until sauce is thickened and smooth, about 3-5 minutes.

Add gnocchi and shrimp and stir everything to combine all ingredients. Continue to cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3-5 minutes. Add spinach and season with more salt and pepper to taste and red pepper flakes. Cook until spinach is wilted, about another minute or two. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in cheeses until melted. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and fresh chopped parsley and give everything one final stir.

Garnish with more fresh chopped parsley and grated parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.

This shrimp recipe is loaded with veggies and Cajun spice (you can make your own if you don't have a jar already!). We went with bell peppers, onions, and corn, but any stir-fry vegetable would work here.

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and bell peppers and sauté until tender, about 5  minutes. Stir in garlic and corn and cook for 1 minute more. Transfer vegetables to a bowl.

Add remaining 1 tablespoon&nbsp;oil to pan. Add shrimp in a single layer and season with salt, pepper and Cajun seasoning. Cook until pink, about 1 to&nbsp;2 minutes per side.

Add vegetables and lemon juice and toss until combined. Garnish with parsley before serving.

I used frozen black tiger shrimp, a simple Cajun spice recipe, added a jalapeño for extra heat and a can of diced tomatoes. I opted out on the corn because those extra carbohydrates are not needed for a diabetic. This turned out amazing!

Decent recipe and was easily modified for South Beach diet by omitting corn and adding chopped tomato.  Only advice: don't add salt until you have added and tasted it with your Cajun Seasoning.  Mine had plenty of salt in it and I ended up over-salting the dish...other flavors were good.  Could use a couple of dashes of hot sauce if you want to kick up the heat!  Thanks for the recipe!

Okay I am currently eating this and it is incredible! I did without the corn. I did onions, green peppers, and red peppers. I also added a little bit of onion powder and paprika. I already can’t wait to make this again! Delicious!

Loved this recipe ! I used a Cajun spice on the shrimp , Fire roasted frozen corn , and added jalapeño. I initially ate over rice but had the leftovers as a salad over spring mix with a lemon garlic dressing and tomatoes and it was amazing !!!!
