Easy Cheddar Cheese Sauce

Dijon mustard

Put the milk in a saucepan with the flour and butter.

Over a medium heat, whisk until the butter has melted and the flour has mixed in.

Once the sauce starts to thicken (2-3 minutes), remove from the heat and stir in the cheese and mustard.

Mix until the cheese has melted.

Keto Cheese Sauce | The Best, EASY To Make, Low Carb Cheese Sauce Recipe

Tbsps (28 grams) Butter

¼ Cup (60 milliliters) Heavy Cream

¼ Cup (60 milliliters) Unsweetened Almond Milk

½ Cups (168 grams) Cheddar Cheese

Add all of the ingredients to a small pot, and heat over low heat on the stove.

Stir often to work the ingredients into one another.

Once all of the ingredients combine into one another remove from the heat, and serve immediately.

Store leftovers in a tupperware container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Note: shred the cheddar yourself to save carbs. Store bought shredded cheddar usually has starch added to it, which adds carbs to the cheese.

My sauce did not thicken up. What did I do wrong? I used one block of cheese about 10 oz, 1/4 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk and 1/4 heavy cream. I kept it real low and cooked it for 8 minutes. It tasted great though!

In a medium size sauce pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the flour, while continuously stirring, until flour becomes fragrant and starts to turn lightly tan in color.

Keep stirring while slowly pouring in the milk. Continue to stir/whisk to remove any lumps. Add onion powder, salt and cayenne.

Once sauce begins to thicken, add the cheese and continue stirring until cheese is melted and blended. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Easy Cheese Sauce

Tablespoons butter

Tablespoons Flour

cheddar cheese (shredded, **See Notes)

Shred the cheddar cheese and set it aside, it should be at room temperature when you add it to the sauce.

Melt the butter over medium heat in a small saucepan.

Whisk in flour. Continue to whisk for 1-2 minutes, until you can no longer smell flour.

Slowly add the milk in splashes, whisking continuously as you do so. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low. Gradually sprinkle in the cheddar cheese, whisking constantly as you do so. Continue to whisk until the mixture is well-combined.
