This creamy tomato pasta is easy to make and super delicious. The flavorful sauce is made with fire-roasted tomatoes and just enough cream to make it silky and luxurious. It's the best 15-minute pasta recipe around!

Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain then toss with a little olive oil and set aside. 

While the pasta water is heating, begin the sauce. Melt the butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.

Increase the heat to medium-high then add the can of tomatoes, milk, cream, Italian seasoning, and if using, the chili flakes to the pan and bring to a simmer. Continue to simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Stir in the parmesan cheese and season to taste with salt and pepper. 

Add the cooked pasta and the basil leaves to the pan and toss to coat in the creamy tomato sauce.

Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce

300 grams/10 oz spaghetti

unsalted butter

garlic (, minced)

/ 125 ml milk (, low fat)

Cook pasta in a big pot of boiling water for time per packet MINUS 2 minutes. Just before draining, scoop out a mugful of pasta cooking water.

Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, cook until translucent - about 2 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients. Stir until parmesan is melted. Turn heat up slightly and simmer for 2 minutes. Adjust salt to taste.

Add pasta. Toss for 1 to 2 minutes or until sauce thickens and is clinging to pasta instead of swimming on the base of the skillet (video shows this well). Use reserved pasta cooking water if required to thin the sauce out if it gets too thick.

Serve immediately, garnished with more parmesan and parsley if desired.

Boil a large, salted pot of water for your pasta and cook it al dente according to package instructions.

Meanwhile (once the pasta starts to cook), add the butter to a skillet over medium-high heat. Once it melts, add the garlic and sauté for about a minute, stirring constantly.

Add in the tomato paste, tomato sauce, cream, and Italian seasoning. Stir until it&#039;s nice and smooth. Let the sauce cook for about 5 minutes or until it&#039;s thickened to your liking (it should be very gently bubbling, so you may need to turn down the heat).

Season the sauce with salt &amp; pepper as needed (I&#039;m pretty generous with both). If the sauce is a little too acidic/tangy for your liking, add in a pinch of sugar.

Drain the pasta and toss with the sauce (add a splash of hot pasta water if the sauce gets too thick). Serve immediately with plenty of parmesan cheese over top.

No-Cook Creamy Tomato Pasta

oz favorite pasta of choice

almonds

garlic

Bring the water to a boil, add salt, and cook your pasta al dente.

While the pasta is cooking, put the almonds in a blender or food processor and blend for a few seconds until you get something that resembles almond meal.

Add the tomatoes (if using vine tomatoes, cut them in half), extra-virgin olive oil, washed basil leaves, peeled garlic clove, capers, salt, and blend until you reach a smooth, creamy consistency. Taste and add more salt if needed.

Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and then put it back in the pan. Add the creamy sauce and mix for a couple of minutes on low heat until warm.

Add some parmesan on top (vegan or not) and some fresh basil leaves, and enjoy!

Bring a large salted pot of water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package directions to al dente. Reserve 3/4 cup of the pasta water.

In a pan over medium high heat, heat the vegan butter. Add the garlic, tomatoes and shiitake mushrooms, stirring together. Cook for about 5-6 minutes, until the mushrooms are sautéed down and the tomatoes are looking slightly wilted and ready to burst. Using your spatula or wooden spoon, gently press on each tomato to slightly burst it. Lower the heat to medium low and in the sea salt and the ground black pepper. Stir to combine.

Stir in the cream cheese, vegan parmesan and ¼ cup of the pasta water. Stir gently but swiftly to combine.

Add in the pasta, then the rest of the reserved pasta water ¼ cup of the time, stirring to combine and create a creamy sauce. The pasta will soak up most of the water, while thickening the sauce.

Taste the sauce and add more sea salt or black pepper if desired.

Turn off the heat, top with basil and drizzle the olive oil over. Serve the pasta with extra vegan parmesan on top. Enjoy!

We really enjoyed this tonight. I left out the "cream cheese" and pasta because I wanted a side dish without the extra carbs. The flavors were great and with the pasta and cream cheese it would have made an impressive main course. Thanks!

Each meal has been absolutely delicious, yet simple and foolproof. I think the mushrooms and the Parmesan are the secret ingredients that take this dish past expectations. I once added shallots to the initial pan and found a whole new flavour coming through. This has become a regular dish over here and thanks for posting it for us all to enjoy. Very yummy and always cleaned out pans before bedtime.

Absolutely delicious! I can never find vegan cream cheese in our supermarket so I did make my own. Also threw in some roasted garlic along with some fresh.  Great flavor, wonderfully creamy sauce! My husband is a picky eater and doesn't really like pasta...he LOVED this and requested it be added to our regular rotation! I also thought it was incredibly flavourful (I find so many creamy pastas are not). I added some kale, crispy prosciutto, and shredded chicken. I'm hopeful this might freeze well too!

I made this 2x already, so good and easy to make.

When you buy pre-shredded  cheese, it gets coated in a flour substance to prevent all the cheese from sticking together. This is why it's always best to grate/shred your cheese fresh if you have the time and patience. Hope this helps ☺️

I made this a few weeks and it is absolutely delicious.   I love sundried tomatoes and this is the very best recipe I have made using them.   The creaminess is Devine and the white wine essential.  I am making it again now.  I have shared the recipe with many.   We are adding this to our after Thanksgiving day list of meals

Great flavour! If using small Garlic double it. Don’t shy on the Basil and sun dried tomatoes. Followed the recipe exactly as is ( besides the extra garlic ) &amp; it is DELICIOUS! Definitely a new quick and easy staple in our cool book!

Delicious!  Added a little bit more garlic than the recipe called for and used whole wheat penne, plus a little spinach &amp; mushrooms.  Will definitely put this on the meatless Monday menu rotation.
