The Best Homemade Cornbread Recipe

Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or cast iron skillet well and set aside. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Whisk to combine well.

Make a well in the center of your dry ingredients and add your oil or butter, milk, and egg. Stir just until the mixture comes together and there are only a few lumps remaining.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is a deep golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cornbread recipe (creamed corn)

yellow cornmeal (, medium grind (Note 1))

flour ((plain / all purpose))

tbsp baking powder

white sugar

tsp salt

creamed corn

melted butter (, unsalted)

Place a 26cm/10&quot; castiron skillet in the oven and preheat to 220C / 425F while making the batter.

Place the Dry Ingredients in a bowl and mix.

Place Wet ingredients in a separate bowl and mix until combined.

Pour Wet into the Dry ingredients, mix until combined.

Take the skillet out of the oven. Add the 1 tbsp of butter and swirl it around to coat the base and halfway up the sides (or use a brush to do this)

Pour the batter in, smooth surface.

Turn oven down to 190°C/375°F, then bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is light golden brown and a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean (or when you poke the top, it springs back).

Cool 15 minutes in the skilet before tunring out onto serving platter or cutting board.

Best served warm! It can be served in the skillet or turned out. Serve with butter and honey as well, to take it over the top!

Rosemary Cornbread

all-purpose flour (125 grams)

cornmeal (125 grams)

teaspoon baking powder

teaspoon baking soda

teaspoon salt

fresh rosemary, finely chopped

milk (240 grams)

vegetable oil

brown sugar

maple syrup (optional, for serving)

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking pan with some vegetable oil and set it aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, salt and rosemary. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, egg, and brown sugar, until smooth and the sugar is dissolved.

Pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture. Stir with a silicone spatula to combine until no dry flour is visible in the bowl. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl with the spatula. Do not overmix. The mixture will be fairly wet.

Pour the mixture into the baking pan. Tap the pan to release some trapped air bubbles, if any. Transfer the pan into the oven and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.

Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool for 15 minutes before serving. Slice and serve with a drizzle of maple syrup (optional).

I will never make cornbread with jiffy again!! This is easy, fast to put together and delicious. As an addition I melted a pat or two of butter in a cast iron skillet and then poured in the mix.

I swapped the all purpose flour with oat flour and the bread is tasty but not hard, it crumbles :/

The cornbread was crumbly because your binding agent which is the egg didn’t mix well with the rest of the batter. I’m not sure why the recipe doesn’t specify to beat the egg first before pouring in the mix. This really helps with crumbly texture and makes the cornbread more solid. Also wait atleast 20 min after cornbread is taken out of the oven before you cut it. These two tips should do the trick

I made mini muffins with this recipe, baked 11 minutes and omg!!!! They're were amazing.

Excellent cornbread, baked in a small pyrex pan. I reduced sugar to 1/2 cup, salt to 1/2 tsp and still tasted great. I beat the egg lightly before adding, which might help with folks' "crumbly" issues.

Very good flavor to this cornbread!  I used extra virgin olive oil for my neutral oil, was almost out of butter or I'd used that instead. Other than that I pre heated my.glass baking pan with a tablespoon or so of olive oil and with about four tablespoons of cornmeal. Love the crusty bottom this adds!  Other than that I followed the recipe. Was in the crumbly side... Do you think an extra egg might remedy this?  Still much better than my normal cornbread!!

I tried this recipe . like some of the others persons. I used muffin tin to do mine. I also beat my egg . I used oat milk and ordinary sugar but reduced the amount of sugar. I also used only 3 teaspoons BP.. The muffins came out. Well let this recipe be my go for corn bread

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Season the deveined, butterflied shrimp with a mix of olive oil, smoked paprika, Old Bay, garlic powder, onion powder, dried herbs, and pepper.

In a separate bowl, create the filling by combining lump or claw crab meat (optional), cooked and strained spinach, chopped artichokes, mayo, breadcrumbs, cheese of choice, minced garlic, garlic powder, dried herbs, and garlic salt.

Fill each butterflied shrimp with the prepared stuffing mixture.

Bake until the shrimp are cooked through and the stuffing is golden and bubbly.

Serve and savor the deliciousness of your homemade stuffed shrimp!

Delicious honey butter cornbread perfect for everyday, and all the time!

Honey Butter Cornbread

all purpose flour

creamed corn (15 oz)

tbsp honey

tbsp butter

In a small saucepan, melt butter, and slowly add in the honey. Mix and remove from heat. You can also use a microwave.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and grease your cast iron skillet or baking pan

In a medium bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, mix the milk, creamed corn, oil, and eggs until well combined.

Make a well in the dry ingredients (create a small hole), then slowly add the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until blended.

Pour into a greased 13x9 pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. After 20 minutes in the oven, Brush a layer of honey butter, and continue to cook. Your cornbread is ready if you insert a wooden pick in the center comes out clean.

Rest until cool  before serving. Serve with more honey butter.

Wrap in an airtight container. Enjoy and use whenever needed

I’ve never rated any recipe online, but THIS ONE……. I made it for the first time for thanksgiving and fooled the whole family into thinking I was a real chef. I was a little skeptical when I first mixed this together as it seems a bit runny and I thought it may need more flour, and I’ve never baked muffins at 400 degrees , so I put a test batch in the oven… as I was making muffins it only took 18-20 mins. to bake… wow was I ever wrong! Best batch of corn muffins I have ever made! The only thing I changed was I added a 1/4 cup of honey directly into the mixture before baking so as to infuse the honey into the muffins:) Well done Toni! Gonna have them with my homemade Split Pea and ham soup with barley for dinner… I’ll be trying out a few of your other recipes soon!:)
