Crispy fried pizzas that are light, airy, and the perfect combination of crispy/chewy. It is the ABSOLUTE BEST way to make amazing, restaurant-level pizza at home!

Life-Changing Crispy Fried Pizzas

pizza dough (we use DeLallo! it is THE best.)

oil for frying (vegetable or canola is best)

tomato sauce of choice

mozzarella cheese

basil

red pepper flakes

Parmesan cheese

Make the dough: 

Make the pizza dough according to package directions. Let the dough rise (for DeLallo pizza dough, the rise time is 45 minutes).

Shape the dough

Divide the pizza dough into 6 sections. Roll each into a ball and flatten into a pizza shape (mine were about 6-8 inches in diameter and about 1/2 inch thick around the outside).

Prep the oil: 

Heat a large cast iron skillet with oil (about 1 inch deep). Turn the heat to medium/low. Test the oil by dropping a speck of water in it &#8211; when it sizzles or bubbles, then the oil is ready.

Fry the pizza dough

Working one at a time, gently place the pizzas into the oil and fry for 30 seconds to 1 minute until light golden brown. Flip with tongs and repeat on the other side. Transfer to a paper towel lined pan to cool.

Finish in the oven: 

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Spread each pizza with sauce, cheese, and any other toppings you want. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Top with fresh basil, pesto, or anything else you want and serve warm. And then enjoy those puffy, crispy, personal-pan-sized bites of pizza crust! YUMMMMM.

Fried Pizza!! Ah I first tried it in Naples, Italy- our taxi driver suggested we have some and I thought he was having a laugh but he insisted. It was sooo good! I love that you have a recipe here for it, gotta get the girls from that trip together and make this!

What could be more delicious than fried pizza? Fried pizza with creamy, spreadable squacquerone cheese and sweet prosciutto. It doesn't get much better than this. 

Fried Pizza With Prosciutto and Squacquerone Cheese

1/2CUP squacquerone cheese

prosciutto

oranges

peanut oil

salt

4CUPS all-purpose flour

2TSP. salt

1/6OZ. fresh brewer's yeast

Dissolve brewer’s yeast in 1 1/2 cups room-temperature water and add half the flour. Mix quickly, cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 30 minutes. Add the remaining flour and knead vigorously for at least 10 minutes. Add the salt and knead again. Shape into a ball and place in a bowl covered with plastic wrap. Let rest in the refrigerator for 24 hours.&nbsp;

Remove the dough from the refrigerator and let rest at room temperature for 2 hours.&nbsp;

Divide dough into 1- 1 1/2 oz. balls. Place on a floured surface and let rest for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, bring peanut oil to 350°F in a frying pan. Add dough and fry until golden in color. Drain on a paper towel and sprinkle with salt. Serve with prosciutto and squacquerone. Garnish with orange zest.

Easy Italian Frittelle

Pillsbury biscuit dough

sugar

cinnamon

Vegetable oil,

Chocolate sauce. for drizzling *optional*

Preheat 2" of vegetable oil in a narrow pot to 350°F.

In a wide bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Use your hands or a rolling pin to gently stretch the biscuit dough to a thin oval shape.

Carefully place dough into the preheated oil and cook for 1 minute on each side, flipping back and forth until a deep golden.

Remove the dough to the cinnamon sugar bowl and toss to coat, then remove to a plate.

Serve with a drizzle of chocolate sauce with some hot tea or coffee.
