Garlic green beans (Kkeopjilkong maneul bokkeum: 껍질콩 마늘 볶음)

Prepare beans

Bring 3 cups of water in a large pot to boil over medium high heat. Stir in the salt. Add the beans and cook for 7 minutes, stirring with a wooden spoon to cook evenly. Remove from the heat. Drain the beans through a strainer over a bowl. Reserve ½ cup of the bean cooked water for later use.

Prepare garlic

Put the same pot back on the stove. Turn on the heat to medium high. Add the vegetable oil and garlic, stirring with a wooden spoon for 1 minute, until the garlic start to get a little crispy and light brown.

Add green beans

Add the beans, the reserved ½ cup bean cooked water, soy sauce, and onion. Cook for about 5 to 6 minutes, occasionally turning and flipping with the wooden spoon, until the soy sauce mixture boils down and the beans turn savory and tender. Remove from the heat and stir in sesame oil.

Serve

Transfer to a serving bowl or plate and serve with rice. The leftovers can be refrigerated up to 1 week in the fridge.

Preheat large ceramic non-stick skillet on medium heat. Add green beans and 3 tbsp water.

Cover with lid and cook for 4 minutes. Remove the lid and if there is any water left, cook green beans until water has evaporated.

Push beans to the side and add butter or olive oil and garlic. Cook for 30 seconds and then stir with green beans.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper; and sauté for another 30 seconds.

Serve warm.

In a medium pot, cover green beans with cold water and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes, until they reach your preferred level of doneness. Drain and set aside.

Begin by heating your wok or skillet over medium/low heat. I like to use a wok because the shape allows for optimal heating and stir-frying.

When the wok is hot, add the sesame oil. When it starts to become fragrant - it won&#039;t take long, about 30 seconds - add the onions and cook them until they are translucent and slightly caramelized.

Now add ginger, garlic, and red peppers, cooking just briefly so that the ginger and garlic become fragrant and the bell pepper begins to soften.

Add the green beans and toss them in the garlic, oil, and ginger. Now let them cook until they are your desired tenderness. We like to keep them a little crunchy so we cook them for only 1 to 2 minutes.

At the very end, add soy sauce (or coconut aminos) and salt, cook for another minute or two then remove from heat. (If you want them to be softer, you can absolutely cook them longer.)

Serve immediately.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add a hefty pinch of salt. Add the beans and boil until they just begin to soften, around 4mins. They will continue to cook in the pan, so make sure they&#39;re not overcooked at this point. Drain, rinse in cold water and shake off excess water.

Meanwhile, melt your butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add in your garlic slices and fry until they just begin to tinge golden. If they brown too quickly take the pan off the heat and turn to low. The garlic will go from golden crispy to burnt and bitter very quickly, so just be careful.

Add your green beans and toss for a couple of mins until fully coated and hot again. Season with a good pinch of salt and pepper, give a final toss then serve whilst still hot!

Place a large pot of salted water to boil. When it comes to a boil, add the green beans, return to a boil, and cook for 3-5 minutes or until the beans break easily and are tender inside but still have a good bite to them.
