Melt chocolate in large microwavable bowl according to bag instructions. Add peanuts and chow mein noodles.

Drop by rounded spoonfuls on to wax paper. Shake on sprinkles and allow to cool for several hours before removing from the wax paper.

These no bake haystack cookies combine chow mein noodles, milk chocolate and butterscotch chips to make decadent treats that are always a huge hit. Chow mein cookies are perfect to whip up at a moment's notice and you can vary the flavors and sprinkle decorations depending on the season.

Haystack Cookies

Place the milk chocolate chips and butterscotch chips in a large bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments until melted. Stir until smooth.

Add the chow mein noodles to the bowl and toss until coated in the chocolate mixture.

Spoon 2 tablespoons of the cookie mixture onto a piece of parchment and shape into a mound; place a pinch of sprinkles on top.

Repeat the process with the remaining cookie mixture and sprinkles until you have 12 cookies.

Let cookies sit until firm, then serve. Cookies can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

These Haystack Cookies are classic no bake treat made with vanilla chocolate, butterscotch chips, macadamia nuts, and chow mein noodles. Change up the sprinkles to suit the occasion. They’re so easy and delicious!

Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.

Combine the candy melts and butterscotch chips in a large microwave-safe bowl; microwave in 30 second increments, stirring well in between each time, until melted and smooth (about 90 seconds total.)

Add in the chow mein noodles and chopped nuts; stir until everything is mixed and coated.

Drop heaping tablespoon mounds of the mixture onto the parchment paper a few inches apart. Top with sprinkles, if desired.

Set aside to firm up (can take anywhere between 20 minutes to 1 hour) or place baking sheets in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to fully harden.

Haystack Cookies (Easy No-Bake Recipe)

salted peanuts, chopped

Wax Paper

Line a baking tray with wax paper. If you don’t have a baking tray, lay the wax paper on a flat, clean surface. (Countertops or tables will work just fine.)

Add two inches of water to the bottom of a double boiler or tall saucepan. Bring it to a boil, then turn it down to a low simmer.

Place the top of the double boiler or a heatproof bowl over the simmering water. (the bowl shouldn't touch the water)

Add the butterscotch chips and peanut butter to the top of the double boiler or bowl.

Use an oven glove to hold the pot and stir with a rubber spatula, scraping the bottom and the sides of the pan frequently to prevent burning.

Stir for about 5 minutes or until the mixture is fully incorporated and smooth.

Remove the pot or bowl from the heat, and add the chow mein noodles and peanuts to the butterscotch mixture.

Gently stir until the noodles and nuts are fully coated.

Use a fork or spoon to drop evenly-sized clumps of the mixture onto the wax paper-lined tray.

Allow to cool at room temperature until they’re set and no longer sticky. Enjoy!

Cook in the microwave, on high, for 45 seconds. Take the bowl out of the microwave and vigorously stir the chips. If needed, microwave at additional 15-second intervals, stirring (yes, vigorously!) between each interval, until the chips are smooth and melted.

Add chow mein noodles and gently fold until they&#039;re evenly coated.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet. Place in the fridge, 10-15 minutes, or until cookies are set.

No Bake Haystack Cookies (Buddy the Elf Cookies)

chow mein noodles (about 2 cups) (5 ounce container)

Prepare the counter top or a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips, white chocolate chips, and shortening into a microwave safe bowl.  Microwave chips at 50% power for 1 minute. Remove and stir.  If needed, continue to microwave at 30 second intervals until completely smooth.

Remove from the microwave and stir in the noodles. I add about 2 cups and stir. Then sprinkle in more and stir as needed to get a mixture of well coated noodles with a little extra mixture. You don’t want the cookies to be too dry. Stir until completely coated.

Drop coated noodles (about a teaspoon in size) onto parchment paper, set aside to set.

While coated noodles are hardening, microwave the milk chocolate at 50% power for 1 minute. Continue to heat at 30 second intervals until completely melted.

Place melted chocolate into a piping bag and snip off the tip with scissors.

Drizzle the melted chocolate onto the hardened haystacks in a random pattern.

Top with mini marshmallows and mini M&Ms.

Let chocolate on the haystacks harden and then serve.

Use a spoon to drop the mixture onto a parchment-lined sheet pan, forming 2–2.5-inch mounds. Top with mini chocolate chips or a pinch of flaky sea salt, if you like.

Cool

Let the cookies cool completely until the butterscotch hardens, either at room temperature or in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Enjoy!
