This easy recipe for fail proof whole wheat pizza dough will have you and your family enjoying a healthier version of pizza night!

Fail Proof Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)

Tbs extra virgin olive oil

whole wheat flour

Tbs cornmeal

In a small bowl pour packet of yeast and 1/4 cup warm water (I run my tap on just hot until it is really hot to touch). Stir it once, then let it rest for 5 minutes until it gets foamy at the top.

Meanwhile, in the bowl of a stand mixer add the 2 cups plus 2 Tbs whole wheat flour and 1 tsp salt.

After the 5 minutes add the yeast mixture to the bowl of the stand mixer, and add 3/4 cups warm water and 1 Tbs extra virgin olive oil, stir it until loosely combined with a wooden spoon. Then, with the dough hook attachment set it on speed 2 and let the dough 'knead' for 5 minutes (you can knead it by hand if you don't have a stand mixer.)

After 5 minutes of kneading, stop the mixer and form the dough into a ball (s) -I usually do 2-3 dough balls depending on what I'm making (2 12 inch very thin crusts or 3 8-inch crusts) and place in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap for 30 minutes (it will double in size after 30 minutes).

Preheat oven to 450.

Now sprinkle a baking sheet with cornmeal and on a floured surface roll out one of the dough balls or with floured hands stretch the dough into a circle, then place on the prepared baking sheet and stretch a little more, pinch the edges of pizza dough to form a crust. Next bake pizza crust (minus toppings) for 5 minutes, remove from oven, and then add toppings (sauce/cheese/toppings).

Bake at 450 for 15 minutes or until the cheese around the edges starts getting brown. Remove from oven, slice, and enjoy!

The quantities for this are generous, so if you have any leftovers, pop a wedge of cold pizza into your lunchbox the next day

Mix the flours and yeast with a pinch of salt in a food processor fitted with a dough blade. Pour in the water and mix to a soft dough, then work for 1 min. Remove the dough and roll out on a lightly floured surface to a round about 30cm across. Lift onto an oiled baking sheet.

Spread the canned tomatoes over the dough to within 2cm of the edges. Arrange the cherry tomatoes and courgettes over the top, then scatter with the mozzarella. Mix the capers, olives and garlic, then scatter over the top. Drizzle evenly with the oil. Leave to rise for 20 mins. Heat oven to 240C/ fan 220C/gas 9 or the highest setting.

Bake the pizza for 10-12 mins until crisp and golden around the edges. Scatter with the parsley to serve.

Easy Thin Crust Dough

Make the pizza dough

Follow the Easy Thin Crust Pizza Dough recipe to prepare the dough. (This takes about 15 minutes to make and 45 minutes to rest.)

Place a pizza stone in the oven and preheat to 500°F. OR preheat your pizza oven (here’s the pizza oven we use).

Make the pizza sauce

Prepare the toppings: 

Thinly slice the peppers. Thinly slice the red onion. Thinly slice the garlic. In a skillet, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt. Saute the vegetables, stirring often, for about 7 to 10 minutes, until browned and very soft. Stir in the oregano and remove from the heat.

Bake the pizza

 When the oven is ready, dust a pizza peel with cornmeal or semolina flour. (If you don’t have a pizza peel, you can use a rimless baking sheet or the back of a rimmed baking sheet. But a pizza peel is well worth the investment!) Stretch the dough into a circle; see How to Stretch Pizza Dough for instructions. Then gently place the dough onto the pizza peel.

Spread the pizza sauce over the dough using the back of a spoon to create a thin layer. Sprinkle with the vegetables, drained capers, and Parmesan cheese.

Use the pizza peel to carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone. Bake the pizza until the cheese and crust are nicely browned, about 5 to 7 minutes in the oven (or 1 minute in a pizza oven).

While the pizza is baking, mix the baby arugula with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of kosher salt. When the pizza is done, top with the arugula. Slice into pieces and serve immediately.

Healthy Low Calorie Pizza Under 500 Calories For The Whole Pizza

Just less than 3/4 Cup (85 grams) self-rising flour

Tsp xanthan gum

Tsp garlic powder

onion powder

Tbsps (50 grams) Almond milk

Cup low calorie pizza sauce

(40 grams) fat-free mozzarella

(40 grams) part-skim mozzarella

Tsp of garlic salt

Pepperoni

Anything else you want

Add the flour, xanthan gum, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to a large bowl, whisk until combined.

Pour in the almond milk, and use a spatula to mix until a crumbly dough forms. Use your hands to work the ingredients together into a ball of dough.

Wrap the dough with parchment paper, and preheat your oven to 550°F (290°C). Let the dough rest next to the oven as it heats up.

Once the oven reaches around 500 degrees, take out a large piece of parchment paper, and coat your hands with a little bit of flour - along with a rolling pin - over the paper.

Unwrap the dough, and rub some of the flour from your hands on the dough. Lay the dough down on the parchment paper, and use the rolling pin to roll the dough out until it reaches around 10 inches in diameter. 

Use a 7-inch bowl to make a small indent in the top of the dough. Roll the extra dough outside the indent towards the center to form the crust.

Use your hands to flatten and shape the crust and work the crust/dough outwards to get it to be about 9-inches in diameter.

Use a basting brush to cover the crust with olive oil, and then remove any excess parchment paper from around the dough.

Bake the crust for around 3-4 minutes on a pizza tray, and then remove it from the oven.

Add the pizza sauce, along with the cheese - and toppings if using them - and brush the crust again with oil, and top with garlic salt.

Bake again for around 8 minutes - until the cheese has totally melted and the crust is golden brown.

Remove from the oven, let cool for just 1-2 minutes, and enjoy!

Homemade Low Calorie Pizza Recipe | UNDER 500 CALORIES For The Entire Thing

Polenta pizza is a healthier alternative to the otherwise traditional Italian classic. Our polenta pizza is vegan, delicious and can be adapted with the toppings of your choice. 

Polenta Pizza

30cm pizza base made of Mamaliga Recipe (Romanian Polenta)

Make your polenta pizza

Make your polenta pizza base according to the instructions provided in our other recipe (link in the ingredients).<br />
Make sure you allow the polenta pizza base to cool for at least an hour until it's fairly hard and easy to handle.

Preheat the oven to

Spread the tomato paste

Spread the tomato paste over the polenta pizza base. Scatter the shredded vegan cheese. Decorate with the toppings of your choice although we recommend cherry tomatoes and green olives.

Season with a little

Season with a little salt and pepper and bake on a tray in the centre of the oven for around 15-20 minutes until the cheese starts to bubble up.

Decorate with fresh basil

Decorate with fresh basil and serve hot. Any leftovers can be stored in the fridge until the next morning. To reheat, use the oven until the cheese starts bubbling up again.

How to make Polenta Pizza

Upgrade pizza night with our 3 ingredient Greek Yogurt Pizza Dough! Mix, roll, and bake for a delicious, higher protein homemade crust.

Greek Yogurt Pizza Dough

½ Cup Greek Yogurt (Plain Whole Milk (Look for High Protein))

¾ Cup Self Rising Flour

Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese (Grated)

Tablespoon Olive Oil (*Optional for crisp)

¼ Cup Pizza Sauce

¼ Cup Pizza Cheese

Pepperoni (*Optional)

Mix together all of your Pizza Dough ingredients until it starts to clump up

Use your hands once it clumps up (it shouldn&#39;t be sticky) to thoroughly combine everything by kneading it

Let your dough rest for a few minutes

Put your dough onto a lightly floured piece of parchment paper and press or roll it out into your pizza shape (make it or thin)

Bake your dough on 450F/232C for 5-7 minutes or until lightly browned

Add your Pizza Toppings on starting with your Pizza Sauce then your Pizza Cheese and optional Pepperoni

Put it back into the oven on 450F/232C for around 10-12 minutes
