Yummy gooey soft chocolate fudge brownies topped warm with a simple cocoa powder icing made just like Texas sheet cake.

Texas Sheet Cake Brownies

white granulated sugar (...[ 0.58])

vegetable oil (...[ 0.19])

Preheat oven to 350 °F and grease a 9x12 baking pan with raised sides. Don&#x27;t use baking sheet.

Slowly melt chocolate in a medium bowl over a boiling saucepan of water. Stir often.

In another bowl blend all the remaining brownie ingredients together. When chocolate is melted, add to the brownie batter and stir.

Pour brownie batter into greased pan and bake for 20-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Brownies

While brownies are baking, melt butter in a medium bowl and whisk together remaining icing ingredients. Keep icing warm to keep butter melted.

When brownies come out of the oven, immediately pour warm chocolate icing on top and over brownies in baking pan. Let brownies completely cool and then cut and enjoy.

Chocolate Icing

Baked fresh pecans with cinnamon  and candied with sugar.

Cinnamon Vanilla Candied Nuts

pecans (shelled and halved...[ 9.72])

white granulated sugar (...[ 0.29])

Preheat oven to 350 °F and line a cookie sheet with parchment or wax paper.

Spread pecans on baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

In a sauce pan, combine sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and water. Cook on medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves.

Take out pecans and add to sugar mixture. Stir occasionally to make sure all pecans are coated.

Cook until all the liquid has cooked away.

Pour warm pecans in baking sheet that was used for toasting pecans earlier and let cool completely.

An extremely easy dough that can be used for pierogis, stuffed dumplings, and potstickers.

Authentic Pierogi/Dumpling/Potsticker Dough

Mix and knead all of the ingredients together. A KitchenAid stand mixer with the dough hook is the easiest method.

Cut the dough into four piece and set aside.

Using a KitchenAid pasta roller, roll each pieces of dough on low speed through the pasta roller. At first dough will look bumpy and tear easily as it goes through the roller.

Fold the dough up and keep running it through the roller until it becomes smoother and will not tear apart. It may take up to ten passes.

On a floured surface lay out your rolled dough pieces.

Using a drinking glass, punch out your pierogis until all the dough is used up.

Run leftover dough through pasta roller and repeat process until there is nothing left.

Fill your pierogis with filling. But fight the urge to over fill, it will squirt out of the seams.

Crimp the edges, place on a baking sheet, and freeze.

Authentic German apple cake called Apfelkuchen has a basic butter cake with fresh apple slices pushed into the top of the cake batter.

Apfelkuchen: German Apple Cake

Preheat

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease 8 or 9-inch springform pan.

Cream

Cream butter and 1 cup granulated white sugar together until a smooth texture is reached.

Blend

While blending, add in eggs one at a time. Add flour and baking powder. Mix until smooth and uniform.

Spread

Spread cake batter in greased pan. The batter will be sticky so be careful.

Overlap

Peel and slice apples and place on top of cake batter. Overlapping apples and pressing down into the cake just slightly. The cake batter will rise around the apples.

Sprinkle

Sprinkle the extra 3 tbsp. granulated sugar on top of the batter, but don't mix in. This step is optional.

Bake

Bake cake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool

Remove baked cake promptly from pan and let completely cool before cutting into it. Dust with powdered sugar on top and enjoy.

Slow cooked fresh apples and cinnamon make this a perfect spreadable fruit butter great for water bath canning.

Apple Butter

lbs apples of any variety (...[ 11.12])

Peel, core, and slice all apples and add to the slow cooker.

Add all sugars and spices to cooker. Stir briefly and set on low to cook for 10 hours. I cook this recipe overnight.

After 10 hours, puree with a immersion blender.

Keep in slow cooker to cook longer while you set up your water bath canning system and when ready can away. I sometimes need to cook it longer if it is too watery. Process for 5 minutes in water bath canner.

Slow cooked tender corned beef served with soft green cabbage and carrots topped with warm horseradish and mustard sauce.

Corned Beef with Horseradish Mustard Sauce

In a large slow cooker, combine broth, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, coriander seeds, and brown sugar.

Rinse the corned beef briefly with water. This will reduce the amount of salt. Place corned beef in slow cooker .

Place peeled and cut carrots in cooker around the meat. Then top the meat and carrots with chopped green cabbage. Set slow cooker to low and cook for 8 hours.

Slow Cooked Corned Beef

Melt butter in a small sauce pot and then whisk in flour. Next add in horseradish and mustard.

Pour in milk and cook on low until sauce thickens. Add more milk if sauce is too thick. Salt to taste.

Serve corned beef with warm sauce and enjoy.

Horseradish Mustard Sauce

A great twist to a typical Italian dish with Cajun spices, andouille sausage, chicken, and homemade Alfredo sauce.

Cajun Chicken &amp; Sausage Lasagna

lasagna noodles (...[ 2.00])

lb. Andouille sausage (diced...[ 4.25])

chicken breast (diced...[ 4.00])

Cajun/Creole seasoning (...[ 0.22])

garlic (minced...[ 0.33])

onion

mozzarella cheese (shredded...[ 3.75])

spaghetti sauce (...[ 1.25])

dry basil (...[ 0.05])

dry oregano (...[ 0.05])

unsalted butter (...[ 1.00])

heavy cream (...[ 2.30])

cream cheese (...[ 0.50])

garlic powder (...[ 0.05])

Parmesan cheese (...[ 2.25])

Boil 12 whole lasagna noodles. Cook noodles al dente, or firm to the touch. They will rip if the noodles are too soft.

Cut the 3 cloves garlic, 1 large onion, and 1 lb. Andouille sausage into small pieces and set aside.

Cut 1 lb. chicken breast into small pieces and toss in 2 tsp. Cajun/Creole seasoning Cook seasoned chicken in skillet along with chopped onion and garlic. Set aside after all has cooked.

Lasagna

Melt 1 stick unsalted butter in sauce pan over medium heat. Add 1 pint heavy cream, 1 tsp. garlic powder, ½ tsp. black pepper, and ¼ cup white granulated sugar. Stir and simmer for about 15 minutes.

Add ½ cup Parmesan cheese and 2 oz. cream cheese to mixture and stir often to make sure cheeses melt properly.

Alfredo Sauce

Prepare layers: Smear few tablespoons of 1 quart spaghetti sauce on bottom of 9x13 pan then 3 lasagna noodles. Next, smear more 1 quart spaghetti sauce over noodles. Sprinkle half chicken mixture and 1 cup of the 3 cups mozzarella cheese.

Add a new layer of 3 lasagna noodles then smearing a few tablespoons of Alfredo sauce. Sprinkle half Andouillé sausage and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers by alternating chicken with spaghetti sauce with Andouille sausage with Alfredo sauce with three noodles in between the layers.

Sprinkle remaining 3 cups mozzarella cheese, ⅛ tsp. dry basil and ⅛ tsp. dry oregano on top of the last noodles and bake covered for one hour at 350 °F.

Once cooked, let lasagna set for about 15 minutes otherwise it will fall apart when you cut into it. Pour extra Alfredo and spaghetti sauce on top of each piece of lasagna before serving.
