This Homemade Ice Cream Cake recipe is better than store bought, guaranteed!! Filled with Oreos and hot fudge, this is the ultimate dessert.

Homemade Ice Cream Cake

vanilla ice cream

chocolate ice cream

hot fudge sauce

OREO thins (crushed)

heavy whipping cream

sugar

vanilla

rainbow sprinkles (or other decorations as desired.)

Remove ice cream from the freezer and defrost about 15 minutes.

While ice cream is softening, line two 8-inch cake pans well with plastic wrap, leaving several inches of overhang.

Spoon soft ice cream into each prepared pan, pressing down to remove air bubbles as you go. Cover with plastic wrap and press down evenly to smooth the top. Freeze for 8-12 hours or until hardened.

1 hour before assembling cake, place serving platter into freezer. (Make sure your platter can freeze!)

Place heavy cream, sugar and vanilla into a large bowl and whip until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate.

To assemble cake: remove ice cream layers and serving platter from freezer. Unwrap the tops of the ice cream layers and using the excess plastic wrap, remove layers from pans. Place chocolate layer on the bottom. Smooth an even layer of hot fudge over the chocolate layer, leaving a 1/2 inch border. Sprinkle crushed OREO thins over hot fudge and press down gently. Add vanilla layer overtop. Spread whipped cream overtop of the entire cake, add sprinkles as desired and freeze until ready to serve.

Homemade Ice Cream Crunch Cake

Simple and divine 5 layer ice cream cake sitting on top of an Oreo crust. Cool off and celebrate with this easy recipe!

Easy 5 Layer Ice Cream Cake

Oreos (1 standard package)

(115 grams) unsalted butter, melted

chocolate ice cream, softened

(240 milliliters) heavy cream

Tablespoons (15 grams) confectioners’ sugar

vanilla extract

Make the crust

 In a food processor or blender, pulse the whole Oreos into a fine crumb. Stir the cookie crumbs and melted butter together, then press into a 9&#215;13 pan. (No need to grease the pan prior.) Make sure it is very tightly packed&#8211; I use the back of a spatula to firmly press it in. Freeze for 15 minutes.

During that time, place the softened chocolate ice cream in a bowl and give it a good stir to rid any frozen lumps. You want a nice smooth, soft ice cream. Spread it on top of the frozen crust. Freeze for 15-30 minutes. (Closer to 30 minutes is ideal.)

During that time, place the 2nd ice cream flavor into a bowl and stir it until it is smooth and very soft. Carefully spread on top of the chocolate ice cream. Freeze for 15-30 minutes. (Closer to 30 minutes is ideal.)

Make sure the hot fudge is spreadable consistency. You may have to slightly heat it if using store-bought. Spread it on top of the ice cream as best you can. Because it is not as cold as the ice cream layer, the two will slightly mesh together as you spread. That&#8217;s ok. Freeze for 15-30 minutes. (Closer to 30 minutes is ideal.)

Make the whipped cream: 

Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the heavy cream, confectioners&#8217; sugar, and vanilla on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, about 4-5 minutes. Spread on top of hot fudge layer, then top with sprinkles. Cover with aluminum foil and freeze for at least 12 hours before serving (and up to a few days!).

Use a very sharp knife to cut, making sure you are cutting into the crust. Keep leftovers in the freezer.

I made this recipe with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, and added a layer of crushed oreos  coated in magic shell to mimic carvel crunchies, and it was absolutely perfect! Love this recipe! Thanks Sally!

Followed your recipe but still ended up with the cookie crust too hard to cut through. But otherwise, this recipe is easy to do and my birthday girl loved it.

Great recipe! I used the 1/2 cup butter for my Oreo crust, and it was too firm. Would the crust come out softer if I decrease the butter to 4-6 tablespoons? I’ll definitely make this again…thank you Sally for another tasty treat.

This ice cream sandwich cake is layers of ice cream sandwiches, whipped topping and candy, all stacked up to form an easy yet super impressive dessert. An ice cream sandwich cake is perfect for summer gatherings, birthday parties and school events!

Ice Cream Sandwich Cake

ice cream sandwiches (unwrapped)

whipped topping (thawed)

chocolate chips

mini M&M's

fudge sauce

Place 4 ice cream sandwiches in a row on a serving plate.

Use a piping bag fitted with a large star tip to pipe dollops of whipped topping over the ice cream sandwiches.

Sprinkle chocolate chips and M&amp;M's over the layer of whipped topping.

Freeze until firm.

Repeat the process with the remaining ice cream sandwiches, whipped topping and candies until you have 3 layers of ice cream sandwiches and 3 layers of whipped topping and candies. Freeze each layer until firm before proceeding with the next layer.

Freeze the whole cake until firm, at least 1 hour.

Drizzle the fudge sauce over the top of the cake. Cut into slices then serve.&nbsp;

Layer 12 ice cream sandwiches in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch dish. You may need to cut the last ice cream sandwich in half in order to get it to fit in the bottom of the dish. 

Allow to soften for a few minutes and then use a spoon to gently press the ice cream sandwiches down a little bit. You can skip this step if you&#39;re using a very deep pan!

Spread half of the whipped topping over the ice cream sandwiches. Drizzle with chocolate and caramel syrups. Sprinkle with desired toppings.

Top with another layer of 12 ice cream sandwiches. Spread remaining whipped topping over the ice cream sandwiches. Drizzle with additional chocolate syrup and caramel syrup, if desired. Sprinkle with additional toppings.

Freeze for about 1-2 hours (or overnight) to give the cake time to firm up before slicing and serving.

5-Ingredient Ice Cream Sandwich Cake

This Ice Cream Sandwich Cake is layered with ice cream sandwich bars and some of your favorite sundae toppings. Super easy to make, but looks like you labored all day over it. Great dessert in the summertime and all year round!

Microwave the fudge and caramel topping for about 15-20 seconds to loosen it and make it spreadable, if necessary.

Line the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish with a layer of the ice cream bars (10 of them; trim if necessary.)

Spread half of the hot fudge, followed by the caramel, and then Cool Whip over the sandwiches. Sprinkle on half of the chocolate chips and toffee pieces. Repeat layers.

Freeze until firm, about 1 hour. Cut into squares and serve.

6-7 rectangle shaped ice cream sandwiches (depending on the size)

candy bar, chopped (I used Twix)

chocolate syrup, to drizzle

Tiramisu ice-cream cake

Line a 1kg loaf tin with cling film. Beat the mascarpone, sugar and marsala together then fold in the chocolate and cream.

Make up the coffee with 600ml boiling water, leave for 5 mins then strain into a bowl and stir in the sugar and brandy.

Reserve 2 biscuits then quickly dip the remainder as you use them into the coffee mixture and line them along the base and up the long sides of the tin (they will stand above the rim).

Spoon in half the creamy mixture. Dip the last biscuits into the coffee and place on top end to end. Spoon the remaining creamy mixture on top, then fold over the sponge fingers above the rim and press lightly into the filling. Cover and freeze. To serve, turn out onto a plate, strip off the cling film and dust generously with cocoa. Spoon the cream down the centre and decorate with the chocolate.

Easy vegan ice cream cake made with fresh cherries, chocolate and covered in a boozy kirsch infused cherry compote.

Vegan Black Forest Ice Cream Cake

17.6 oz fresh cherries, pitted (or frozen)

Brandy (sub with brandy)

cane sugar

cornflour (cornstarch)

water

5.6 oz sweetened condensed coconut milk

cashews (soaked, see notes)

oz chilled full fat canned coconut milk (or coconut cream)

almond extract (optional)

dutch processed cocoa powder (or cacao powder)

sea salt

2.4 oz fresh cherries, pitted

Start by making the cherry sauce, this will flavor the cherry ice cream and also be used to top the ice cream cake! Add the cherries, kirsch/brandy, and sugar to a saucepan and simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring often.

In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water to form a paste. Add it to the saucepan and cook out the mixture for 3 minutes, stirring to prevent it from burning to the pan.

Reserve one-third of the cherry sauce for the topping. Add the remaining cherry sauce to your blender with the sweetened condensed coconut milk, cashews, coconut milk, vanilla extract and almond extract. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

Line an 8&quot; loaf tin with parchment paper and pour the cherry ice cream mixture into it. Place in the freezer for 2-3 hours, until set.

Cherry Sauce &amp; Ice Cream

Add the sweetened condensed coconut milk, cashews, coconut milk, cocoa powder, and salt to your blender. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

Add the cherries in a layer on top of the frozen cherry ice cream and pour the chocolate ice cream on top of them. Place back in the freezer to set completely for another 3-4 hours.

Chocolate Ice Cream

Once set, remove the ice cream cake from the loaf pan by gently heating the outer edges of the pan with a warm wet dishcloth. This will help the ice cream to come loose and release from the pan.

Place the ice cream on a serving dish and top with the reserved cherry sauce, fresh cherries, dark chocolate, and freeze-dried cherries. Slice into portions with a hot wet knife and serve immediately.

Assembly

Any leftover ice cream can be stored in the freezer in an airtight container for up to a month.

1. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.2. In a food processor, pulse the pretzels and gingersnaps into fine crumbs. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture holds together when pinched. Press into the bottom of the pan. Freeze 15 minutes. 3. Scoop 4 cups vanilla ice cream out onto the frozen crust. Flatten/spread into a mostly evenly layer. Freeze 30 minutes. 4. In a bowl, gently swirl together the strawberry ice cream and strawberry jam. Spread onto the vanilla layer. Freeze for 30 minutes more.5. Take a 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream and flatten/spread onto the strawberry layer. Top with sliced strawberries. Wrap the cake and freeze 4 hours or until frozen.5. Remove the cake from the freezer. Use the parchment paper to lift the cake out of the pan. Let sit 5 minutes. Slice and enjoy immediately.

Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream Cake

Oreo cookies

containers (1 pint 1 quart) vanilla ice cream

jar hot fudge topping

Reese’s mini peanut butter cups, chopped

Using a food processor or blender, crush the Oreo cookies. In a large bowl, combine crushed Oreos with 6 tablespoons of melted butter and stir until well combined.

Spray the bottom of a 10 inch springform pan with nonstick spray and press the Oreo crumbs into the bottom of the pan. Press firmly, and allow the Oreos to go up the side of the pan slightly.

Place the pan in the freezer to chill the crust, and set one container of ice cream out at room temperature to soften for 10-15 minutes.

When the crust has chilled, spread the ice cream evenly over the crust. Place in the freezer to chill for 1 hour.

Warm up the jar of hot fudge topping according to directions in the microwave and spoon over the ice cream, reserving about 1/4 of the jar to drizzle over the ice cream at the end. Sprinkle half of the chopped mini peanut butter cups over the fudge and return to the freezer for 1 hour.

Soften second container of ice cream at room temperature, and then spread over peanut butter cups. Refreeze until firm.

To remove the cake from the pan, run a hot knife (dip in hot water) around the edge and then unlatch the sides of the pan.

Use an offset spatula or knife dipped in hot water to make the ice cream smooth on top.

Spoon the reserved hot fudge into a plastic bag and snip off the corner. Drizzle over the top of the ice cream cake in a crosshatch pattern, and sprinkle remaining chopped peanut butter cups over the top. Freeze until ready to serve.
