Inspired by Maid-Rite in Iowa, Loose Meat Sandwiches are simple yet so very delicious. Make a batch in 10 minutes or less! Also slow cooker friendly.

Loose Meat Sandwich (Maid-Rite Copycat)

yellow mustard

sugar

onion

Salt and black pepper

hamburger buns, split (for serving)

Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, pickles (for serving)

In a large skillet, combine beef, water, mustard, and sugar. Simmer over medium heat until the beef is cooked through, about 5 minutes, breaking up clumps of meat with a spoon.

Drain the fat if desired (I don&#039;t, and it is closer to the original recipe if you don&#039;t, but you can if you want). Stir in onion and season to taste with salt and pepper (I like 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper).

Serve meat on buns with toppings on the side such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and pickles.

Lunch Lady Sloppy Joes Recipe - quick and easy homemade sloppy joe sandwiches that are a childhood school cafeteria favorite. Ground beef, onion, garlic, tomato paste, ketchup, water, vinegar, dry mustard, brown sugar, salt &amp; pepper. SO simple and super delicious. Ready to eat in 30 minutes. I am pretty sure my lunchroom never served something so yummy!

Lunch Lady Sloppy Joes

2¼ lb lean ground beef

onion flakes

garlic powder

tomato paste

ketchup

4½ Tbsp white vinegar

dry mustard

brown sugar

salt & pepper, (to taste)

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain.

Add the remaining ingredients and stir. Bring mixture to a boil and reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.

Ground beef in a tangy sauce piled onto a soft bun, homemade Sloppy Joes are an easy, classic American weeknight dinner.

Finely dice the onion and bell pepper, and mince the garlic.

Add the olive oil and beef to a skillet and cook over medium heat until the beef is cooked through. Drain off any excess fat.

Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet with the beef. Continue to sauté until the onions are soft and translucent.

Finally, add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, vinegar, brown sugar Dijon, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce,and salt to the skillet. Stir to combine.

Allow the meat and sauce to simmer over medium-low for about 5 minutes.

Serve over toasted buns.

Set slow cooker to high.  Add all ingredients except ground beef and stir to combine. Add beef and stir again; be sure beef is completely coated.

Cover slow cooker and cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally to break up ground beef.  After 1 hour of cook time, remove lid and continue cooking on high for 2 ½ - 3 hours, until most of the liquid has cooked off.  Continue to stir occasionally and break up any chunks of beef.

Using a slotted spoon, serve a heaping spoonful on a warm bun and load it up with your favorite toppings.  We love cheese, ketchup and pickles!

Loose Meat Sandwich Recipe {Tastee Sandwich}

onion (finely chopped)

Combine in a 1-cup measuring cup: ketchup, prepared mustard, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

Stir 1-cup mixture into beef.

Add water to the beef mixture.

Add in the onion.

Cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly until beef is in fine pieces.

Increase heat until boiling. Cook for 25 minutes, stirring often.

Serve on hamburger buns will dill pickle chips and mustard.

Homemade Sloppy Joes is a classic recipe that will please the whole family. It&#039;s one of the easiest and most popular dinners for school nights.

In a large skillet over medium high heat, cook the ground beef until no pink color remains. Drain the beef and set aside.

To the same skillet, add the onions and peppers and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until they start to soften. Add the garlic and cook for another 30-45 seconds.

Return the drained ground beef back to the skillet with the onions, peppers, and garlic.

Add the remaining ingredients and stir well to combine.

Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for about 30 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened and the liquid has reduced.

If desired, butter and toast the hamburger buns. Divide the beef mixture evenly between the buns.
