How to Make a Honey Bee

Do you love hazelnut coffee? With this homemade Hazelnut Syrup, you can easily make your own flavored coffee at home! Plus, there are so many other things you can use this deliciously flavored simple syrup for!

Hazelnut Syrup

Put water, sugar, and chopped hazelnuts (or extract) in a medium saucepan and bring mixture to a boil.

Once boiling, lower heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, until mixture has thickened a bit. Remove from heat. If using nuts, I recommend letting the syrup rest for about 30 minutes to let the hazelnut flavor continue to steep into the syrup.

If using nuts, strain the mixture into a heat-proof bowl, leaving behind the hazelnuts (I recommend saving them for snacking or topping ice cream with!). If using extract, simply pour syrup into a heat-proof bowl or mason jar.

Keep mixture in bowl or transfer into a mason jar and place in fridge to cool completely. Syrup will continue to thicken as it cools.

Watermelon Syrup

Place cubed watermelon in a blender and process until completely liquified.

Place a fine mesh sieve over a bowl and pour the watermelon juice through it. Let juice strain through and leave pulp behind. You should have about 1 cup of juice.

Pour juice into a mason jar and add sugar. If your watermelon is sweet, you&#39;ll only need 1/2 cup sugar. If it&#39;s not a sweet watermelon, use more. Close jar tightly and shake vigorously  for about 2 minutes. Let rest and then repeat for another 2 minutes.

Put watermelon syrup in fridge to chill for at least 20 minutes before using. You&#39;ll need to shake jar again before using as ingredients will settle.

Lower heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, until syrup has thickened. 

Pour mixture into a heat-proof bowl or mason jar (strain peppers out if you want to keep the spiciness level down). Place bowl or jar in fridge to cool completely before using.

Add Blue Curacao, Peach Schnapps, Pineapple Juice, and Orange Juice to the shaker.

Shake well until the mixture is fully combined and chilled.

Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.

Top it off with Sprite for a refreshing fizz.

Add bourbon, grapefruit juice, blood orange juice, honey syrup, lemon juice, and bitters.

Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients.

Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice.

Garnish with a slice of grapefruit on the rim of the glass.

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Put water and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower heat and let mixture simmer for about 10 minutes until sugar is completely dissolved and mixture has thickened a bit.

Pour syrup into a heat-proof jar or container. Scrape out some of the seeds from the sliced open vanilla pod with a sharp knife* and add them and the vanilla bean into the syrup. 

Place syrup in fridge and let steep for at least 6 hours. Syrup will thicken more as it cools. If you want a more intense vanilla flavor, you can leave the bean in after 6 hours.*
