Baked Parmesan Crusted Salmon - a simple yet thoroughly impressive and and satisfying seafood main dish! It&#039;s finishes with buttery, flaky salmon fillets coated in a golden brown panko, parmesan and herb crust. Easy enough for a weeknight, yet fitting enough for a holiday!

Baked Parmesan Crusted Salmon

(6- 7 oz each) skinless salmon fillets

panko bread crumbs

parmesan

Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

garlic powder

(and black pepper, to taste)

olive oil

lemon

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray an oven safe wire cooling rack with non-stick cooking spray and set over a rimmed 18 by 13-inch baking sheet.

In a shallow dish toss together panko, parmesan, parsley, garlic powder, salt and pepper (I use about 3/4 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper). Drizzle in olive oil and toss well to evenly coat mixture.

In a separate shallow dish beat the egg until yolk and white are well blended.

Working with one piece of salmon at a time dredge each side in egg, then transfer to panko mixture and coat and press both sides of salmon in panko mixture (also sprinkle panko mixture over top and press to help stick).

Transfer to prepared wire rack on baking sheet. Repeat process with remaining 3 portions (If you have extra breading sprinkle over fillets and gently press down to and even layer so they brown evenly).

Bake in preheated oven until salmon is barely cooked through, about 10 - 15 minutes (bake time will vary based on thickness of salmon).

Serve with lemon slices for spritzing over.

Air Fryer Basil-Parmesan Salmon

olive oil spray

salmon fillets, skin removed (about 5 ounce each)

Kosher salt

mayonnaise (I like Sir Kensington)

basil leaves (minced, plus more for garnish)

grated Parmesan or Romano cheese

Preheat air fryer to 400F.  Spritz the basket with olive oil.

Season the salmon with lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Mix the mayonnaise with basil and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.

Spread completely over the top of salmon. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese on top.

In batches, air fry 7 minutes, or longer depending on thickness of the salmon.

Air Fryer directions:

Preheat the oven to 425F.  Spritz a sheet pan with olive oil.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes, depending on thickness of the salmon.

Basil Parmesan Salmon Recipe (Air Fryer or Baked)

Juicy baked salmon topped with crispy Panko and parmesan crust. An easy salmon dinner recipe ready in 20 minutes!

Panko Crusted Salmon

parmesan cheese (grated)

tsp dill

tbsp salted butter (melted)

salt (for panko mixture, + more for sprinkling)

black pepper (for sprinkling)

parsley (chopped, optional)

Pre heat oven to 425℉

Pat dry salmon, place on a baking dish lined with foil (foil should be greased slightly), sprinkle the top of salmon with salt and black pepper. If using skin-on salmon, place salmon skin side down.

Gather the sides of the foil and scrunch it up around the salmon to trap any liquid formed during baking.

In a bowl, bring together Panko breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, dill, and garlic powder. Mix to combine. Add melted butter, and mix again to combine.

Cover the top of salmon with Panko mixture.

Bake salmon for 12 minutes. Check to see if it is done. If using a meat thermometer, the thickest part of the salmon should be 145℉. If salmon is not done, bake it for a few more minutes. Avoid overcooking salmon.

Garnish with parsley (optional). Serve and enjoy!

I don’t know where you got 12 minutes at but geez.  Closer to 30-40 minutes at 425.    Good recipe though.

I’m a very picky eater and I eat salmon prepared the same way each time but today I decided to branch out and try something different. Came across this recipe and it was perfect! I love the crunch that the Panko adds. I’ll be adding this into my salmon rotation.
