Dutch baby puff pancakes are so easy to make and only require a few ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen!

My Favorite Dutch Baby Puff Pancake Recipe

eggs

2.5 tbsp butter (melted, 0.5 tbsp used to grease the skillet)

flour

milk

vanilla extract (or more, to taste)

tbsp sugar

salt

Preheat your oven to 450F. Place the skillet in the oven to heat it up while the oven warms.

Melt 2.5 tbsp of butter in the microwave.

In a mixing bowl, whisk three eggs. Add flour, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla, and 2 tbsp of the melted butter. Whisk until well-combined, or combine in a food processor for an even smoother result.*Drizzle the remaining half tablespoon of the melted butter into the hot skillet until the surface is greased.Pour the batter into the hot, buttered skillet.

Bake in the oven for 13-15 minutes, or until the dutch baby is puffy*, and slightly golden brown on top. Serve with powdered sugar, syrup, or your other favorite pancake toppings.

all-purpose flour

Prepare according to recipe instructions and bake.

Adding caramelized pears and some vanilla bean extract to a perfected Dutch baby pancake recipe leaves you with the most perfect, crowd-pleasing breakfast or brunch!

Caramelized Pear Puff Pancakes

pears

tbsp butter

cinnamon

lemon juice

vanilla bean paste* (or more, to taste)

tbsp white sugar

tsp salt

Preheat oven to 450F

Melt 3 tbsp. of butter in a large skillet. Once the butter is slightly foamy, add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and pears. Top with a splash of lemon juice. Cook on medium heat for about ten minutes, stirring every few minutes. The pears will be soft and caramelized (the sugar will get darker and thicker) once they're ready.

For the Caramelized Pears

In a large bowl, beat three eggs. Melt two tbsp. of melted butter and add this and all other puff pancake ingredients to the beaten eggs. Mix well until the consistency is smooth. Pour the puff pancake mix into the skillet with the caramelized pears.

Move the pears around so they're evenly spaced within the puff pancake mix in the skillet. Place the skillet in the oven and cook for about 12 minutes, or until the puff pancake is raised and puffy and golden brown on the edges.

Top with powdered sugar and syrup and enjoy! It will deflate quickly, but it still tastes great.

For the Puff Pancake

A low carb twist on a breakfast favorite, this puff pancake (or dutch baby) will make you want to eat breakfast for every meal from here on out.&nbsp;

Low Carb Puff Pancake Dutch Baby

Tbsp butter

Eggs

almond flour

half and half

almond milk

T Monk Fruit sweetener

pumpkin spice (or cinnamon)

T powdered low carb sweetener

Berries

Preheat the oven to 425°F&nbsp;

Add butter to 12" cast iron skillet and heat in the oven as the oven preheats.&nbsp;

Make sure the butter doesn't burn, it is okay if it browns.

Beat all of the ingredients for the batter together. Remember the butter is in the cast iron skillet already.&nbsp;

Carefully pull the skillet out of the oven, pour the batter into the skillet and place back in the oven.

Bake for 20-25 minutes at 425°F

Reduce heat to 325°F and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from oven and cut in wedges.

Top with your favorite toppings like berries, lemon curd, low carb powdered sweetener, etc.&nbsp;

I'm new to cooking with Keto, exploring recipes for my new diabetic child. The recipes notes serves 4, and servicing size is 144 calories - is this serving size one whole pancake or the pancake split into 1/4's for four people? I typically make one and divide among my young children, and now that I'm reading a lot about serving sizes, carb amounts, I was a bit confused. Thank you for your help. An amazing low carb option to a puff pancake. This is one of my kids favorite breakfast items and they had no idea that it wasn’t the recipe I usually make! This was so delicious and paired with a low carb whipped cream it was a perfect breakfast!

Pretty good! Added some vanilla and spices   I’d make again. Way way better than another recipe I tried!
