Honey Garlic Salmon and Asparagus Sheet Pan Dinner

Atlantic Salmon Side

salt and pepper

cayenne pepper

asparagus (ends cut)

Season

Pat the salmon dry and cut into 4 filets. If you have extra, keep the extra for an additional meal. (SEE NOTE) Season with salt and pepper to taste and then cayenne pepper and paprika. Set aside.

Heat

Heat a large skillet over medium/high heat. Add the butter and allow to melt.

Cook

Add the garlic and heat for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.

Whisk

Stir in the honey, lemon juice, and water. Whisk to combine. Allow to cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbling and slightly reduced.

Baste

Add the salmon, skin side down, to the skillet. Baste in the sauce.

Drizzle

Add the asparagus around the salmon. Drizzle the asparagus with the olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.

Cook the salmon on medium, covered and skin side down for 15 minutes.

Flip

Turn your oven to broil. Uncover the skillet and place in the oven to broil for 3-5 minutes or until the salmon is cooked to an internal temperature of 145F. If your asparagus is thin and you&#039;re worried about burning, you can remove the asparagus from the skillet before broiling.

Honey Garlic Salmon and Asparagus

Asian Salmon with Rice Noodles and Asparagus - the salmon is first marinated in a sauce made with sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger, and then baked in the oven.

Honey Sesame Salmon with Rice Noodles and Asparagus

To prepare the marinade, in a medium bowl, combine the sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, a pinch of ginger and whisk to blend.

Place salmon in a baking dish, skin-side down. Pour the marinade over the salmon, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.&nbsp;

Bake the salmon uncovered for 15 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit in the same baking dish in which you marinated it. Remove the salmon from the oven, pour the marinade from the baking dish into a small saucepan.&nbsp;

Preheat the broiler.

Slide the spatula under the salmon the remove the skin. Broil salmon (without the marinade or the skin) for about 5 minutes (or more, depending on your broiler), until it caramelizes nicely. Remove from pan.

While the salmon is broiling, reduce the sauce (the marinade) in the sauce pan on the stove top by boiling it down a little bit. Be careful – don’t over do it – reduce it just a bit to have enough to pour over each of 4 serving of fish.

How to cook honey sesame salmon:

While your salmon is baked and broiled in the oven, prepare rice noodles and asparagus.

Cook very thin rice noodles according to package instructions, drain.

Place asparagus in a glass baking dish, season with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil.&nbsp;

Bake in the preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (at the same time with salmon, but in a separate dish), until soft but still crispy.

How to cook rice noodles and asparagus:

Place a scoop of rice noodles in the center of each serving plate.&nbsp;

Add several sprigs of asparagus on the side.&nbsp;

Place a serving of salmon on top of noodles. Pour the condensed sauce on top.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Toss potatoes with 2 tablespoons olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, garlic powder, and 2 teaspoons Italian herb blend. Arrange on a large sheet pan and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Arrange salmon fillets and asparagus on the sheet pan.&nbsp;Whisk together melted butter, honey, dijon mustard, and 1/2 teaspoon remaining Italian herb blend. Brush onto salmon fillets.&nbsp;

Drizzle asparagus with remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil, season with salt and pepper&nbsp;to taste and place lemon slices between the asparagus spears.&nbsp;

Bake for 15 minutes until asparagus and potatoes are fork-tender and salmon is cooked through. Serve immediately.&nbsp;

Salmon and Asparagus (Sheet Pan Meal!)

Allow salmon to come to room temperature.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with foil.

Trim the asparagus. Place it on the baking sheet and toss it with 2 tablespoon olive oil (this also oils the foil). Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper.

Pat the salmon dry and place it on the foil. Drizzle it with 1 teaspoon olive oil. Sprinkle the salmon with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper. Place asparagus around the salmon. Slice the lemon into wheels and place them on top of the asparagus (but not the salmon). Squeeze juice from the two ends of the lemon onto the tray. Then add the chopped fresh herbs on top of everything. 

Bake 9 to 12 minutes until the asparagus is tender at the thickest part, and the salmon is just tender and pink at the center (the internal temperature should be between 125 to 130F in the center for done, or 10 degrees less if you’re broiling). If the salmon is done before the asparagus (the asparagus is thick), remove it from the tray and continue cooking just the asparagus until tender.

This Citrus Baked Salmon in Foil with Asparagus could not be easier to make. Succulent tender Salmon on a bed of asparagus covered in a lemon garlic butter sauce then topped with lemon slices and baked in a foil packet for one complete dinner with no mess!

Easy Citrus Baked Salmon in Foil with Asparagus

(4 ounces.) salmon filet

lemon

salt & pepper

minced

tablespoon dijon mustard

tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

tablespoons raw honey

teaspoon lemon zest

teaspoon smoked paprika

thyme leaves

teaspoon red pepper flakes

teaspoon black pepper

Create a pocket with 4 sheets of tin foil. Place on a baking sheet.

Evenly distribute asparagus spears among the 4 packets. Season with salt &amp; pepper.

In a small bowl, add garlic, mustard, butter, honey, lemon zest, smoked paprika, thyme red pepper flakes, pepper and salt. Stir together.

Pour mixture over each salmon and gently rub in.

Next place two slices of lemon on each salmon.

Bake for 20 minutes. Turn broiler on HIGH.

Open foil packets up on the top to expose salmon and place back under broil uncovered for 1 minute.

I omitted the thyme and lemon zest, and seasoned the salmon with lemon pepper &amp; garlic salt.

I was nervous about the mixture of honey &amp; mustard, but it was SO good!

Mix Marinade Mix, oil, water and vinegar in small bowl.

Divide asparagus evenly among foil sheets. Brush with some of the marinade mixture. Place salmon in center of foil packets moving the asparagus to either side. Brush salmon generously with remaining marinade mixture. Discard any remaining marinade mixture. Bring up sides of foil; double fold top and ends to tightly seal packet.

Grill over medium-high heat 10 minutes or until asparagus is tender and salmon is cooked through. Garnish with lemon wedges before serving, if desired.

Test Kitchen Tip: To prepare in the oven, make packets as directed and roast 20 minutes in preheated 375°F oven.
