Start by wiping off all the potatoes using wet paper towels or a clean damp cloth.

Then cut all the small potatoes in half and cut the large potato into cubes.

Transfer the potatoes to the slow cooker.

Now, stir in ghee, salt, black pepper, herbs de Provence, and garlic until all the potatoes are well coated.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4 hours.

Lightly grease a 6 to 8 quart slow cooker. Or use a slow cooker liner.

Add potatoes, sausage and cheese to the slow cooker insert.

In a small bowl, stir together the cream of chicken, milk, chives, black pepper and cayenne. Pour over the potato mixture. Stir to combine.

Cover and cook on Low 5 to 6 hours, or on High 3 to 4 hours. It&#039;s done when the potatoes are tender and heated thru. Stir before serving.

I think I may have done something wrong... My half and half looks and smells like it curdled. I followed the recipe (it seemed easy enough) but something tells me it went wrong. Mine is not creamy but lumpy and looks like cottage cheese.

I made these today for the first time and they were fantastic! Thank you. I suggest cooking them on low. I didn’t want to get up, so I cooked them on high and they browned a little on the sides. But still good!!!

Can the amount of thyme and rosemary be correct?  Maybe it should be 2 tsp and not tablespoons?  I made this recipe and those two herbs were overwhelming.  No one particularly cared for it and I had to toss most of it.  The dog wouldn't even eat it :(
I might make this again but only put in 1tsp of each herb.

This dish was awesome for Easter! I was a little worried about the cream it seemed there wasn't enough so, when I looked at the comments nobody liked it! I was already making it so I prayed that it would taste good plus I doubled the cream recipe! Everyone loved it and commented how good it tasted! It did not turn out soupy nor goopy or over powering with fresh herbs, it was perfect!

Made this recipe for Father’s Day dinner.   It was a hit.  I mixed the Parmesan with the Gruyere cheese and spread one cup over each layer.  So good and easy to make.

Crockpot Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

potatoes (peeled)

onions (chopped)

ham (diced)

celery soup

evaporated milk

Spray the slow cooker with no-stick cooking spray.

Slice the potatoes into thin slices.

Put about 1/3 of the potatoes in the bottom of the crockpot.

Top with half the onion.

Top that with half the ham.

Repeat layers.

End with the last of the potatoes.

Whisk the evaporated milk and cream of celery soup together in a medium bowl.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Pour the mixture over the potatoes.

Cook on low for 8 hours.

30 minutes before serving remove the cover, top with the cheese if desired, and replace the cover.

Slow Cooker Chicken With Garlic and Potatoes

carrots or celery ribs

store-bought chicken broth

fingerling Yukon gold potatoes (halved lengthwise)

Arrange

Haul out your slow cooker—preferably a 5-quart (4.7-liter) baby—and place the carrots or celery in a single layer in it.

Season

Remove the skin as well as any excess fat from the chicken. In a small bowl, stir together the rosemary, sweet smoked Spanish paprika, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper. Rub the mixture all over the chicken.

Sauté

In a large skillet over medium heat, warm 3 tablespoons oil. When the oil is hot, add the garlic and sauté until golden brown, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to place the garlic in a bowl, reserving the oil in the skillet.

Brown

Add half of the chicken to the reserved oil and cook until deep golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes per side. Place the seared chicken in the slow cooker, leaving the drippings in the skillet. Repeat with the remaining chicken.

Cook

Add the broth and garlic to the reserved drippings in the skillet. Cook, stirring and scraping the skillet, for 1 minute. Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours.

In a medium bowl, toss the potatoes with 1 teaspoon oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper. At the end of the 2 hours, add the potatoes to the slow cooker. Cover and cook until the potatoes are cooked through and the chicken is very tender, about 2 hours more.

Serve

Pile the chicken and potatoes onto a platter. Strain the juices from the slow cooker into a bowl. Skim the fat from the juices, if desired, and pass on the side with the chicken and potatoes.

This recipe is so delicious! I love that it is a simple dish with a savory flavor. I usually only eat white chicken meat but found the leg quarters to be tender and succulent. The next time I make it I might leave the skin on and bake it in the oven in my covered dome stone baker so that it will have a nice brown roasted look. I would  increase the broth to one cup to bake it in the oven. Without a doubt, the recipe is wonderful just as it is!
