Steak Salad is always a favorite main dish salad. The tender steak over a bed of greens and tangy blue cheese is a winner!

Steak Salad

lbs. beef sirloin steak

Montreal Steak Seasoning

baby spinach

tomatoes (sliced)

olives (sliced)

avocados (cut in large chunks)

yellow bell pepper (sliced)

c. blue cheese (crumbled)

Your favorite Blue Cheese salad dressing

Preheat grill to high heat.

Sprinkle steaks with Montreal Steak Seasoning.

Place steaks on grill and cook approximately 4 to 6 minutes per side or to desired doneness.  (I like it cooked medium so it's not too dry.)

Cool slightly then slice into thin strips.

On chilled plates arrange spinach, tomatoes, olives, avocados and yellow peppers.

Place steak strips over salad.

Sprinkle with blue cheese

Top with dressing.

baby arugula

cherry tomatoes, halved

Gorgonzola,

Red Wine Vinaigrette, recipe follows

Salt and black pepper

red wine vinegar

lemon juice

honey

salt

black pepper

olive oil

In a large bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, Belgian endive, red onion, baby arugula and cherry tomatoes, and half of the cheese. Toss the salad with enough vinaigrette to coat. Season the salad with salt and pepper, to taste. Arrange the salad on a platter.

Cut the steaks crosswise into thin slices. Arrange the steak slices atop the salad and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Drizzle more vinaigrette over the steak slices and serve.

Mix the vinegar, lemon juice, honey, salt, and pepper in a blender. With the machine running, gradually blend in the oil.

This was delicious!  I took the advice of another reviewer and added a squeeze of Dijon, along with two cloves of minced garlic.  The dressing was one of the best I've ever tried, and I'll definitely be making that often.

This recipe was EASY and delicious! .. For me, being easy is sometimes more important than being delicious. This recipe did not disappoint. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal. We made it as is. Thank you:)

Such an incredible yummy salad.  Even if you choose to make it without steak it works as a delicious green salad.  Don't let the simplicity fool you into thinking it won't be flavorful - it really packs a heck of a good taste.  On a hot summer night it's perfect.  I will serve this again.  Thanks Giada!

This salad is wonderful!  Only change I made was to season the steak with salt and pepper, garlic powder, and Italian herbs.  Super easy!

My wife said she loved it, and will make this every week.  I normally cook for her on Sundays (since she cooks most every other night of the week), and for her to say this was encouraging to say the least.  My variations were to eliminate the blue cheese, and to add black olives.  I did season the steak part well with liquid smoke marinade and some other spices....   I also did not use red onion.  The vinaigrette was amazing - there's really no reason to buy store stocked salad dressings....

My boyfriend and I were looking for a simple dinner (he wanted steak) so we compromised on a steak salad and this one was amazing!!! 

My daughter requested a steak salad with tomatoes and blue cheese for her birthday a few weeks ago.  I didn't have to look very far as I came upon this recipe.  It is delicious.  I doubled the recipe as we were feeding 9 people. I portioned it onto the plates, topped it with the grilled steak and cheese.  We had plenty.  I used tri-tip. This would also be great topped with salmon or chicken. A great versatile salad.

A Thai steak salad recipe with a Thai-inspired peanut dressing and sesame marinated steak tossed with crunchy cruciferous vegetables, and refreshing herbs.

Thai Steak Salad Recipe

Trifecta flat-iron steak, 1/2" cubed

lime juice

sesame oil

garlic,

Thai chili pepper, minced or serrano pepper

avocado oil

mint, chopped

Zucchini Noodles

slaw mix

cashews

recipe Thai peanut sauce

cilantro,

mint

Mix all ingredients for the marinade together in a small bowl then toss with cubbed steak and set aside for 4-5 minutes.

To prepare Thai Peanut dressing, mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl, and adjust with water if too thick.

Toss zucchini, slaw mix, and salad dressing together.

To cook steak, heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil and saute for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned and heated through. Remove from pan and plate with salad.

Top salad with toasted cashews and additional fresh herbs.

This Easy Thai Steak Salad is super quick to prepare and loaded with veggies and a grilled marinated sirloin steak featuring Thai flavours. A must try salad for the summer, you won&#x27;t regret it.

Easy Thai Steak Salad

soy sauce (low sodium)

tbsp molasses

tbsp ginger (minced)

garlic (minced)

Thai red chili pepper (chopped)

oz sirloin steak

coconut oil

tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)

tsp fish sauce

brown sugar

lime

lettuce (chopped)

red bell pepper (sliced in long strips)

cucumber

cilantro (chopped)

mint (chopped)

tbsp peanuts (chopped (optional))

In a small bowl add all the marinade ingredients (minus steak) and whisk well. Pour the marinade in a ziploc bag, add steak and close the bag and toss around a bit. Place in the fridge and let the steak marinate for 4 hours or overnight. The longer it marinates the better it will taste.

Prepare the dressing, by mixing all dressing ingredients in a small bowl and whisking well.

Grill the steak to your preferred doneness, I prefer mine medium, so for medium I usually leave it 7 minutes per side. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes after you grilled, then slice the steak across the grain.

In a large bowl toss the lettuce, pepper, cucumber, mint and cilantro together then pour the dressing over and toss well. Arrange the salad on a platter and place the sliced steak over the salad, then top with chopped peanuts.

This is the steak salad of your dreams! It's loaded with a juicy steak, your favorite veggies, and a creamy balsamic vinaigrette. It makes a delicious healthy lunch or dinner salad!

Best Steak Salad with Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette

grilling steak (boneless prime rib)

salt and pepper

arugula

cherry tomatoes,

cucumber,

avocado, sliced

red onions

each: grainy mustard, dijon mustard, and balsamic vinegar

Take the steak out of your fridge and evenly coat both sides with the salt and pepper. Add all the salad ingredients to a salad bowl.

Heat a cast iron or heavy-bottomed pan over high heat. Drizzle the avocado oil over both sides of the steak. When the pan starts to smoke, add the steak and let it cook undisturbed for 2 minutes. Flip the steak over and let it cook for 2-3 minutes more. Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest.

While the steak is resting, whisk the salad dressing ingredients in a small bowl. Thin the dressing with up to a tablespoon of water, as needed. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss.

Thinly slice the steak across the grain and serve it over the salad.

Whoa!!! This salad looks FANTASTIC. What a perfect start by using arugula. Definitely one of my favorites. And then all the other ingredients - simple but it looks delicious. Salads are the ultimate summer dish. And your's is perfect as an entrée with bringing in the prime rib. The salad dressing with both mustards and the balsamic vinegar is the perfect finish. One of the best salads I’ve ever had! Super simple also quick to prep and put together, very filling while also still being quite healthy!

This is SO yummy! I have made twice now and my husband (not a salad lover) has said this is one of his favorite recipes!

There are any number of good steak salad recipes out there.  But yours excels above all in its discussions.  A definite 'yes' to rib steaks. And to saute it first, then cut it up. (I even do this for my Asian stir fries now).  For four of us I did two steaks, After cutting the first one up, I got the second one and while cutting it up, put the first cut up one back in the still hot pan to finish them off 'medium' for those who like their steaks a little more done.  

And who would have thought that coarse ground mustard does a better job in thickening a salad dressing.  Not me.  But know I know.

ps - you might get a kick out of my steps for sauteing eggs.  Browned butter, or pork or chicken fat.

Best Steak Salad

Grilled Flank Steak marinated in a savory soy and rosemary mix. Perfect for a hearty salad, or filling for a sandwich.

Grilled Flank Steak Salad

2-lb Flank Steak

dry rub (equal parts salt, pepper, garlic powder)

soy sauce

Worcestershire sauce

ginger

rosemary, (finely diced)

pepper, (a few turns of the grinder)

chimichurri sauce

Romaine lettuce

avocado,

sweet corn, canned or grilled

lemon juiced (optional, grilled)

Rinse the meat and pat dry.

In a large freezer bag add all the marinade ingredients and shake, combining &nbsp;all together.

Add the meat to the bag, zip it, and try to avoid excess air.

Put freezer bag into the refrigerator for a couple of hours (up to six) and occasionally shake it up, making sure the marinade is being evenly distributed to the meat.

Warm up grill to medium high heat and remove meat from freezer bag.

Sprinkle the meat with dry rub on both sides.&nbsp;

Grill over direct heat for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side for a medium rare steak, but adjust time based on your desired doneness. Check temperature with a good digital thermometer for your desired temp. We aim for 130-135 degrees internal temperature.&nbsp;

Remove from grill and let sit at least 10 minutes to allow juices to settle.

Slice across the grain in thin slices and serve over a salad or as a filling for sandwiches.&nbsp;

How To Grill Flank Steak

Prepare Chimichurri sauce or use your favorite salad dressing.

Slice the romaine into smaller pieces, wash and dry. Easiest to use a salad spinner.

Add to a large bowl the romaine, avocado, cherry tomatoes, corn, and onions. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice and Chimichurri. Toss salad.

Add the flank steak to the salad for a family style meal, or plate the salad, and then add the flank steak for individual portions.

For the Flank Steak Salad

Middle of the week, yes. Middle-of-the-road – no way! Tonight’s gourmet salad is a standout by any standards. Mustard dressing adds zing to this roasted vegie salad that’s topped with juicy beef.

Sticky carrot and zucchini salad with chargrilled steak

baby carrots, trimmed, peeled

maple syrup

zucchini, thinly sliced diagonally 4

beef rump steak

tbsp fresh lemon thyme leaves

Dijon mustard

green round beans, trimmed

mixed baby salad leaves

can cannellini beans, rinsed, drained

red onion, thinly sliced

Get this juicy steak dinner on the table in only 15 minutes. Enjoy with lemony lentils, rocket, parmesan, roasted red peppers and charred lemon

sirloin

pouch of cooked puy lentils

vegetable oil

lemon, halved

red peppers

rocket

tsp red wine vinegar

tbsp extra virgin olive oil

parmesan

Take the steak out of the fridge an hour before you want to cook it.

Heat a frying or griddle pan until it’s smoking hot. Meanwhile, warm the lentils following pack instructions, then tip them onto a big plate or platter to cool a little. Rub the oil over the steak and season generously, then put in the hot pan. Cook to your liking (rare to medium-rare works well for this dish and will take around 2 mins on each side, or a little longer if the steak is particularly thick). Transfer to a plate and leave to rest for a few minutes, loosely covered with foil.

Put one lemon half in the pan, cut-side down, and char it over a high heat for a minute – this will make it extra juicy. Scatter the peppers and rocket over the warm lentils, drizzle with the vinegar and extra virgin olive oil and season with salt. Toss together lightly using your hands.

Slice the steak as thinly as you can and arrange it over the top of the salad. Cut thin shards of parmesan straight from the block, crumble them a little in your hands, then scatter over the top. Serve the lemon on the side for squeezing over.

Sweet Pepper And Steak Salad on a Round Light Gray Plate on a Wooden Table Near a Grill

Whisk the vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper together, in a small bowl, until the salt is dissolved. While whisking constantly, pour in the olive oil. Stir in the chives, taste, and adjust seasoning as desired. Set aside until ready to use.

Heat the grill to medium (350 degrees F) and rub the grate with a towel dipped in oil. Brush the vegetables all over with oil and season well with salt and pepper, to taste. Grill the vegetables, turning rarely, over medium heat until soft and charred, about 10 minutes for the onions and 15 minutes for the peppers. Remove the vegetables from the grill to a cutting board and let cool slightly. Cut the onion rings into quarters and cut the peppers into 1-inch cubes. Reserve.

Season the steak generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Grill the steak until desired doneness, about 4 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes.

Cut the steak against the grain into 1/2-inch slices and add to a medium bowl. Pour 1/3 of the vinaigrette over the steak and toss to coat.

Combine the peppers, onion, watercress or arugula, tomatoes, and the remaining vinaigrette in a large serving bowl, and toss to combine. Top with the steak, adjust seasoning, as desired, and serve.

Excellent! Even my kids who don't like peppers and onions loved it.  Unique dressing, Will definitely make again 

This is delicious and SO easy! I made it with chicken since I didn't have what I needed to make the steak. I marinated it in the dressing ALL DAY, and then cooked it on a George Foreman. It was so tender and worked perfectly with the salad.<br /><br />I also couldn't find watercress or arugula so I used red leaf romaine which tasted pretty good! 

This steak salad was a huge hit at a ladies get together. Some even asked for the recipe. I used mixed green and added a head of romaine instead of the arugula and it turned out great. I have to agree that the combination of grilled sweet peppers and onions in a tangy vinaigrette, along with the tender steak was so tasty!     

The family loves this recipe had a difficult time finding arugula or watercress at my local store so I substituted spring mix salad and it still came out great, also try substituting chicken instead of steak for a change.

I wasn't expecting much from this in that it just looked like a cooked steak over leafy greens recipe. I tried it anyway since I had (mostly) everything on hand and needed to use up a single steak.  I forgot how tasty grilled veggies can be. The combination of sweet peppers and onions in a tangy vinaigrette, along with the tender steak and slightly wilted greens was really good. Nice variations of texture are a plus.

I loved this recipe and so did my husband and 14-year-old daughter.  It was light, yet tasty and filling.  I used shallots instead of red onions, and baby romaine lettuce, which worked well.  Yummy!
