This 3-ingredient Strawberry Simple Syrup is incredibly easy to make, and will elevate any homemade drink or cocktail! I like to use it in this Strawberry Iced Tea.

Strawberry Simple Syrup

oz strawberries, (stems removed and sliced (1.5 cups, measured))

water

sugar

Combine the strawberries, water, and sugar in a saucepan set over medium high heat.

Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, and cook for 20 minutes, until the liquid is deeply red and the strawberry are soft.

Strain the strawberries out from the simple syrup, making sure not to press down on the strawberries. Otherwise your syrup will be cloudy.

Chill the strawberry simple syrup in the fridge for an hour or two until cold*, then enjoy!&nbsp;

Place strawberries, water and sugar in a medium to large pot on the stovetop. Stir to mix and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn heat down to low and allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Then, pour mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a glass or heat-proof container. Let cool and then store in the fridge for up to about 2 weeks. You can use this syrup over ice cream or pancakes or use it to make strawberry milk or pink lemonade!

To make the strawberry syrup

Rim the ridge of your glass with a lime wedge and dip in a mix of margarita salt + sugar or just salt, if preferred. [I used about 3 tablespoons salt to 2 teaspoons sugar]. Fill the glass with ice. In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Grand Marnier, strawberry syrup and lime juice with ice, and shake for about 30 seconds. Pour over ice and squeeze in lime slices and add a few strawberries for garnish.

To make the margarita

Made a few of these margaritas this weekend and they were a huge hit with everyone! Love that they use real strawberries. Will be making all summer!

Fresh Strawberry Margarita

Make this easy Strawberry Simple Syrup with only 3-ingredients. It&#39;s perfect for a variety of cocktails, strawberry lemonade, and strawberry iced tea.

Add ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Pour syrup through a fine-mesh strainer being careful not to mash strawberries. I also line the sieve with cheesecloth in to ensure no particles get through.

Cool and transfer to a glass jar. Refrigerate for up to 1 month, or freeze for several months.

Strawberry Simple Syrup is a homemade sweetener made with just three ingredients, sugar, water, and fresh strawberries. It can add a sweet and fruity flavor to a variety of recipes from beverages to desserts to salads.

(1 ¾ cups) whole strawberries, (washed, hulled, diced)

(250 g) water

(200 g) granulated sugar

Bring ingredients to a boil.

To a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add the diced strawberries, water, and granulated sugar.

Reduce heat to low. Simmer.

Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for about 20 minutes. Avoid crushing the strawberries as it can make the syrup appear cloudy.

Skim off foam.

While simmering, occasionally skim off any foam that may form on the surface. This will help ensure a clearer syrup.

Remove from heat. Let it cool.

After 20 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Pour strawberry mixture through the strainer. Discard strawberries.

Set a fine mesh strainer over an airtight container or jar. Pour the strawberry mixture through the strainer, allowing the liquid to separate from the solids. Discard the strawberries.

Let syrup cool.

Let the strained syrup cool to room temperature.

Store in the refrigerator.

Once cooled, cover the container with a lid and refrigerate the strawberry syrup until it becomes cold and fully chilled. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks.

Strawberry Simple Syrup is easy to make with just 3 ingredients and it can be used in so many ways!

Wash the berries and remove stems. Roughly chop or quarter the strawberries and place them into a medium saucepan. Cover with the water and bring to a boil.

Reduce to a simmer and cook the berries for 20 minutes. Carefully skim and discard any foam that rises to the top.

After 20 minutes, the berries will be much lighter in color and the water should be a dark pink or red. Place a fine mesh strainer over a second saucepan and pour the strawberry liquid through it.

Resist the temptation to press down on the cooked berries to extract more juice. This will make the syrup cloudy. After straining, discard the cooked berries.

Add the sugar to the liquid and bring it back to a boil. Stir constantly, until the sugar has dissolved completely.* Skim and discard any foam that rises to the top.

Remove from the heat and let the syrup cool completely before transferring to glass jars for storage in the refrigerator. The syrup will last for several weeks.

If you know anyone with chickens, save the berries for them...they will love them!  If not, compost them.
