Watermelon Sorbet without Blender or Ice Cream Maker

Watermelon chunks (frozen)

Black salt

lime juice

mint leaves

tsp Maple syrup

Orange

cut and freeze watermelon

Cut watermelon into chunks. Place it on a tray and keep it in the freezer for 4-5 hours. (You can also use frozen watermelon chunks.)

Freezing Watermelon

rest for 5 minutes

Take out frozen chunks 5 minutes before making the recipe.

sprinkle salt

Sprinkle a pinch of black rock salt to it.

add lime juice and mint leaves

Add 5-6 drops of lime juice and 2-3 sprigs of mint leaves.

add maple syrup

Drizzle 1/2 tsp of maple syrup. (You can adjust this as per the sweetness of the watermelon.)

crush it

Crush everything well with the help of mortar or blend in a blender or food processor.

Add it in glass

pour juice

Fill half of the glass with orange juice.

Refreshing Watermelon Sorbet without Ice Cream Maker or Blender

Treat yourself to a big bowl of this delicious Watermelon Sorbet ... it&#039;s so easy to make with only three ingredients!

Watermelon Sorbet

Combine watermelon, sugar, and lime juice in blender. Puree until smooth.

Place strainer over a bowl, then strain watermelon mixture. Discard pulp, then refrigerate juice until cold (at least one hour).

Once juice has chilled, add it to your ice cream maker and process according to the machine&#039;s instructions. The finished sorbet should have the texture of a thick slushie.

Transfer sorbet to an airtight container and freeze until solid (about 2 to 4 hours).

Serve scooped into a bowl. Enjoy!

Strawberry Watermelon Sorbet (5 Minutes)

If you haven’t already frozen your fruit, ensure it’s nice and ripe and juicy (the sweeter, the better) then slice and freeze on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze overnight or for at least 4-6 hours or until firm like ice. (Note: Prep time does not include this step.)

To a high-speed blender (or food processor) add frozen watermelon, frozen strawberries, and frozen banana. Top with the lesser amount of dairy-free milk of choice or coconut water.

Blend on low, then on high, using the tamper to blend the ingredients together if using a high-speed blender. If using a food processor, blend in 30-second increments, then remove lid and scrape down sides as needed.

If it has trouble blending, add more dairy-free milk or coconut water a little at a time. Be sure not to add too much or the sorbet can get too liquidy. Alternatively, you can try letting the fruit thaw slightly in the blender before resuming. Taste and adjust flavor as needed. Add more fruit of choice if you want more of its flavor to come through (we go heavy on watermelon and it doesn’t disappoint).

Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy immediately, plain or topped with sliced fruit of choice. Or, transfer to a parchment-lined loaf pan, cover with more parchment paper, and freeze until firm, then scoop and serve in a bowl or on a cone.

Leftovers will keep in the freezer up to 2 weeks. If not freezing in a loaf pan, this sorbet freezes well in popsicles or ice cube molds (blend again later with more dairy-free milk or coconut water to achieve sorbet consistency).

This recipe was really good but unless you have a vitamix you really need to do this in batches; my Blendtec got stuck multiple times and I had to use a cocktail muddled to push the frozen fruit chunks in more. I ended up taking some out and adding more liquid to it and it eventually got all blended up.

We LOVE this recipe! Anytime we buy a large watermelon, I freeze some and make this recipe. It’s so refreshing and a great way to celebrate summer fruit. Thank you for this creative combination!

I put in maybe 1/4 sliced avocado because I wanted more creaminess and it is AWESOME!

I made this in a food processor and it is simply incredible. This simple and perfect recipe is seriously replacing all popsicles and ice cream in the freezer from now on.

I just made this and added some lime juice and boy is it delicious! What is the best way to keep this sorbet in tact for a few hours for when someone gets home from work :-)

I just made this following all the instructions to pre-freeze the chunks of fruit then blend... it is tasty but difficult to scoop out of the loaf pan because it seemed to freeze into an icy block. Any recommendations for how to get more of a soft consistency? Or just let it melt a bit? Thanks!

Lemon

In a small pan, add sugar and water and bring to a boil.&nbsp;

Cook until sugar is dissolved, then set aside to cool.

Puree watermelon in batches and place in a large bowl.

Add sugar syrup and lemon juice and mix well.

Place in a 13x9 dish, cover and place in freezer until firm. 

Puree frozen mixture before serving.

This Watermelon Granita has just four ingredients and an is ultra-delicious and simple way to cool off with watermelon.

Watermelon Granita

½ medium seedless watermelon

Tbsp lime juice (about ½ lime, 15 mL)

Blend: Scoop the fruit out of the watermelon. In a blender or food processor, puree watermelon until it reaches a thin, even consistency. You should have about 6 cups of watermelon juice. If you have seeds in your watermelon, strain them out with a mesh colander. Stir in lime juice and sugar.

Freeze: Pour into a large baking dish and freeze for about 2 hours. Remove and scrape at frozen sides and top. Place back in freezer. Repeat this process of freezing and scraping, every few hours, until mixture is completely frozen and scraped.

This was astonishingly good. The whole family loved it! I added a lot more lime juice -- in all, about 5 Tbsp.
