Step 1
Take your pork belly, or belly strips, and make sure you dry it thoroughly with kitchen towel.
Step 2
You want to make sure you're removing as much of the moisture from the outside as possible.
Step 3
Cover the pork belly with the oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Step 4
Place in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You can line the basket with parchment paper if you want to make for an easier clean up.
Step 5
Air fry at 180C (355F) for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Flip over and cook again for another 5 minutes on the same setting.
Step 7
Turn a second time and air fry again for another 5 minutes as before.
Step 8
Repeat the step one more time, making for 20 minutes of air frying time total.
Step 9
Brush the pork belly strips, pork belly or pork belly bites with BBQ sauce. I use a pastry brush and make sure that both sides are evenly coated.
Step 10
Air fry for 5 minutes at 200C (390F approx).
Step 11
The total cooking time has now been 25 minutes, you may find (depending on thickness) that the pork belly is now perfect and ready to serve. Alternatively cook for another 5 minutes if you've got thicker slices or like it particularly well done.
