Using the saute feature of your crockpot, spray the pot with cooking spray.

Cook over medium-high heat in a skillet instead if your crockpot does not have this feature.

The second step is to blot the chicken breasts dry, then add them to the crockpot or skillet and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until they are browned.

Cook the other side as well. The breasts should be transferred to the crockpot after browning in a skillet.

Ranch mix is flavorful enough that you don't need to use flavored cream cheese.

The chicken breasts should be removed from the crockpot.
