Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C. Grease and line the base and 2 long sides of a 20 x 30cm slice pan with baking paper.
Step 2
Combine the oats, flour, sugar, coconut and macadamias in a large bowl.
Step 3
Combine the butter and golden syrup in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until butter melts and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Combine bicarbonate of soda and water in a small bowl. Add to butter mixture and stir to combine. Add to flour mixture and stir to combine.
Step 4
Spoon into the prepared pan. Use the back of a spoon to press and smooth the surface. Bake in preheated oven for 25–30 minutes or until lightly golden and cooked through. Remove from oven. Set aside in pan to cool completely.
Step 5
Place chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Stir with a metal spoon until chocolate melts. Place in a small plastic bag and snip a corner. Drizzle chocolate evenly over the slice. Cut into squares to serve.
