Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Put all cake ingredients in a large bowl and stir until there are no lumps.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.

Step 4

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let the cake cool down completely (about 1 hour)

Step 5

Make the frosting: using a hand-held or stand mixer, beat the butter and cream cheese together until combined. Add the vanilla extract and confectioner’s sugar and beat until smooth.

Step 6

Spread the frosting over the cool cake and sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top.
