Step 1
Make the sweet and sour sauce by adding water, pineapple juice, sugar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, salt and corn starch to a saucepan. Whisk together and cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Continue whisking until sauce is thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2
Dice the onions and bell peppers and add to a skillet with olive oil. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring often until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add the ground pork to the skillet and season with garlic, salt and pepper. Crumble pork as it cooks with a wooden spoon, stirring occasionally until cooked through and no longer pink.
Step 4
Pour sweet and sour sauce over the pork mixture and add the drained pineapples. Cook for 5 minutes until sauce is bubbly.
Step 5
Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and cilantro.
