Salt and pepper the cod filets.

Create a breading station for the fish.  In one bowl add the flour. In the second bowl whisk together the eggs and salt. In the last bowl add the Panko, parmesan cheese, old bay seasoning, and garlic powder.

First dip the cod in the flour.

Then in the egg mixture.

And lastly in the Panko.

Spray the bottom of your basket with olive oil.  Place the fish in the basket of your air fryer.  Cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.  Carefully flip the fish.  Continue to cook for 3-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.

Crispy Air Fryer Fish (lemon parmesan breading!)

cod (3-5 oz each; up to 1 inch thick; see note 3)

Fish

Fish- start with fully thawed fish, and pat dry with a paper towel to remove moisture from the surface of the fish.

Prepare

Prepare breading- In three shallow bowls, add: (1) all purpose flour, (2) beaten eggs, (3) Panko, parmesan, lemon zest, salt, onion powder and garlic powder. Stir the Panko mixture until completely combined.

Breading

Bread the fish- Make sure your fish is fully thawed, and pat each fillet dry using paper towels. Use tongs or your fingers to dredge the fish in the flour, shaking off excess, then dipping into the beaten eggs. Allow any excess egg to run off before placing the fish in the Panko mixture. Press gently so it sticks, then flip and allow the entire fillet to be coated. Transfer to a clean plate or cutting board and repeat with remaining fillets.

Cook

Cook- Heat your air fryer to 400°F and allow to preheat for 5 minutes. Add the fish to the basket or tray (*note 5) of your air fryer, ensuring the fillets do not overlap. Cook until the fish reaches 145°F in the thickest portion; 6-8 minutes.

Serve

Enjoy- Serve with tartar sauce and lemon wedges, sprinkle with parsley if desired.

Pat dry the cod with a paper towel.

Mix the oil with the paprika and garlic powder in a small bowl and brush both sides of each fillet with the olive oil.

Place the seasoned cod fillets in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren&#x27;t overlapping.

Prep cod fillets: Brush both sides of the cod fillets with oil or melted butter and season it with your preferred herbs and spices. I used Old Bay seasoning. You can also use garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper for seasoning.

Preheat: Let cod marinate and absorb spices and herbs for 5 minutes. In the meantime preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Then, grease the air fryer basket with oil or cooking spray.

Air fry:  Place the cod fillets in the air fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes (depending on thickness) or until it turns golden brown and crispy. Flip the fillets halfway through the cooking time to ensure it cooks evenly on both sides. Use a meat thermometer to check if the internal temperature of the fish has reached 145°F.

Prepare the dipping sauce: While the cod is cooking, prepare the dipping sauce. You can make tartar sauce by mixing ½ cup mayonnaise, 2 teaspoons finely chopped pickles (or sweet pickle relish), 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, ½ teaspoon of Dijon or yellow mustard and a pinch of salt.Or you can also make a healthy Avocado Cilantro Dipping sauce by mixing avocado, lime juice, garlic, and salt in a blender. Blend it until it becomes smooth and creamy.

I also love to season cod with a mix of herbs like thyme, oregano, and parsley. This can be added to the fish before or after it&#39;s been cooked. If you’re looking to add a bit of heat, red pepper flakes or chili powder can be excellent options.

Coat &amp; Bread Your Cod Fillets. Once your cod fillets are seasoned, it’s time to coat them! Start by lightly dusting your fish with all-purpose flour. Then, dip each fillet in whisked eggs. Finally, coat the fillets generously in Panko breadcrumbs, making sure to press the breadcrumbs into the fish gently. This three-step breading method keeps the fish moist while creating a delicate crust that cooks up crispy in the air fryer.

Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 400F (200°C). Then, place your breaded cod fillets in the basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch. Gently spritz each fillet with spray oil. When the cod fillets’ internal temperature reaches 145F, they’re ready to enjoy!

I cooked it 5 minutes per side for a total of 10 minutes.

I feel the proportions are off in this recipe. I used 1 pound of Cod and lightly sprinkled with paprika, garlic powder and salt. Then dredged in 1 cup flour, 2 whisked eggs, 1 cup panko, 1/2 tablespoon of seasoning in the panko. I threw away a lot of flour where I feel i could use half the amount and still have plenty to throw away. That being said it was delicious

We love crispy fried fish, but hate the mess of deep frying. This air fryer cod comes out nice and crisp without all the grease. I love serving this with french fries from the air fryer for an easy take on fish and chips.

Place the cod on a paper towel lined plate or sheet pan and pat dry.

Add the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon salt to a shallow dish and stir to combine.

Add the egg to a second dish.

Add the panko and remaining teaspoon of salt to a third shallow dish.

Dip each piece of fish first into the flour, then the egg, and finally the panko, pressing to make sure the panko sticks to the fish and fully coats it.

Set your air fryer to 400°F. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes, depending on the thickness of your cod fillets. Flip and cook an additional 4 to 6 minutes or until the cod is cooked through and flaky. The internal temperature of cod needs to reach 145°F on a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the thickest portion.

Transfer the cod to a paper-towel lined plate and sprinkle with salt to taste.

Serve with fresh, minced parsley, lemon slices and/or cocktail or tartar sauce, if desired.

This Air Fryer Fish and Chips recipe comes out crispy and delicious every time. Golden, flaky white fish is paired with homemade fries for an easy air fryer meal that&#39;s made with with less oil than traditional frying. 

Air Fryer Fish and Chips

all purpose flour (divided)

cornstarch

baking soda

beer (I used a light lager)

Soak potatoes

Soak the potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes, and up to 3 hours. If soaking for longer than 30 minutes, change the water at least once during the soak time.

Prepare the potatoes

To make the homemade fries, drain the water from the potatoes and dry them very well with a towel. Spray the basket of your air fryer generously with cooking oil spray. Place the fries in the basket and spray the tops with more oil.

Air fry the potatoes

Air fry the potatoes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 7 minutes. Toss, then fry again for 7 more minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Remove to a serving dish and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.

Make the coatings

To make the fish, whisk ½ cup of the flour and all of the cornstarch together in a shallow bowl. In a separate large bowl, stir together the remaining 1 cup of flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and baking soda. Pour in the beer and whisk to combine.

Coat the fish

Dredge each piece of fish in the flour mixture, then submerge each in the batter, dripping off any excess batter. Place the fish pieces back in the flour mixture and sprinkle with more flour to fully coat, shaking off excess.

Add the fish to the air fryer

Place a sheet of parchment paper in the basket of your air fryer and generously spray it with cooking oil spray. Carefully place the coated fish into the basket. The fish pieces can be touching but not overlapping.

Air fry the fish

Spray the tops of the fish VERY WELL with cooking oil spray (you want them to be thoroughly coated) then air fry at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes. Open the air fryer basket halfway through the cooking time and spray the fish again very well, then finish air frying.

Serve the fish and chips with freshly minced parsley and lemon slices for garnish, along with tartar sauce and ketchup for dipping, if desired.

They were good but didn’t really taste like fired version. The bottom of the fish were wet and soggy from the parchment paper trapping the moisture. Not sure how yours look fried all the way around.

Great recipe. I made it last night, and I really enjoyed it. The breading was nice and crispy without all the grease, and that was huge for me.

I was surprised how good this turned out using an air fryer! I really followed all the steps and it came out really well.

Making this at home was so much cheaper and a little bit healthier than going out. Took a bit of time to prepare but we enjoyed it.
