Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan with oil, or line with parchment paper.

Mix dry ingredients

In a medium/large mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and salt.

Add wet ingredients

Add the applesauce, maple syrup and milk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Don&#8217;t overmix.

Bake

Pour batter into prepared loaf pan, optionally top with a small handful of whole or quick oats, place pan in oven and bake for 55 minutes. Let cool before slicing.

Store

Keep leftovers covered for 4 days. To keep longer, store in the refrigerator for 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

I made this bread and it's delicious! I used my homemade organic unsweetened almond milk and it was perfectly moist. The extra touch of sprinkled oats on top give it such a special homemade look. It would be great to give as gifts, especially in the Fall, but anytime! Thanks for this recipe!

PS: I'm going to try to sweeten it next time with date paste in place of maple syrup, which I do with a lot of recipes.

This simple recipe makes a delicious breakfast bread! I’m making for the second time and will try replacing some of the applesauce with mashed banana, since I have some on hand.

What a wonderful recipe! I just tried it, but I replaced the maple syrup with more applesauce (about 1/3 cup). I also added raisins. Both the texture and taste were great! This is definitely becoming a house favorite! I might also try to mix the spelt flour with a little bit of buckwheat flour next time... applesauce (about 220-250 grams), at room temperature

Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease a 5x9-inch loaf pan (1 lb. loaf pan) with cooking spray oil.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients including flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk together until evenly distributed and set aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk well to combine all the wet ingredients including applesauce, oil, yogurt, and eggs until smooth.

Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and mix together using a spatula until just combined and no dry ingredients are visible. Do not overmix. Overmixing will make the cake dense and hard rather than fluffy.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-55 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Let cool for 10-15 minutes, then invert the pan onto a cooling rack or plate to remove the loaf. Serve warm or at room temperature. Drizzle with honey if desired.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an 8 or 9-inch loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.
