A super easy side dish featuring fresh, nutrient-packed broccoli drenched in a savory Asian-inspired garlic sauce.

Broccoli with Asian-Style Garlic Sauce

broccoli florets (1 large bunch)

garlic

Tbsp. toasted sesame oil (*oil-free option below)

Tbsp. tamari (or soy sauce)

vegetable broth

cornstarch (or arrowroot

Optional topping: sesame seeds, red pepper flakes

Mince garlic.

In a bowl, add garlic, tamari (or soy sauce), broth, and cornstarch. Whisk to combine.

In a large skillet over med-high, add sesame oil and heat for a minute.

Carefully add broccoli florets. Cook for about 4 minutes, stirring often to prevent burning.

Reduce heat to med-low, then and add garlic sauce. Stir well to coat.

Cook for about 3 minutes, or until broccoli is desired tenderness. (The sauce will thicken and absorb into the broccoli.)

30 Minute Asian Turkey Meatballs. Baked and tossed in an Asian inspired sauce. Serve as an appetizer or add rice to make it a meal!

Asian Turkey Meatballs

turkey

panko breadcrumbs

garlic (minced)

onion

sesame oil

soy sauce

hoisin sauce

water

green onions

sesame seeds for serving (if desired)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add turkey, breadcrumbs, garlic, green onions, egg, sesame oil and soy sauce. Mix with your hands until combined.

Grease a baking sheet with oil. Portion out 12 meatballs. (Working with slightly wet hands helps)

Place meatballs on the oiled baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes or until fully cooked, flipping halfway through.

Take out of the oven and toss with the Asian sauce.

Serve immediately and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Add all of the ingredients to a medium bowl and stir to combine. Set aside until meatballs are done cooking.

Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets and set aside.

Make the garlic sauce: mince garlic. Then in a small bowl, combine all sauce ingredients. Whisk to combine.

Wash and cut the tomato into cubes and set aside as well.

Heat the oil in a pan and, when it is lukewarm, add the garlic and ginger, lower the heat and stir for a couple of minutes so that it does not burn.

Then add the tomato, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper and cumin and cook for 10 minutes over low heat. When the tomato is cooked, remove from the heat.

Transfer the mixture to the blender glass, add the chopped cilantro and blend until obtaining a smooth sauce. Once the sauce is ready, serve it together with the dishes that you want to accompany with it.
