These were the hit of the party! I baked at 400 for 18 minutes then broiled for 5 min. They were perfect, so attractive, and super tasty. A keeper for sure.

When we do bacon wrapped foods, we cook the bacon for a short while first - until about 1/2 done.  That way you don't have to cook the appetizers an extra amount of time and taking a chance the stuffing will get burned.

While cooking & chatting with a good friend, about recipes of course, with our love for cream cheese & another great ingredient bacon, we decided to create these amazing little appetizers. Taking bread as the vessel & adding a cream cheese mixture, wrapping in bacon and seasoning with Old Bay. These turned out fabulous. They have become the most requested, first to disappear & most talked about appetizer at my gatherings. Make several batches for the big game; everyone gobbles them up. I've made these a couple hours to overnight and refrigerated them before cooking. Then cook as guests arrive.

Smoked Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings; Spicy Sriracha Onion Rings

lbs Bacon

Cut onions into 1/2 inch thick rings and pop the internal rings out until you have a nice sturdy onion ring.

Brush onion with hot sauce.

Wrap each onion ring with bacon and secure with a skewer or toothpick.

Heavily cover the onion rings with pepper and smoke, grill or bake for about 90 minutes at 250-350 degrees.

To make the spicy sriracha mayo, combine 2 T of mayo, 1 T of sriracha sauce, and 1 tsp of lime juice. Mix well.

If you’re like me, you either have a freezer full of venison from last year’s hunting season or about to fill it up with this season’s harvest. My husband and son are avid hunters and we process our own meat which helps on the grocery bill and I love the guarantee there’s no added water, coloring, chemicals, or hormones. Backstrap is excellent cooked and served medium-rare but my family prefers medium.

Bacon-Wrapped Venison Backstrap Roast

Place the roast in a large zip-top plastic bag and add the marinade. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator at least 2 hours up to 24 hours or overnight, turning once.

Preheat oven to 375°. Remove the roast from the bag and drain. Discard the marinade.

Arrange 8 to 10 pieces of bacon side by side, slightly overlapping, on a work surface or cutting board to make it 1 inch longer on both ends than the length of the backstrap or tenderloin.

Place the roast on top of the bacon toward the lower third, not right in the center. Then, pull up the shorter pieces of bacon up to the backstrap on one side, then pull the longer pieces up and over the backstrap. Lift up the backstrap and tuck the longer pieces under the bottom of the backstrap.

Place in a small, greased aluminum foil-lined roasting pan or baking dish. Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes for medium-rare or 25 to 30 minutes for medium. Let roast stand in the pan 10 minutes. I often put the pan under the broiler the last 3 minutes to be sure and get the bacon crispy.

Let the roast stand at 5 to 7 minutes.  Cut roast on a cutting board and transfer to a serving platter.

Bake in preheated oven until bacon is starting to crisp (around 30 minutes or so). Remove from oven and, using a basting brush, dab sauce all over each appetizer. Return to oven and continue cooking until bacon is crisp and sauce is sticky and thick, another 10-15 minutes.

- 2 Green Bell Pepper, Diced

Smoke the bacon

Preheat your grill to a medium-high heat: 350°F to 450°F. Before placing anything on the grill, generously oil the cooking grids, using a cloth and vegetable oil.

Heat your grill to medium-high heat.

Lay a slice of bacon on a cutting board.

Roll the bacon and hot dog around until the bacon covers the whole hot dog. Secure with a toothpick on each end.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 again, by wrapping each hot dog with one strip of bacon, and secure with a toothpick on each end.

Cook the bacon wrapped hot dogs on the grill. When the bacon is lightly crisp, remove from the heat. This takes about 4-6 minutes.

Toast the buns by turning the grill up to high. Open the flame broiler. Place bun face down on cooking grids. Toast until desired done.

As soon as the hot dogs are done, place them on a toasted bun, pile on the chopped green peppers, and serve.

Bacon-Wrapped Peppadew Poppers

bacon (not thick-cut), halved lengthwise, then crosswise

cream cheese, room temperature

Peppadew peppers, drained upside-down on paper towels

Bacon wrapped air fryer steak with a dry rub is amazing for dinner! No need for a grill or oven anymore. Use your Ninja Foodi to get a tender steak in just 18 minutes this way! 

Air Fryer Steak

bacon (if you choose to wrap them)

tbsp salt (coarse ground)

tsp chili powder

tsp pepper

garlic powder

onion powder

Mix seasonings together until combined well.

Lay steaks on cutting board and sprinkle half seasoning mix on 1 side of both steaks, pat down so it sticks. Flip over and do the same until seasonings are gone.

Lay 3 pieces of bacon down horizontally, lined up next to one another but not overlapping.

Lay 1 steak on top of the bacon in the middle. Wrap top piece around and under steak. Do this with 2nd piece, then with 3rd piece pull last side up and tuck it under one of the other pieces of bacon so they don't all unravel.

Do the same for your 2nd steak. Lay both bacon wrapped steaks inside your air fryer basket.

Preheat your air fryer at 375 degrees for 5 minutes, then put basket with steaks inside and set for a total of 18 minutes.

After 9 minutes flip both steaks so other side can cook and crisp bacon.

Allow steaks to rest for 3-5 minutes to stay juicy, then serve.

Air fryer steak

This simple-to-make dish is borderline irresistible and will quickly become a favorite for you to cook in your Ninja Foodi Grill or air fryer. The balance of spice from the jalapeno pepper with the creaminess of the cream cheese and salty bacon makes your mouth yearn for another bite.

Ninja Foodi Grill Recipe: Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

Jalapeno poppers halved lengthwise

cream cheese

barbecue seasoning

Cut the jalapeno peppers lengthwise into two halves

Use a small spoon to scrape and remove all seeds and white veins or other ribs from the pepper

Use a butter knife to cut the cream cheese into a small block that will fit inside the pepper, about 2 tablespoons

Stuff the pepper with the cream cheese by pressing it into the pepper cavity

Sprinkle with BBQ seasoning

Starting at the stem side of the jalapeno pepper wrap the bacon around the cheese to hold it in place stretching the bacon slightly as you wrap

Sprinkle the remaining BBQ seasoning on the bacon wrapping the peppers

Preheat your Ninja Foodi Grill or air fryer to 350F

Place the peppers in the cooker in a single row

Cook for about 10 minutes or until the bacon is cooked to your desired doneness.

Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs

Wrap each hot dog in one slice of bacon. If needed, secure bacon with a toothpick.

Arrange hot dogs in air fryer basket in an even layer with space between each for air to flow.

Air fry at 380 degrees for 10 minutes, or until bacon is as crisp as you’d like.

Place hot dogs in buns and serve with your desired toppings.

This pineapple appetizer can be served hot or cold and is made with just four ingredients!

Bacon Wrapped Pineapple

bacon (cut in half)

dark brown sugar

soy sauce

Preheat oven to 400F

Wrap each chunk pineapple in 1/2 slice bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on a bakings sheet fitted with a baking rack.

In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar and soy sauce.

Brush each bacon wrapped pineapple in the brown sugar mixture.

Bake for 25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy.

Serve hot or cold.

Bacon-Wrapped Smoked Meatloaf

bread ((see notes))

red bell pepper (diced)

egg (lightly beaten)

basil (dried)

oregano (dried)

red pepper flakes

salt and freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)

First, soak the cedar plank in water for at least 30 minutes. Naturally, the plank will try to float, so you may need to use something to weigh it down.

Place the two slices of bread into a bowl. Pour the milk over the slices; turn the bread to coat with the milk. Allow the bread to sit and absorb the milk for about 5 minutes while chopping the vegetables and slicing the cheese for the meatloaf.

After chopping, squeeze the excess milk from the slices of bread with your hand like you would a washrag (Glamourous I know). Then break the bread into bite-size bits.

In a large mixing bowl, use wet hands (see notes) to knead together the ground beef, ground pork, onion, bell pepper, egg, bread, Worcestershire sauce, basil, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Dump the mixture out onto a clean work surface. I found that a large sheet of freezer paper works well at keeping the counter clean, and it also aids in rolling the meatloaf mixture into a loaf. You could also use parchment or wax paper.

Use wet hands or a rolling pin; press the meatloaf mixture into a ½–inch thick square shape on the clean work surface.

Place the slices of cheese into the flattened meatloaf mixture. Then roll the flattened meatloaf over, tucking the cheese inside to form a loaf.

Place one hand on each end of the loaf and gently squeeze to shape the meatloaf mixture to shorten the loaf as needed. Freezer paper comes in handy to help roll the meatloaf mixture over.

Make A Bacon Weave (see video below):

Start by laying 7 or 8 slices of bacon tight against each other, horizontally in rows on a sheet of parchment paper or butcher’s paper. If the bacon is larger at one end than the other, alternate the direction the bacon slices end to end can compensate for any curve so that the weave will be more square. The width of the bacon slices should match the length of the strips.

Begin to build the weave by folding back every other strip half onto itself. Lay one strip of bacon perpendicular to those folded strips, flush up against the back of the folds. Unfold the folded row of strips back over the perpendicular slice of bacon.

Next, fold back every other strip that wasn’t folded back before. Lay one strip of bacon perpendicular to those strips, tightly up against the back of the folds. Then unfold the folded strips back over the perpendicular strip of bacon.

Repeat the process, continuing to weave the bacon, alternately folding and unfolding the horizontal over the perpendicular strips of bacon. When the weave is complete, there should be the same number of strips going down as there are going across.

Chill the bacon weave until needed.
