There are many ways you can cook asparagus﻿, but roasting is our absolute favorite. When the stalks darken and crisp, they're not burning, they're developing more flavor.  Here's to cook perfect asparagus every time. ﻿

Oven-Roasted Asparagus

Be honest: Do you have a veggie side with each dinner?

I love this but I think I put too much olive oil! Mine were not crisp at all, too soggy but still good. Maybe a higher heat first or put oil in pan then bake pan to get hot before putting the veggies in? I usually sauté. Is there special baking pans or should I use a cookie sheet?

I start with a plastic bag. Shake in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and then add your best olive oil. Massage bag to combine the spices with the oil, and add the asparagus. Toss all together till every piece is coated and turn out onto a sheet pan. I roast at 400 degrees for about 10 min. till crisp tender, and no more. 
Always perfect.

Recipe was easy yet I used my Spanish Olive Oil +added some of the Italian extra virgin Olive Oil, that I purchase @ the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival  every year.  I also added the juice from a fresh lemon and about 2 very well diced garlic cloves to add to the flavor.  Also, I usually always use freshly grind my salt and my pepper (my pepper being a multi blend of many types of different peppercorns).

I prefer roasting in the oven at a lower temperature, starting at around 350 for about 15 to 20 minutes and then turn it down to 250 degrees for about another 15 minutes. Also I use real butter, real garlic, pink salt and fresh ground peppercorn medley. I have a question, who knows what fresh herbs are good with asparagus?

If you only roast for 10 minutes you won't get the charred yumminess! If it doesn't look charred enough at 25 minutes, I'll leave it in longer!

Roasted Asparagus Is One Of The Easiest & Most Delicious Sides Ever

This cheesy baked asparagus is hands down my new favorite keto side dish. It&#039;s easy, delicious, and takes less than 20 minutes to make.

Ham and Cheese Baked Asparagus

asparagus spears

avocado oil

garlic (minced)

Salt and pepper

cheddar cheese, grated

mozzarella

ham (diced)

Preheat the oven to 400F. Wash and trim the woody ends from the asparagus. Pat dry well.

Lay the asparagus on a rimmed baking sheet and drizzle with the oil. Sprinkle with the salt and pepper and toss to combine, then spread out into a single layer.

Sprinkle with the minced garlic and bake 8 minutes, until the asparagus is tender and bright green.

Remove from the oven and turn on the broiler. Sprinkle the aspargus with the grated cheeses and diced ham.

Return to the oven on the second highest rack position and broil 2 to 4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and beginning to brown.

Lemon Parmesan Asparagus

asparagus spears (ends trimmed)

butter (melted)

juice of 1 small lemon

garlic powder

salt

parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400 °F and lightly grease baking pan.

Place spears in a large bowl and drizzle with melted butter. Toss to coat. Arrange asparagus in single layer on prepared baking sheet.

Juice lemon over asparagus, being careful to not let loose seeds fall. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and parmesan cheese.

Bake for 15-20 minutes until asparagus is tender and cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

Garlic Parmesan Baked Asparagus Recipe

asparagus

tsp kosher salt

tsp black pepper

panko bread crumbs

tbsp butter

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Toss the asparagus with the olive oil to coat.

Arrange the asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet being sure to leave room in between the stalks to they roast and don&#x27;t steam.

Season the asparagus with salt and pepper. Set aside.

In a bowl, combine the panko, butter, cheese, garlic and garlic powder.

Sprinkle the panko mixture evenly over the asparagus. Transfer to the oven.

Bake the asparagus for 10-12 minutes or until tender and the topping is golden brown.

Serve immediately.

Cheesy Baked Asparagus with Gruyere cheese, Garlic, and Bacon

Gruyere cheese ((or Parmesan), shredded)

bacon ((cooked and chopped))

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Trim asparagus ends. Place asparagus in a medium-size casserole dish, drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Top with minced garlic.

Bake, uncovered, in the preheated oven at 400 F for 10 minutes.  Remove from the oven.

Sprinkle half of shredded Gruyere cheese (or Parmesan) all over asparagus.  Then, add chopped cooked bacon.  Top with the remaining half of shredded cheese.

Bake for 10 more minutes, uncovered at 400 F.  Serve immediately while the cheese is nice and melty!

Parmesan Baked Asparagus

On a baking tray, line up your asparagus. Pour the oil/ butter over top and sprinkle on the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Toss to coat and rearrange the asparagus so it is in a single layer.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle on the parmesan cheese. Bake an additional 5 minutes or until tender.

At 77 and a widower I do my own cooking now. I never realized how much my lovely wife spent cooking fantastic meals. WELL, now I KNOW, LOTS.....
