Recipe VIDEO above. A fabulous quick stir fry made using beef mince (ground beef) &lt;&lt;-- No slicing meat! It's not saucy like usual stir fries, you don't need sauce because the beef mixes through the rice, and it has plenty of flavour and it's JUICY. Great recipe to add diced or julienned veggies!

Asian Beef Bowls

tbsp Hoisin Sauce ((or sub with Oyster))

Mix Sauce together in a bowl

Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add garlic and onion, cook for 1 minute or until onion starts browning.

Add beef and cook, breaking it up as you go.

Once the beef has all changed from red to brown, add Sauce. Cook for a further 2 minutes, or until Sauce has evaporated and beef is cooked. If you want the beef cooked more, add a splash of water and keep cooking (I don't do this).

Stir through shallots, then serve over rice, garnished with more shallots and sesame seeds, if desired. Or for a low carb, low cal option, try Cauliflower Rice!

Heat the oil in a pan, add the onion and cook for 5 mins. Add the garlic and beef, turn up the heat and cook until the meat is browned. Add the potato, half the turmeric, the purée and thyme, plus 200ml water. Cover and simmer for 15 mins, then remove the lid and cook for 5 mins more. Add the hot pepper sauce and leave to cool.

Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Roll out the pastry to the thickness of a £1 coin. Cut out 6 x 15cm circles, using a small plate as a guide. Divide the mince between the circles, piling it up on one side. Mix the egg with the remaining turmeric, brush around the edge of each circle, then fold over and use a fork to seal the edges. Arrange on a baking tray lined with baking parchment, brush with a little more egg and bake for 20-25 mins. Serve with a green salad.

The best Mexican Meatballs are spiced with Mexican flavours and made with:1. crushed corn chips instead of breadcrumbs (more flavour!);2. a combination of beef AND pork (softer and tastier); and3. are browned in the oven then simmered in the chipotle tomato sauce for a winning flavour exchange: meatball juices leech into the sauce, and the meatballs absorb the sauce flavour. Win win!Spiciness: Chipotle powder and fresh jalapeno in meatballs gives it a warm buzz but definitely not spicy. Same for chipotle chilli in sauce. Feel free to reduce both and add a pinch of paprika in its place.

Preheat oven to 220°C/390°F (200°C fan). Place a rack over a tray. Spray rack with oil.

Blitz corn chips: Place corn chips in a Nutribullet or food processor. Blitz until they become fine crumbs. (Else put in a ziplock bag and bash!)

Meatball mixture: Place  meatball ingredients and meatball Mexican spices in a bowl and mix well with your hands.

Roll meatballs: Roll into 3 - 3.5cm / 1.2 - 1.4&quot; balls. Place on rack. Should make around 20 - 24 meatballs.

Bake 10 minutes: Spray meatballs generously with oil. Bake 10 minutes until browned (they will still be raw inside, we finish cooking them in the sauce).

While the meatballs are in the oven, start the sauce.

Sauté garlic and chipotle: Heat oil over medium high heat in a large skillet. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add chopped Adobo Chile and sauté for 20 seconds.

Simmer 5 minutes: Add tomato, Adobo sauce and sugar. Bring to simmer, then turn heat down to low and cook, stirring every now and then, for 5 minutes.

Sauce:

Cook meatballs in sauce: Remove meatballs from oven and transfer into sauce. Continue to cook the sauce for another 10 minutes, rolling meatballs every now and then, until the sauce is thickened and the meatballs are cooked.

Fresh coriander: Sprinkle with chopped coriander/cilantro.

Serving: Serve over rice or stuff into tortillas with toppings of choice!

You can&#8217;t beat proper homemade meatballs cooked in a rich tomato sauce. This is our go-to recipe; it may look simple but it tastes incredible. It&#8217;s a perfect dinner party recipe for everyone to tuck in to. Once you&#8217;ve mastered this simple recipe, try our Italian baked meatballs with garlic baguettes.

Beef meatballs in tomato sauce

spring onions, finely chopped

Put 1 tbsp of the oil into a pan, add the spring onion and cook for about 5 minutes until soft. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.

Put the beef mince and half the onion into a large bowl. In a small bowl, lightly whisk the egg with a fork, then add to the meat and onion. Season and mix everything together with your hands – you can use a fork but it is more fun using your hands.

Divide the mixture evenly into 8 balls. Sprinkle the flour onto a plate, then roll each meatball in the flour. Chill for 10 minutes.

Heat the remaining oil in a frying pan, add the meatballs and cook for 5 minutes without moving them. Using tongs, carefully turn them over and cook for another 5 minutes.

Mix the tomatoes, cumin and tomato purée and remaining spring onion together, then add to the pan. Cover and cook gently for 25 minutes until the meatballs are cooked.

Firecracker Beef

Sauce: Mix Firecracker sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.

Cook beef: Heat oil in a large frypan over high heat. Add beef and cook, breaking it up as you go, until you can no longer see raw meat (2½ minutes). Add garlic and chilli flakes and cook for 1 minute.

Caramelise beef: Add Firecracker sauce ingredients, stir to coat the beef. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring only every minute or so initially, then more towards the end, until the sauce reduces and you can see the beef caramelising. Caramelise well for good flavour!

Water: Add the water and cook for 1 minute (the water makes the beef saucier!)

Serve over rice, sprinkled with sesame seeds, green onion and a squirt of extra sriracha if you&#39;re feeling brave! Add a pile of vegetables of choice on the side. Dive in!

Salisbury steak meatballs with mushroom gravy

panko breadcrumbs ((Note 1))

250 g / 8 oz mushrooms (, sliced)

tsp each cooking/kosher salt & pepper

beef stock (, low sodium)

Grated onion - Place the breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Using a standard box grater, grate the onion over the panko so it soaks in. Mix through.

Meatball mixture - Add remaining Meatball ingredients and mix well with your hands until thoroughly combined.

Roll balls - Roll 20 to 22 balls (1 1/2 tablespoons of mixture). I use an ice cream scoop with lever, handy!

Meatballs:

Slurry - Mix ingredients in a bowl until smooth. We will use this to thicken the gravy (no lumpy gravy, yay!)

Brown meatballs - Heat the oil in a large skillet over high heat. Cook meatballs, using tablespoons to roll (to minimise deforming) until browned on the outside but still raw inside. Remove onto a plate and set aside.

Sauté mushrooms - Melt butter in the same skillet still on high. Cook mushrooms until they start to soften (~ 2 minutes). Add salt, pepper and the garlic, then cook for a further 2 minutes until the garlic is golden and mushrooms are soft.

Make gravy - Add beef stock, salt, pepper and slurry, then stir to combine.

Simmer meatballs - Once the liquid starts to simmer, add meatballs and any juices pooled on the plate. Adjust heat to medium so it&#39;s simmering gently and cook for 5 minutes until gravy is thickened and meatballs are cooked through.

Serve over mash sprinkled with parsley if desired.

Mix Sauce ingredients in a small bowl, then set aside.

Scramble eggs - Heat sesame oil in a large wok or non-stick pan over medium high heat. Add egg and cook, stirring gently, so it is softly scrambled. Remove onto a plate.

Cook beef - Heat vegetable oil in the same pan over high heat. Add onion and garlic, cook for 30 seconds. Add beef and cook, breaking it up as you go, for 2 minutes or until you no longer see raw beef. Add 2 tablespoons of sauce and cook for 1 minute.

Veg / caramelise beef - Add frozen vegetables and cook for 2 minutes or until the beef gets nicely caramelised - this is the trick to great flavour so do not shortcut this!

Rice &amp; sauce - Add rice and remaining sauce. Toss for 2 minutes until the sauce is well dispersed throughout the rice and the rice grains start to caramelise a bit.

Egg &amp; green onion - Then add scrambled eggs and green onion, give it a quick toss to disperse then divide between bowls. EAT!

Mix spices in a small bowl.

Saute onion &amp; garlic: Heat oil in a large pot over medium high heat. Cook onion and garlic for 3 minutes until golden on the edges.

Brown &amp; spice beef: Turn heat up to high, add beef and cook until it&#039;s no longer red, breaking it up as you go. Add 2 tablespoons of the Spice Mix and cook it for a further 2 minutes - it will smell so good!

Carrot &amp; celery: Add carrot and celery, then stir for 1 minute. (If using your own veg mix, add the veg in this step that will hold up to full 25 min simmer time)

Make broth: Add water, beef stock, canned tomato, lentils and remaining Spice Mix too. Give it a stir, bring to simmer, then place lid on and reduce to medium low so it&#039;s simmering gently. Lentils will take 25 - 30 minutes to cook until soft. Very old lentils can take 5 - 10 minutes longer.

Simmer 15 minutes then add zucchini &amp; green beans.

Simmer 10 minutes longer or until lentils are soft (ie. 25 minutes total).

Serve! Taste and add more salt if desired. Ladle into bowls and serve with yogurt and coriander.

Sauce - Mix ingredients in a small bowl then set aside. Some is used to flavour the beef, then the rest for the noodles.

Sauce thickener (cornflour slurry) - Mix the cornflour / cornstarch and water in a separate small bowl.

Prepare noodles per packet directions then drain.

Cook beef - Heat the oil in a large non-stick pan over high heat. Cook garlic for 10 seconds, then add the beef and cook until you can no longer see pink. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of the Sauce and the white part of the green onions. Cook for another 2 minutes to get the beef nicely caramelised.

Finish sauce - Mix the cornflour slurry into the remaining sauce.

Egg - Add the egg into the pan then mix it through the beef, it will sort of scramble. Egg makes the noodles stick to the noodles better!

Cabbage &amp; carrot - When the egg is mostly cooked, add the carrot and cabbage. Cook for 1 minute until cabbage starts to wilt.

Sauce &amp; noodles - Give the sauce a quick mix. Add the bean sprouts, noodles and sauce into the pan. Toss well for 1 minute or until sauce is dispersed through the noodles. Add green part of green onions. Toss for another 1 minute.
