Homemade Chick-Fil-A Sandwiches Recipe

Kosher salt (see note)

Dissolve 1/2 cup kosher salt (see note) and 1/4 cup sugar in 1 quart of cold water. Place chicken breasts in a zipper-lock bag and add brine. Transfer to refrigerator and let sit for at least 6 hours and up to overnight.

Meanwhile, combine paprika, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and MSG (if using), in a small bowl. Set aside

Whisk together milk and eggs in a medium bowl. Set aside.

Combine flour, non-fat milk powder, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, 2 teaspoons sugar, and 2 tablespoons of spice mixture in a large bowl and whisk until homogenous. Drizzle 3 tablespoons milk/egg mixture into flour mixture and rub with fingertips until the flour mixture is coarse like wet sand.

In a large wok, deep fryer, or Dutch oven, preheat oil to 350°F.

Remove chicken breasts from brine and pat dry with paper towels. Season on all sides with remaining spice mixture. Transfer to milk mixture and turn to coat. Working one cutlet at a time, allow excess milk mixture to drip off then transfer to flour mixture. Turn to coat, pile extra mixture on top of cutlet, and press down firmly to adhere as much mixture as possible to the meat. Lift cutlet, shake off excess flour, then slowly lower into hot oil. Repeat with remaining breasts.

Cook, turning breasts occasionally until golden brown and crisp on all sides, and chicken is cooked through, about 4 minutes total. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

Place 2 pickles on each bottom bun and a fried chicken cutlet on top. Close sandwiches, then cover with an overturned bowl or aluminum foil and allow to rest for 2 minutes to steam buns. Serve immediately.

Copycat Chick-Fil-A Mac And Cheese You Have To Try

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook for 20 minutes, until the macaroni is very soft and plump. Drain the macaroni in a colander and set aside. Do not rinse it with water. If the pasta is cooked before the cheese sauce is finished, toss it with a little cooking oil to keep the noodles from sticking together.

Meanwhile, make the cheese sauce by melting the butter in a large pot over medium heat. When the butter is bubbly and melted, about 2 minutes, add the flour. Cook, stirring constantly, until the roux is frothy and smells nutty, about 3 to 5 minutes.

In a small bowl, combine the water and nonfat dry milk powder and whisk until the powder is incorporated. Slowly whisk the milk mixture into the roux and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 10 minutes, until the liquid has thickened.

Place the egg yolk in a small bowl. Add 1/2 cup of the hot milk to the egg yolk, whisking as you add to keep the yolk from scrambling. Add a second 1/2 cup of hot milk, whisking until it's incorporated, before adding the warm egg-milk mixture back to the pot.

Remove the pot from the heat. Working quickly to keep the milk from cooling down too much, add the cheese one handful at a time, starting with the torn American cheese and moving on to the grated cheeses after the American is fully incorporated. Stir constantly until the cheese is melted before adding the next handful of cheese.

When all the cheese is added and incorporated, stir in the salt, paprika, turmeric, and annatto.

Pour the cheese sauce over the cooked macaroni and stir gently to combine. Portion the mac and cheese into individual bowls. Top with additional grated cheddar cheese and melt the cheese under the broiler, if desired.

In a large bowl, combine chicken, 1/2 cup milk and pickle juice. Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 20-60 minutes or overnight, the longer the better. Remove from fridge and and an egg to the mixture.

Heat peanut oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Now for this step you can either use a ziplock bag or simply dip the chicken into the flour mixture (in a bowl) and then place in oil. In a gallon sized ziplock bag, mix the flour, powdered sugar, and spices until well combined. Add the chicken pieces (without liquid) and shake well until fully coated.

Working in batches, add chicken to the skillet and cook until evenly golden and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack or plate lined with paper towels.

Serve immediately with honey mustard.

Whisk together mayonnaise, mustard, honey and lemon juice in a small bowl; set aside in the fridge for later.

Chicken Nuggets Recipe

chicken breast

Start by placing your chicken in a large zip close bag and adding in the pickle juice and milk. Smoosh around to get all the chicken coated and let sit for 20 to 30 minutes.Meanwhile heat at least an inch deep of oil to 350 degrees F.

Combine the flour, breadcrumbs, powdered sugar, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix thoroughly.

Drain the marinade from the chicken and discard. Dip each piece of chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, coating completely, and then carefully add to the fryer.Cook in small batches so you do not decrease the temperature of the oil.

Fry for 3 to 5 minutes, until the chicken is a deep golden brown, then place chicken on a wire cooling rack to cool slightly. Keep cooking until all chicken is done. Enjoy!

Grilled Chick-Fil-A Nuggets

Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. Place in a bowl with pickle juice and milk. Marinate for 30 minutes.

Remove from marinade and pat dry.

In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and Chicken Rub. Sprinkle all over chicken.

Heat grill to high. Grill chicken for 3 minutes per side until cooked through.

Egg White Grill (Copycat Chick Fil A)

English muffins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Add cooking spray to grease a muffin tin.

Pour 1/4 cup of egg whites into 6 of the muffin tins.

Add the chicken breast on a greased baking sheet.

Place the pans of egg whites and chicken into the oven. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

While the egg whites and chicken are baking, prepare the rest of the sandwiches.

Cut the English muffins in half. Add a slice of cheese on 1/2 of the English muffin.

When the chicken and egg whites are finished cooking, add one of each onto a sandwich.

Wrap the finished sandwiches in aluminum foil until ready to eat.

When ready to eat: heat up the sandwich by broiling in the oven until warm.

Apple Pecan Salad with Apple Cider Vinaigrette

spring mix

EverCrisp Apples, cored and thinly sliced

blue cheese crumbles

cranberries

brown sugar

pecan halves

cinnamon

olive oil

apple cider vinegar

white vinegar

lime juice

pineapple juice

honey

Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small skillet over medium heat, add the butter, brown sugar, salt, and water.  Stir until the butter and sugar has melted. Add the pecans and cook, stirring very frequently, for about 3 minutes - being cautious not to allow the mixture to scorch.

Remove from the heat and add the cinnamon. Stir to combine. Spread the pecans on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes. Allow to cool completely before using on salad.

To make the candied pecans:

Whisk the oil, apple cider vinegar, white vinegar, lime juice, and pineapple juice together. Add the honey, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder and whisk to combine. Set aside.

To make the dressing:

Add the spring mix to a large bowl and top with the apples, blue cheese, candied pecans, and cranberries. Drizzle with the desired dressing amount, then toss and serve.

Copycat Chick-fil-A Market Salad

extra virgin olive oil

smoked paprika

chicken breasts (marinated, cooked, and thinly sliced)

carrot

red cabbage

blueberries

strawberries

Granny Smith apple (diced)

red Gala apple (diced)

blue cheese (crumbled)

pecans

granola

almonds

raisins

craisins

zesty apple cider vinaigrette

Pat chicken dry with paper towels, cover in plastic wrap, and place on a cutting board.  Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to flatten each chicken breast one at a time, then transfer them to a gallon size zip-top bag.

Put all the ingredients for the marinade in a small bowl and whisk them together.  Pour it into the zip-top bag so the chicken is fully covered.  Squish the marinade around in the bag so the chicken is coated.

Place in the fridge for a minimum of six hours or overnight.

Let the chicken rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.  Remove the chicken from the zip-top bag and place on a plate.  Blot off the extra marinade with a paper towel, then discard the marinade and bag.

In a 10 inch cast iron skillet, heat up 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium high heat. (CFA uses peanut oil instead.)  Place one chicken breast in the skillet, reduce the temperature to medium after a minute, and cook for a total of 5 minutes.  Flip once and cook the other side.  Cook until the chicken has an internal temperature of 165 F.  Repeat with the other chicken breast.

Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a plate.  Tent with foil or wax paper and let the meat rest for 5 to 10 minutes.

Once the meat has cooled, slice thinly against the grain.

Chicken Marinade

Put all the ingredients except the olive oil in a small bowl and whisk.

Slowly add the oil while whisking constantly.

Taste and adjust seasonings, adding a bit more honey, lime juice, or black pepper as desired.

Pour into a salad dressing container or small mason jar and store covered in the fridge.

Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette

Place 2 cups of spring mix on each plate.  Sprinkle on the carrots and the red cabbage.

Add the fresh fruit next (the green and red apples, blueberries, and strawberries).

Add the dried fruits (raisins and craisins), the nuts (sliced almonds and candied pecans), and the granola.

Sprinkle on the crumbled blue cheese and place strips of chicken breasts on top of the salad.

When ready to eat, drizzle on the zesty apple cider vinaigrette.  Enjoy immediately.
