How often are you buying rotisserie chickens?

This turned out great! I used Gardein brand vegan teriyaki strips instead of chicken, and replaced the 1 tbsp hoisin sauce with teriyaki sauce. I also cut the oil by a few tablespoons and the dressing was still delicious.

I had to cut some corners but I used this recipe as my salad's staple. The results were very satisfying! The family enjoyed every bite!

Excellent dressing with great flavor for this salad and it was quick and easy to make. The raw ramen noodles were a bit strange - wish I'd seen the suggestions in these comments to toast them.  Will try making again using chow mein noodles.

I love this recipe! My boyfriend and I enjoy it for dinner regularly. We use fake chicken meat (I’m vegetarian) and marinate it in the dressing. Totally delicious. We also like to add dried cranberries for color. I can’t recommend this recipe enough, especially the dressing.

I just made this for a light lunch to tide us over before our big meal this evening. I used green cabbage as that’s what I have and added some toasted sesame seeds.  My family really enjoyed it (who says men don’t like salad) and I can’t wait to make it again. My daughter-in-law asked for the recipe.

Good salad but I wish there were nutritional info on  calories, fat, sodium, etc. since I am counting calories now. Will try and find it online.

You Should Be Adding (Uncooked) Ramen Noodles To Your Salad

I know, I know - low carb salads and guilty pleasures don&#x27;t normally go together, but this is one of my go-to healthy recipes that I literally build my week around.

Chinese Chicken Salad

Cups Lettuce (finely shredded (I use Romain))

Cups Red Cabbage (finely shredded)

Cup Carrots (shredded)

Cup Green Onions (chopped)

Cup Fresh Cilantro (chopped)

Cups Chicken (shredded)

Teaspoons Ginger (grated)

Garlic Cloves (minced)

Tablespoons Soy Sauce

Tablespoons Rice Vinegar

Tablespoon Sesame Oil

Tablespoon Mild Tasting Oil (see notes below)

Teaspoons Swerve

Sesame Seeds

Cup Almonds (slivers. (Can sub for crispy noodles

Cilantro (chopped)

Add all dressing ingredients to a salad shaker or small bowl, shake/mix and set aside.

Add the salad ingredients to a large bowl and toss to combine.

Pour half the dressing over the salad, toss together, and taste. Add more dressing based on your preference. (We usually use 3/4 of the dressing, but it&#039;s easier to add more than remove!).

Top with chopped cilantro, almonds (1 cup) and sesame seeds and enjoy!

Chinese-Inspired Chicken Salad

Napa

red cabbage*

carrots

sugar snap peas, thinly sliced

green onions, white and green parts, thinly sliced

chicken

orange segments (use a 12- to 15-ounce can of mandarin oranges

cilantro

sesame seeds

¼ cup unseasoned rice vinegar

coconut aminos**

avocado oil olive oil

garlic powder

In a large bowl, combine cabbage, carrots, sugar snap peas, green onions, and cooked chicken. Toss well to combine.

In a small bowl or jar combine all of the dressing ingredients. Whisk or shake well to combine. Pour over salad just before serving.

Gently stir in oranges, cilantro, and toasted almonds. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.

This was absolutely delicious! I've shared the recipe with my Whole30 friends and will make it even when I'm not on a Whole30 because it was THAT good.

Make the dressing: In a medium bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, vinegar, peanut butter, soy sauce, sesame oil, mustard powder, lime juice, honey, sesame seeds, ginger, and garlic. Season with salt and black pepper and set aside.

Make the salad: Into a small heavy-bottomed pot fitted with a deep-fry thermometer, pour the oil to a depth of 2 inches. Turn the heat to medium-high, and when the temperature reads 350˚F, add the wontons. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the strips are crisp, 20–30 seconds. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate.

In a large bowl, toss together the chicken, cilantro, cabbage, and lettuce. Divide the salad among 4–6 serving bowls, then top evenly with the sprouts, peas, scallions, carrot, cucumber, and bell pepper. Drizzle with the dressing, sprinkle on the chile if using, and garnish with the sesame seeds, peanuts, and wonton strips.

Asian Chicken Salad

Napa cabbage (thinly sliced)

red cabbage (thinly sliced)

red pepper (julienned)

carrot (julienned)

green onions (thinly sliced)

Chow mein crunchy noodles (for serving)

In a large bowl, combine the Napa cabbage, red cabbage, shredded chicken, red peppers, carrots, green onions and cilantro.

In a small blender or food processor, blend together the ingredients for the dressing: rice vinegar, soy sauce, peanut butter, sesame seed oil, garlic and ginger. Taste and season with salt if needed.

Pour the dressing over the bowl of cabbage and vegetables, and toss to combine. Divide into four bowls and top with crunchy noodles, if desired.

Start by preparing the homemade Asian salad dressing so the flavors have a chance to meld together nicely.

After shredding the chicken breast, add it to a large mixing bowl. Drizzle half of the salad dressing directly on top of the chicken. With kitchen tongs, mix these ingredients together. Let the chicken sit and soak in all of that goodness while you finish prepping the remainder of the recipe.

Add the shredded romaine lettuce, iceburg lettuce, carrots and red cabbage to the mixing bowl. Add in the sliced green onions and chopped cilantro leaves. With tongs, toss the ingredients until well combined.

Generously garnish your Chinese chicken salad with sesame seeds, dried chili flakes, almonds, cashew halves and wonton strips. To keep your salad nice and crisp, do not add the remainder of the Asian dressing until serving time.

Place the salad dressing carafe with the remainder of the Asian dressing beside the serving bowl. As they serve themselves, family and guests can drizzle the dressing on top. Enjoy!

The salad sounds wonderful and I have all the ingredients to make it.  However, a whole head of iceburg lettuce and a head of romaine lettuce sounds like a lot of lettuce especially since it calls for only 2 cups of chicken.   Is this correct?

This recipe was delicious!  Very easy to make and authentic taste.  Great no cook summer lunch or dinner.  I used Rotisserie  chicken and paired it with potstickers.  Will definitely keep this recipe.

This was so gooooo!  I marinated ahi tuna in a little of the dressing then pan seared. It was a great aubstitute for the chicken.

Made this for dinner last night.  The dressing is very good.  I didn’t have molasses so subbed a little brown sugar.  We included both red and Napa cabbages, as well as red bell peppers.  Topped with sliced almonds and a few wonton strips for crunch.  Very tasty!

chicken thighs (skinless and boneless)

extra virgin olive oil

honey or maple syrup

chili flakes (optional)

garlic (minced)

romaine lettuce (chopped)

Marinate the chicken in teriyaki sauce for 30 minutes.

Add a little bit of oil to a pan, and on medium-high heat cook the chicken until it's charred and reaches 165-170°F (74°C) internal temperature. Remove it from the pan or grill, and slice it into bite-size pieces.

For the Teriyaki Chicken:

Combine all of the ingredients in a jar, screw on the lid and shake well.

For the Dressing:

Chop up the vegetables! Slice the romaine hearts, shred the red cabbage, roughly chop the cilantro, and thinly slice or julienne the carrot.

Add the vegetables and chicken to a bowl, toss with the salad dressing.

Top with cashews and wonton chips right before serving.

For the Salad:

This hearty and flavorful Asian Chicken Salad is made with cabbage, mandarin oranges, cucumbers, bell peppers, almonds, marinated chicken and an easy homemade dressing.

Tablespoons fresh chopped ginger

Sriracha hot sauce (,

red wine vinegar

boneless, skinless breasts

romaine

red, green or napa cabbage

english cucumber (sliced)

bell pepper ((any color), chopped)

can mandarin oranges (drained)

Crunchy chow mein noodles

Whisk together the soy sauce, chopped ginger, olive oil, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, and salt.

Add 3 tablespoon of the marinade to a bowl or large ziplock bag (the rest will be reserved for the dressing). Cut the chicken breasts in half, lengthwise (butterfly), to create 6 thin chicken breast halves. Add to the marinade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 3-4 hours.

To the remaining marinade, add red wine vinegar and sliced green onions, to make a dressing for the salad. Refrigerate. 

Make marinade:

Add lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, carrots, almonds, bell peppers, mandarin oranges and cilantro to a large bowl. 

Grill the chicken on medium high heat, cooking for about 3 minutes on each side, flipping once, until cooked through.

Remove to a cutting board and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Slice the chicken against the grain and add to the salad.

Pour desired amount of dressing on top and toss to combine. Garnish with crunchy wonton strips or chow mein noodles, if desired.
