Make your holiday cooking quick &amp; easy with a crock pot ham! This sweet and savory Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Ham is flavored with pineapple juice and a brown sugar rub featuring Dijon, balsamic vinegar, and honey that melt into an amazing glaze.

Crock Pot Ham | Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Ham

Fully-cooked ham (approximately 7 to 8 pounds (*see Notes below))

pineapple juice

brown sugar

Dijon mustard

balsamic vinegar

honey

cornstarch

water

Remove ham from the packaging and discard any flavoring packet. If using a bone-in ham, check the end of the bone for a plastic cap and, if present, discard.

Pour the pineapple juice in bottom of a large (6.5- to 8-quart), oval slow cooker.

In a medium bowl, mix the brown sugar, Dijon, balsamic vinegar, and honey into a paste. Spread brown sugar mixture all over ham and place, flat side down, in slow cooker.

Cover slow cooker with lid and set to low. Cook ham for 4 to 6 hours or until the meat is tender and the internal temperature reaches 140°F. If desired, flip and baste the ham halfway through cooking time and again about an hour before ham is done.

Once ham is done, remove to a platter and tent with foil to keep warm. Skim any fat and strain the juices from the crock pot into a saucepan. Place the pot on the stove over medium heat and bring the juices to a simmer. In a small bowl, use a fork to stir the cornstarch into the water to make a slurry. Slowly pour the slurry into the pot while whisking the ham juices. Allow the mixture to bubble and thicken for a minute or two, stirring occasionally. If you desire a thicker sauce, you may stir in a bit more cornstarch slurry. Do not add straight cornstarch to the hot liquid or it will clump, and do not over stir the sauce once the cornstarch has been added or it may not thicken properly.

Serve the ham warm, with the sauce on the side or drizzled on top. If you prefer an oven-cooked ham effect, you may also glaze the entire ham with thickened sauce and pop it under the broiler for about 5 minutes (watch it closely!) before serving.

precooked spiral cut ham (bone in)

Whisk together all ingredients except ham. (Or blend if you prefer a smooth glaze).

Place ham in crock pot. Slowly pour glaze over ham, making sure to get some between each spiral slice. Lift ham to get glaze underneath as well.

Cook on low for 2 - 4 hours, until heated through. 

You will need either an 8 quart instant pot or smaller ham (4 - 6 pounds).

Pour 1.5 cups water (in 8 quart) or 1 cup water (in 6 quart) in the inner liner of the pot. Place a cake pan (or create a foil bowl) on top of the trivet.

Slowly pour glaze over ham, making sure to get some between each spiral slice. Lift ham to get glaze underneath as well.

Cook on manual (high pressure) for 1.5 minutes per pound, then allow a natural pressure release for 12 minutes.

1.5kg unsmoked, boneless gammon joint

L (3 ½ pint) coca cola

dark brown sugar

star anise

black peppercorns

Crock Pot Ham with Brown Sugar

Coat a large 7-8 quart crock pot with cooking spray.

Place the ham cut side down in the crock pot.

Rub the brown sugar all over the ham, then pour the maple syrup and pineapple juice over the top.

Cook for 3-4 hours on low heat, or until a thermometer registers 140 degrees F when inserted into the thickest part of the ham.

Transfer the ham to a serving platter.&nbsp;

Pour the liquid from the bottom of the crock pot into a medium sized pan.

Place the pan over medium-high heat and bring the liquid to a simmer.&nbsp;

Cook for 6-8 minutes or until just thickened,

Pour the sauce over the ham. Decorate the serving platter with fresh herbs if desired, then serve.

4-5 lb precooked spiral cut ham

In a 6 quart slow cooker, place the cup of brown sugar all over the bottom. Then drizzle the maple syrup over the brown sugar.

Next, spread open the slices of the ham a bit so the juices can get in to the ham, and then place the ham in the crock pot.

Then pour the pineapple with juice over the ham. Next, I take the mustard and drizzle it over the top of the ham.

Cook the ham on low for 3-4 hours. Before I take the ham out of the crock pot, I will spoon the juices over the entire ham several times.

After you slice the ham, you can also put some of the juices and pineapple over the ham slices.

Melt apple jelly and whisk together remaining glaze ingredients.

Sprinkle ¼ cup brown sugar in the bottom of a 6-7 qt slow cooker.

Add ham and pour glaze overtop ensuring you separate the layers of ham and brush with glaze.

Slow cooker holiday ham recipe made with brown sugar, ground cloves and pineapple, which provides a wonderful sweet and tangy flavor in the tender, juicy ham.

Crock Pot Holiday Ham

First, while your ham is still in the packaging, place it in the crock pot to see how it fits. You may need to cut it into portions to fit it in the crockpot. Then, unwrap it and either place it whole back in the crockpot or cut it into pieces to fit in the crockpot. You can also choose to pre-slice it if you would like.

Next, open the can of sliced pineapple and drain the juice out into a separate bowl. You will use all of the juice so set it aside, do not discard!

Then, measure out the 1/3 cup of brown sugar and add it to the bowl with the pineapple juice, whisking to dissolve.

After that, add in the 1/2 tsp of ground cloves and whisk to combine. Set juice mixture aside.

Now, arrange the slices of pineapple all over the surface of your ham and in between slices if you pre-sliced the ham.

If you chose to included cherries, place them inside the center of the pineapples.

Lastly, pour the pineapple juice mixture over the entire top of the ham and pineapple slices.

Now, place the lid on the crock pot and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours.

How to cook your ham in the Crock Pot

First, while your ham is still in the packaging, place it in the Instant-Pot to see how it fits. You may need to cut it into portions for it to fit. Then, unwrap it and either place it whole back in the Instant Pot or cut it into pieces to fit. You can also choose to pre-slice it if you would like.

Now, arrange the slices of pineapple all over the surface of your ham and in between slices if you pre sliced the ham.

Place the lid on the Instant Pot and make sure pressure valve is closed. Select Manual high pressure and use the ham portion sizes below to set the appropriate time.

How to cook your ham in the Instant Pot

I got the Burn error alert in my Instant Pot rather fast.  Then I realized I didn’t add any water to the instant pot.  Why? Recipe didn’t specify adding it.  The pineapple liquid and brown sugar was supposed to be enough.  

Now I know why most recipes have you tightly seal the ham and glaze in foil, place it on a rack, and add water 1 - 2 cups. The water won’t burn.

Anyway, I took my ham out of the instant pot, cleaned the bottom of the pot, wrapped the ham and glaze tightly in aluminum foil, put it back in the IP on a trivet, added water, sealed the pot and cooked it for 14 minutes.  I did natural release  for 15 minutes, then quick release.  Carefully removed the foil then used a thermometer to ensure internal temp hit 145 degrees (I did).

This will be my second time using your recipe.  We love love it.  We save the bone with meat around it for crockpot beans.  🤗

Since ham from grocery store is pre-cooked, if your ham doesn&#39;t fit and if you don&#39;t need all of it, you can simply cut a portion off and refrigerate it or freeze it for later use too.

Add the brown sugar to the bowl of juice and whisk until dissolved. Add the ground cloves and whisk again to combine. Set the juice mixture aside.

Heat the Ham: Place the lid on the crock pot and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours. A 7-10 lb. ham in the crock pot takes about 4 hours. A bone-In ham will take 5-6 hours to fully heat up. If you have a smaller, 2-4 lb. ham, aim for around 2 hours of cooking time. Serve &amp; enjoy!

Prep: Follow the same preparation instructions as for the crockpot, the only difference will be the cooking method and time.

Cook: Place the lid on the Instant Pot and make sure the pressure valve is closed. Select Manual high pressure and use the ham portion sizes below to set the appropriate time.

2-4 lbs. boneless ham slices: 5-8 minutes in 3 qt or 6 qt Instant Pot

5-7 lbs. boneless ham slices: 10-14 minutes in a 6 qt or 8 qt Instant Pot

Smaller bone-in hams: 14-17 minutes in an 8-qt Instant Pot.

8-10 pound Spiral Cut Ham

Unwrap spiral ham, throwing away the glaze packet included.

Place ham into slow cooker insert, turning so that the lid closes tightly and that the spiral slices are facing upward. You will want to separate the slices so that the liquid and brown sugar can get in the crevices.

Pour Orange Cream Soda over the ham.

Pat the brown sugar all over the surface of the ham in a thick layer.

Heat on low for 4 to 5 hours, basting once or twice with the cooking juices.

You can turn slow cooker to the warm setting to keep ham warm as needed.

Just made this recipe today. I have to say we were very skeptical on it at first. But after eating it was surprisingly good. I will be making this again.
