This easy turkey chili is a weeknight dinner the whole family will love. 

Slow-Cooker Turkey Chili

This is a great recipe: very easy to follow and it turns out delicious! Can't go wrong!
I always put in a little too much liquid, but it's great, anyway! I serve it over pasta or rice.

Delicious! I added corn and jalapeños, and for the last 30 minutes left it uncovered to thicken up :)

We altered the recipe a bit: 
Eliminated the green pepper, but added (1) zucchini, chopped, (1) yellow squash, chopped, and (1) small bag of spinach, chopped. Upped the tomato paste to a small can (6 oz), and upped the chili powder to 2 tbsp. Upped the meat to 2lbs.
Turns out thick and very colorful.

Great tasting recipe! The ratio of spices is spot on, and using only salt/pepper to cook the ground turkey lets those spices shine through the chili! My only changes were using 2 lbs of ground beef and a full 14.5 can of broth (only because I had extra and didn't want to toss either). I'm thinking of adding corn and maybe some diced jalapeños to give it a little kick next time. :)

Loved it. Since I'm the only one who eats ground turkey,  I halved the recipe and put it in a 4 quart Crockpot  I only used black beans which I happened to have on hand and added a spoonful of chipotle adobo sauce, then after 4 hours, turned it off and added 1/2 cup of frozen corn, letting the residual heat warm it through.

Great recipe, my family loves it.  I added a 16 oz. light beer and some seeded Serrano peppers for a little heat turned out great!

Husband and I really enjoyed it!
I used diced tomatoes (instead of chopped) and chili beans (instead of kidney beans).

Easy Crockpot Chili

lbs lean ground beef

onions

garlic (minced)

light beer

tomatoes

oz diced tomatoes

tomato sauce

kidney beans

Combine seasoning mixture with ground beef and mix until well combined.

Brown ground beef, onions and garlic until no pink remains. Drain any fat. Add beer and simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated.

Combine beef mixture and all remaining ingredients in a slow cooker. If desired slightly mash the whole tomatoes. Cook on high for 4 hours or low 7-8 hours.

red bell pepper, (finely chopped)

(~2 stalks) celery, (finely chopped)

(~1 small) yellow onion (finely chopped)

(15 ounces EACH) chili (pinto) beans in medium sauce

(15 ounces) chili (pinto

(28 ounces EACH) petite diced tomatoes, (undrained)

(6 ounces) tomato paste

(32 ounces) ground beef chuck

(16 ounces) Italian sausage

basil

salt (& 3/4 teaspoon pepper)

cayenne pepper

paprika

white sugar

Worcestershire sauce

garlic

sized beef bouillon cubes

sour cream, cheddar cheese

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove on to a paper towel lined plate and dab off the excess grease. Set aside.

Reserve the bacon grease in the skillet.&nbsp;Remove the stem and seeds from the red pepper. Finely chop. Remove the stem and seeds from the green pepper and finely chop.

Finely chop the celery. Remove the peel of the onion and finely chop. Chop the jalapeno pepper and remove the seeds if desired -- leave them in for extra heat.*

Add the red pepper, green pepper, celery, onion, and jalapeno pepper to the skillet with the reserved bacon grease. Saute the veggies over medium heat until tender. Transfer to the crockpot.

Add in the three cans of chili beans (undrained and do not rinse), petite diced tomatoes, and tomato paste to the crockpot.

In the same skillet used to cook the bacon and veggies, cook the ground beef chuck and Italian sausage until no longer pink over medium high heat. Drain off all the fat and add into the slow cooker.

Add all the seasonings to the crockpot. Crumble up the bacon (or chop) into very small pieces and stir that in the crockpot. OR reserve the bacon in the fridge and add at the end. Stir everything together.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Taste and adjust seasonings (salt, pepper, chili powder, etc.) Enjoy with fresh cilantro, sour cream and cheddar cheese.

Pour tomato sauce over the top and stir to combine.

Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

2 pounds ground beef or turkey
(2) 14 oz. cans of diced or crushed tomatoes
(1) 14 oz can of tomato sauce
4 tablespoons chili seasoning (you can make your own -recipe to come- or use a half of a packet)
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 onion chopped (can be frozen)
2 cans kidney beans (you can use yours from the freezer -if you use beans from the freezer, you will need to add salt (canned beans have a ton of salt))
shredded cheese or sour cream to serve

Crock pot chili Instructions
First, you need to brown your beef or turkey. Since I brown mine before I freeze it I just tossed it in the crockpot frozen.

Toss everything on top in the crockpot (except for the cheese and sour cream)

Cook on low  in the slow cooker for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

Serve with cheese, sour cream, and even more chopped onions if you would like. I also Serve with cornbread. Yum!

How to make Crock Pot Chili-super easy recipe

This Crockpot Chili is simple to prepare and will make everyone happy at dinner time.

red kidney beans (rinsed and drained)

Rotel Tomatoes

cayenne powder

panko breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)

Cook the beef in a large skillet on high heat until crumbled and browned.

Drain most of the fat off, cook the onion in the pan until slightly browned and translucent.

Add to the slow cooker with the rest of the ingredients.

Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours.  

SLOW COOKER

Brown the beef on saute function, then drain most of fat off.  Add onion and continue to saute until translucent and fragrant.

Add remaining ingredients PLUS 1 CUP OF WATER OR STOCK.  Stir, then cover and set to &#039;sealing&#039;.

Cook on manual (high pressure) for 30 minutes, then natural pressure release 15 minutes.

This hearty crockpot chili is my mom's recipe and it tastes so comforting. Made with ground beef, andouille sausage, cocoa powder, and the perfect blend of spices, it's incredibly flavorful but so easy to make! It's bound to be your new go-to chili recipe.

Mom's Crockpot Chili Recipe

yellow onion, diced

red bell pepper, diced

10 ounces can diced tomatoes with green chiles

chili beans

kidney beans, drained

oz spicy andouille sausage, chopped into bite-sized pieces

brown sugar

cocoa powder

tbsp cumin

tbsp smoked paprika

kosher salt*

Cornbread (regular or gluten free mix)

Sour cream

Cheddar cheese (regular

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil along with the ground beef, onion, red pepper, and garlic. Cook until the meat is browned and the vegetables are tender.

Transfer to a 6 or 7 quart crockpot (do not drain) and add in the rest of the chili ingredients (including the other 2 tablespoons of olive oil).

Close the lid but do not clamp it shut. Cook on low heat for 6 hours or high heat for 4 hours. 

Serve warm with your favorite mix-ins (I love it with cornbread) and enjoy! PS &#8211; it tastes even better the next day.
