These homemade air fryer biscuits are so quick and easy to make and they come out perfect every single time! Wonderfully fluffy, these traditional biscuits are a great make ahead side.

Homemade Air Fryer Biscuits

Self-rising flour (plus ¼ cup for flouring the board and biscuit cutter)

unsalted butter

Tbsp shortening

buttermilk

Tbsp unsalted butter (melted for topping)

Add flour, cut butter, and cut shortening and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix in butter and shortening. The flour mixture should still have chunks of butter and shortening that are the size of small peas.

Make a space in the middle of the bowl and pour in the buttermilk. Use a wooden spoon and mix the flour and buttermilk until it is combined and is a soft and sticky dough.

Flour a clean countertop (about 2 Tbsp of flour), marble slab, or large cutting board and pour the dough onto it. Flour your hands and gently knead the dough one or two times until it’s smooth. Pat the dough out into a square that’s about ¾ of an inch thick.

Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter, flour it, and cut out biscuits. You should get about 8 biscuits.

Optional step: Place your biscuits in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to ensure they stay cold.

Place biscuits on an air fryer parchment sheet liners (or a piece of parchment paper cut to fit your air fryer) about 1 inch apart. Place in air fryer basket and air fry on 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 9 - 10 minutes and golden on top. Brush with melted butter and serve.

Easy whole wheat biscuits made with 100% whole grain flour. These fluffy buttermilk biscuits can be made in less than 30 minutes, making them the perfect side for breakfast, soups, and main courses. 

Easy Whole Wheat Biscuits

(240 g) whole wheat pastry flour

aluminum-free baking powder

baking soda

salt

(2 oz) very cold unsalted butter

(236 mL) cold buttermilk

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) with a rack in the center position. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the pastry flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the cold butter and toss in the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or a fork, cut the butter into the flour mixture until the butter is pea sized. Place the bowl in the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.

Remove the flour mixture from the freezer. Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the buttermilk. Using a wooden spoon, stir the buttermilk into the flour mixture until just absorbed. The dough will seem slightly wet.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured countertop. Knead the dough 4 to 5 times until it comes together, dusting the dough lightly with flour as necessary to prevent it from sticking to the countertop.

Pat the dough gently with your hands into a disc that is roughly 1-inch thick. Fold the dough over itself 2 to 3 times, this will help create layers. Dip a 2½-inch-diameter biscuit cutter in flour and cut out the biscuits. Do not twist the biscuit cutter as you cut the dough, this will prevent the scones from rising evenly. Transfer the biscuits to the sheet pan, setting them apart. Gently press and knead any remaining biscuit dough (avoid overworking) and repeat to make roughly 10 biscuits total.

Place the biscuits in the oven and immediately increase the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C). Bake until lightly golden, about 9 to 11 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack. Biscuits are best served hot out of the oven, sliced, and with a little bit of salted butter.

Biscuit Recipe

Preheat the oven to 425F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Toss in the cubed butter to coat with flour. Using a pastry blender or by rubbing the butter pieces between your fingers, work the butter into the flour until the butter pieces range in size from peas to almonds.

Using a silicone spatula, fold the milk into the flour mixture until most of the flour is moistened but the dough is still crumbly. (Don’t over mix it. It will come together in the next step.) Turn out onto a well-floured surface.

With floured hands, pat the dough to a 1-inch thick rectangle. Fold the dough in half. (A bench scraper or large spatula can be helpful here!) Cut the dough in half crosswise and stack the two halves on top of each other. Pat the dough into a rectangle again. Repeat folding, cutting, stacking, and patting 3 more times.

Roll the finished dough to about ¾ to 1-inch thickness and cut into biscuits using a 2½ to 3-inch round floured cookie cutter. Place on prepared baking sheet. For best results, freeze the biscuits for 20 minutes.

Bake for 20 minutes or until the tops and bottoms are golden brown. Immediately brush with melted butter, if desired. Enjoy hot or cool completely on a wire rack. While biscuits are best fresh from the oven, you can store them at room temp for up to 3 days.

These no milk biscuits are deliciously flaky, tender, and incredibly easy to make. They're perfect for breakfast or brunch but also make a fantastic side dish for dinner. And the best part is, you only need 5 ingredients and less than 30 minutes to make enough biscuits to feed the whole family!

Easy Biscuit Recipe | No Milk Needed

All-Purpose Flour

Baking Powder

Vegetable Oil

Sift all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl.

Add the vegetable oil and water and mix everything with a rubber spatula. Once it separates from the bowl and a dough forms, transfer it to a floured working surface.

Roll the dough until it's a little over ½ inch thick.

Cut out about 7 biscuits using a round 2-3 inch cutter.

Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for around 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

If air frying, preheat your air fryer to 385°F (195°C). Line air fryer basket with parchment paper and lay biscuits in a single layer. Cook for 12 minutes, flipping biscuits halfway through. 

Once they're done, let them cool and serve with your favorite toppings.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking sheet or two (depending on how large your baking sheets are) by lining them with parchment paper. Set aside.

In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well with a fork or a whisk.

In a liquid measuring cup, measure the cream and add the eggs. Whisk together using a fork and set aside.

The next few steps should be done quickly, as you&#039;re working with cold butter and you want the butter to be as cold as possible when it hits the heat of the oven. This will result in a flaky scone, rather than a heavy and dense one.

Cut up your butter, right from the fridge, into little pieces and dump it into the flour mixture.  Using your hands (wash them well first and remove any rings), pick up handfuls of the butter and flour mixture, rubbing the pieces of butter and the flour between the heels of your hands to create &quot;sheets&quot; of butter. You should act quickly here, and don&#039;t allow the pieces of butter to sit in your hands for any length of time as the heat from your hands will cause it to soften. The goal is to create paper-thin pieces of butter, small and large throughout the mixture. Once there are no thick chunks of butter remaining, only thin sheets, remove your hands from the mixture. Hands equal heat, so handle the mixture as little as possible.

Pour in the wet ingredients and mix roughly with a fork. Do not over mix, or the result will be heavy and dense.

Once the wet ingredients have been incorporated but there are still several streaks of flour, turn the dough out onto a clean and floured counter surface. Press the dough down into the counter and then fold one half over the other half like you are folding a piece of paper. Press down again and make another fold. Repeat this 2 or 3 more times, gathering any outlying dough bits and flour into your folds. Don&#039;t knead the dough like you would if you were making bread, and don&#039;t stir or mix the dough like you would if you were making muffins. Scones are technically a pastry, so the goal is flaky layers that are created by the thin sheets of butter and all the folding.

Once your dough is formed after folding several times, shape it into a rectangle about 1 3/4 to 2 inches thick (approximately). Again, be careful not to handle the dough too much, so a few little cracks here and there are fine.

Cut out circles of dough using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a class or jar. Arrange the circles of dough on the parchment-lined baking sheet and brush the tops with the egg wash (whisk together the egg and water).

You&#039;ll need to re-shape the leftover dough to form another rectangle - do this carefully and gently, without adding much extra flour if possible. The less you handle the dough, the more tender and flaky the scones will be. Cut out the remainder of the scones until you have about 10-12 in total.

Bake for about 15-18 minutes just until barely golden brown and the surface of the scones lose their shine. Let them cool for 3-5 minutes on the baking sheet. Transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Preheat the oven to 375°F &amp; Lightly butter a 13x9 baking dish

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the butter and heat until the butter is melted

Once melted, add in your chopped onion and cook until translucent (about 8 minutes). Add in the fresh garlic and cook for 1 additional minute.

Sprinkle in flour and whisk together until lightly browned ( roughly about 1 minute).

Slowly pour in the chicken broth and milk, whisking constantly, until no flour lumps remain.

Add the broccoli, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Bring the mixture to a simmer, and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 12-15 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender.

While the broccoli is cooking, open up your can of biscuits

After the broccoli is tender, add the chicken and shredded cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted.

Remove from heat and transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.

Take out 6 biscuits from the can and dd them to the top of the casserole.

Bake for 15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.

While the casserole is baking, make the garlic butter that is going to top your biscuits. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, salt, garlic, and parsley.

once you take the casserole out of your oven, brush the tops of the biscuits with the garlic butter.
