Preheat the oven to 150ºF. Line a rimmed 12½ by 17¼-inch (half- sheetpan with a silicone baking mat.

In a blender or food processor, blend the mango until smooth. Transfer the mango to a bowl and set it aside. Add the raspberries and sugar to the blender and blend until smooth. (It is important to blend the raspberries with the sugar, as the sugar helps liquefy the berries.)

Place dollops of the mango and raspberry purées on the prepared pan. With a small offset spatula, spread the purées evenly over the pan—try to spread them as evenly as possible, not too thin and not too thick, and try not to spread them to the very edges, so you’ll have room to grab the fruit leather and peel it off the mat when it’s cool.

Bake for 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours, rotating the baking sheet every hour. The leather is done when it is still tacky but not too sticky or wet. Let the leather cool.

Remove it from the mat and place it on top of a sheet of wax paper. Cut the leather and wax paper into strips with scissors and roll them up paper-side out, then store them in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Blend: Blend fruit in food processor or blender until smooth. Mix in sweetener and lemon juice.

Spread: Pour into a pan lined with plastic wrap or parchment paper then spread out ⅛ to ¼ inch thick.

Dehydrate: Dehydrate in oven at 140 to 170 degrees F (or as low as oven will go) for 4 to 6 hours, or until the middle is not longer tacky.

Cool: Allow to cool, then remove from sheet. With clean scissors, trim off edges then cut into 1 inch wide strips. Wrap with strips of parchment or tissue paper, then use tape or string to seal.

3 Ingredient Homemade Fruit Roll-Ups

Use your favourite cranberry sauce to make this beautiful and tasty cranberry sauce fruit leather. Puree and mix in some applesauce for a smooth fruit roll up that&#39;s not too tart. For added sweetness add 1-2 tablespoons honey as desired. The recipe can easily be reduced or doubled depending on how much sauce you have.

Combine cranberry sauce and applesauce in deep bowl and puree using an immersion blender or use a blender or food processor. Puree until smooth.

Add honey, if using. Taste test and add more honey if desired.

Spread onto lined dehydrator tray about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick. Line tray with paraflexx sheet or parchment, not wax paper.

Place in dehydrator and dry at 135°F (57°C) for 8-10 hours.

Press leather with flat fingers, if there’s an indentation or any dark, wet spots, it’s not ready. If it comes off easily, it is done.  Watch how to tell if Fruit Leather is Dry on YouTube.

Let cool completely then roll and cut into strips. Store in sealed container for up to 1 month or in the freezer for longer.

Makes 3-4 cups puree, enough for two 8x6 inch sheets of leather or 16 rolls.

For oven dehydrating, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Turn to 170° F (70°C). Dry for 6-8 hours. (see post for more details)

Store for a few days in layers of parchment paper in airtight container.

Fruit leather is an amazing snack that combines a delicious fruity taste with a texture that is to die for! Simple and SOO good, it will for sure be something that your family will go crazy for!

Homemade Fruit Leather

Preheat the oven to 150° or the lowest your oven will go, making sure it’s below 200°. Line your baking sheet with a silpat and set aside.

In the blender add the strawberries, lemon juice and sugar. Blend until you have a smooth puree. Pour the puree onto the baking sheet and smooth using a knife or an offset spatula. Tapping the pan on the counter a few times can help get it nice and even.

Bake for 6-8 hours, or until the leather is no longer tacky. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before using a pizza cutter to cut into strips for fruit roll ups or into rectangles for pieces of fruit leather. If you would like to roll it, cut a strip of parchment paper to roll up with it so it does not stick to itself.

Watermelon Fruit Roll-Ups Are Pure Magic

Make this berry-flavoured fruit leather to eat as a snack or for baking. Here we use berries and apple, but plums, pear, pineapple and mango work well too

Tip the strawberries and apple into a saucepan. Put the pan over a low heat, you don’t need to add any water. If you've used frozen fruit, juice will run out as they thaw. Heat gently, keeping an eye on the pan until the strawberries start to break down, you can put a lid on the pan if you like, this keeps the steam in and helps the fruit break down. Cook until the strawberries have softened and given up their juice and the apple is soft.

Take the pan off the heat. Purée the contents with a stick blender or in a food processor. Squeeze the purée through a sieve into a clean pan, pushing as much pulp through as possible.

Put the pan back on a low heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the purée thickens enough to leave a clear patch on the base of the pan when you pull a spoon through it. The more moisture you drive off now, the shorter your drying time will be.

Heat the oven to as low as it will go. Pour the purée onto a lined baking sheet (we use a reusable silicone tray liner) and spread it out to a thin layer, the purée should be thick enough to look opaque.

Put the tray in the oven and dry until the surface is no longer tacky when you touch it, but the leather is still flexible – don’t overcook it or it will turn brittle. This will take several hours depending on the oven temperature. If it is very hot and sunny you can air-dry the leather, or use a dehydrator.

Leave the leather to cool to warm and then peel it carefully off the tray. Trim off the raggedy edges. Roll the leather up, then cut the roll into sections, using scissors is easiest. Each of these will unroll to make a strip. Keep the strips individually wrapped and airtight. The offcuts can be chopped up and used in baking, or snacked on.

Mixed Berry Homemade Fruit Leather

Preheat oven to 170 degrees F. Line a jelly roll pan (a baking sheet with sides) with parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet.

Blend ingredients together until smooth. If desired, strain to remove seeds.

Pour the mixture into the pan and use an offset spatula to create a thin, even layer.

Bake for three hours (rotate pan half-way) or until the fruit leather is no longer sticky.

Slice into desired size pieces. I used my kitchen cutting shears.

Wrap in parchment or wax paper and store in an airtight container.

Fruit Leather Recipe

Puree washed and hulled strawberries in a blender and measure out six cups of puree.

Prepare calcium water according to package instructions, add four teaspoons of calcium water to the berry puree and mix well.

Transfer the fruit mixture to a heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Meanwhile, with a clean blender, add 2 cups of white grape juice concentrate and turn on low speed. 

Slowly add the powdered pectin and mix well for about two minutes.

Prepare dehydrator trays to have at the ready. These next steps move quickly!

Once the berry puree has been brought to a simmer, keep the heat on, add grape juice concentrate mixture, and stir for a full minute.

Remove from heat and ladle mixture onto the dehydrator trays.

Carefully place trays in the dehydrator.

Dehydrate on low (110-115 degrees) for about 14 hours. Depending on the thickness, this will vary. Keep in mind that the texture of dehydrated foods change after they have cooled, so when checking your fruit leather for doneness, always let the leather cool completely first. 

Cut cooled fruit leather into strips (or cute shapes using a cookie cutter), and roll up using parchment paper. 

Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

This SECRET INGREDIENT changed Everything (Fruit Leather Your Kids Will LOVE)

Banana leather is an easy to make snack that&#x27;s made even better with the addition of Nutella! This fruit leather is a chewy on-the-go version of banana and Nutella that you will want to take everywhere!  If you don&#x27;t have a dehydrator, you can even make it in the oven.

Banana Fruit Leather with Nutella

Blend bananas and Nutella in a food processor until completely smooth.

Spread mixture about 1/4 inch thick onto parchment paper on dehydrator trays. If using an oven, place the parchment paper on a cookie sheet.

Dehydrate at 125 F and check on it periodically starting at 4 hours. If using an oven, bake at the lowest temperature possible (mine is 170 F) and check on it periodically starting at 3 hours. The fruit leather is done when it is no longer sticky to the touch.

Cut into strips and roll, cut into shapes, or eat the whole sheet at once!

Banana Leather with Nutella

In this recipe, I&#039;ll show you how to make delicious strawberry and pineapple fruit roll-ups using either frozen or fresh fruits. One of the unique features of this recipe is that we&#039;ll thicken the puree in a frying pan, which helps to evaporate excess moisture and shorten the baking time in half, making the process more energy-efficient and eco-friendly.

Fruit Roll Ups (Homemade strawberry &amp; pineapple fruit leather)

strawberries ((I used frozen strawberries. You can also use fresh ones.))

Thaw the frozen fruits (strawberries, pineapples, mangoes, raspberries ...) in the refrigerator overnight or until they&#39;re completely soft. Skip this thawing step if you are going to use fresh fruits.

Puree the fruits in a blender until smooth. Optionally, add 1 tbsp of lemon juice for every pound of fruits.

Transfer the puree to a nonstick frying pan, add sugar, and set it over medium-high heat. Stir continuously with a spatula for approximately 20 minutes or until the puree thickens and reaches a texture similar to applesauce. (*See Note1 &amp; 2)

Remove the frying pan from the heat. Let cool for 10 to 20 minutes (it will be easier to spread onto the baking sheet if we let it cool for a bit.) Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 170°F (75°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

Transfer the thickened fruit puree onto the parchment-lined baking sheet, spreading it out evenly to create a thin layer (about ⅛ inch thick).

Bake at 170°F for 4 hours, or until the puree has dried and is no longer sticky to the touch. You can bake multiple sheets at the same time.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the fruit leather to cool to room temperature. Peel the fruit leather off from the parchment paper/silicone mat, optionally cut it into strips, and roll the fruit strips up.

A delicious dehydrated fruit leather that reminds you of a fruit roll-up!

Blueberry Fruit Leather

Preheat the oven to 175F and line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat. Parchment paper can also work, but it must lie completely flat on your baking sheet.

Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and combine until smooth.

Pour onto the baking sheet, and using a flat spatula, spread out into a rectangle shape. Ensure the edges are thicker than the center, as they will dry quicker.

Place in the oven for 2 1/2 hours. Check, and spin the baking sheet. Bake for an additional 2 hours before checking again. The time will vary depending on the water content of the fruit. The fruit leather is ready when it effortlessly lifts off of the silicone sheet or parchment paper. If it is dry around the edges you can rehydrate with a wet cloth.

Store rolled in wax paper or parchment as desired.

Enjoy the blackberry harvest longer with this easy to make homemade fruit leather.

Blackberry Fruit Leather

fresh blackberries (or about 3 cups of frozen blackberries, thawed)

applesauce (applesauce makes the leather more flexible and adds sweetness)

Prepare the Blackberries: If using fresh blackberries, rinse them under cold water and remove any stems. Fully thaw and drain frozen blackberries. For firm berries, place in a small stockpot and smash with a potato masher. Cook gently until soft.

Make the Puree: For seedless blackberry fruit leather, strain the mashed berries through a fine mesh strainer or food strainer to remove the seeds. This step is optional but recommended for a smoother texture. Alternatively, blend the blackberries in a blender or food processor.

Sweeten the Puree: Add the applesauce to the blackberry puree in the blender or food processor. Add the honey (or maple syrup) if desired. Blend briefly to combine. Taste the puree and adjust the sweetness if necessary. Add lemon juice if desired.

Drying Using a Dehydrator: Pour the puree onto the dehydrator trays lined with fruit leather sheets or parchment paper. Spread the puree evenly to about 1/8 inch thick. Even thickness helps with even drying.

Set the dehydrator to 135°F (57°C) and let it run for about 6-8 hours. Your blackberry fruit leather is done when it’s no longer sticky and peels away easily from the tray.

Drying using an Oven: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Pour and spread the puree evenly on the prepared baking sheet to the same thickness as mentioned above.

Set the oven to its lowest temperature, usually around 140°F to 150°F (60°C to 65°C). Place the baking sheet in the oven and leave the door slightly ajar to allow moisture to escape. Drying can take anywhere from 4-8 hours. Check regularly and rotate the sheet if needed to ensure even drying.

Once the fruit leather is completely dried and no longer sticky, let it cool to room temperature. Peel the leather off the parchment paper or baking mat. Cut it into strips or squares using kitchen scissors or a knife. Store in an airtight container. Should last around a month or more at room temperature. Refrigerate or freeze for long term storage, especially in warm and humid climates.

How to make homemade blackberry fruit leather in a dehydrator.

Making Blackberry Fruit Leather

Use your dehydrator to transform excess backyard fruit into jammy-sweet portable snacks with no unidentifiable ingredients. This is a preserving project that yields top notch results. It starts in summer, when the berries and summer fruits are heavy on the vines and branches and you’re too busy to do anything with them. Fill your dehydrator to make the best use of your time.

Best Fruit Leather Recipe with 20 Tips for Success

For a full dehydrator load (9 square trays):

Supplies:

· Dehydrator, I use a 9-tray Excalibur

· Roll of unbleached parchment

· Pencil

· Scissors

· Blender, does not need

· Rubber spatula

· Offset spatula (the kind used for cake decorating)

· Roll of masking tape

· Jars with lids for storage (if you’re repurposing, make sure it has no odor)

1.  Make paper backing for your fruit leather sheets. Lay a dehydrator screen on parchment paper, trace around it with a pencil, and cut out as many sheets as needed. Great job for kids. Lay the parchment squares on each tray of your dehydrator with the screens in place.

2.  Wash and puree ripe, flavorful fruit (or use frozen fruit that has been thawed) singly or in combination.  It is not necessary to peel most fruits. Leave that peel on for its valuable fiber, or peel just a portion of the fruit.

3.  Taste the puree.  Remember that as the fruit dries, flavor will concentrate. 

·      If it tastes bland, add a little lemon juice or ascorbic acid (vitamin C crystals) to perk up the flavor

·      If it is too tart add a banana or applesauce, or a touch of honey or maple syrup to sweeten

·      If the puree is too thin add applesauce, banana, or 1/2 tsp instant pectin per 2 cups puree

4.  Measure and pour 2 cups of puree onto the prepared tray in a squarish shape.  Using an offset spatula spread the puree evenly about ¼ inch thick, slightly thicker at the edges and thinner in the middle for more even drying. 

5.  Dry at 135° F (57 °C) until dry and leathery with no moist patches, anywhere from 8-12 hours for a full dehydrator load.  Leather should be tacky (but not gummy) and pliable; not crisp or hard.  For even drying, rotate trays when they are half done, turning them front to back.

6.  Using a clean pair of scissors, cut each sheet of fruit leather (with its parchment backing) into 4 servings: Roll each piece into a cigar shape and secure with a piece of masking tape wrapped around its middle. Ends of tape must overlap slightly in order to stick. 

7.  Store fruit leather in clean jars in a cool dark cupboard at room temperature. Storing your fruit leather in glass will prolong its shelf life to a year. It will still taste fresh in a year, whereas storing it in plastic bags or containers causes fruit leather to lose flavor and quality much more quickly, about 3 months.

I have got to try the pumpkin puree fruit leather! I've made fruit leather, many years ago, but the ingredients to these various fruits is just wonderful! All the steps Michele included in the video are perfect. She really motivates me to make stuff because she makes it all look so simple &amp; fun to make.

I'm delighted to have found this website (via youtube). So much covered- so practical- I don't need to buy extra fruit leather trays!! I'd like further info on fruit with seeds, please. Things like raspberries and passionfruit- can you make leather with the seeds still whole? Another question- if you dehydrate fruit, or make the fruit leather and store it in a fridge- what kind of shelf life does it have once you remove it from the fridge? And- can stevia be used as a sweetener? I love the suggestion of combining in cocoa- thanks for all your tips and hints and ideas!!

Best Fruit Leather Method with 20 Tips for Success

This strawberry banana fruit roll ups recipe takes only about 5 minutes of work! Wait a few hours, you&#39;ll have tasty homemade fruit roll-ups!

Strawberry Banana Fruit Leather

Large Bananas (peeled and chopped)

lb Fresh Strawberries,

Tbsp Honey

Lemon

Salt

Measure all ingredients into a food processor or blender, blend until smooth.

Divide mixture between three silicone dehydrator trays.  Use an offset spatula to spread the mixture to an even thickness on each tray.

Dehydrate at 135 F for 6 hours.

At 6 hours, check your fruit leather.  It should pull up from the silicone relatively easily, and be soft without being sticky.If it’s not dried yet, put it back in the food dehydrator until it is.

Allow to cool to room temperature.  Use a pizza wheel or sharp knife to cut the strawberry banana fruit leather into strips, then store in an airtight container.We like to stick each one to a square of parchment and roll them up.

One our our favourite homemade fruit leathers to date - hope you love it as much as we do!

This Caramel Apple Fruit Leather recipe is a little more work than some fruit leathers, but is worth the effort. Fruit-Roll Ups, but better!
