This easy recipe for <strong>Spiked Hot Apple Cider</strong> is perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas! Made with cinnamon sticks, star anise, clove, allspice, fresh oranges and a spiced rum to warm you right up!

Hot Spiked Mulled Apple Cider

apple juice or apple cider

orange,

cinnamon

star anise

whole cloves

allspice

1″ ginger root, sliced

spiced rum (I used Captain Morgan)

To a large 10 qt dutch oven, add apple juice, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, star anise, whole cloves, whole allspice and ginger root. (If you have a spice ball, add clove and allspice to that. It&#8217;s easier cleanup after wards.

Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce to simmer for 2-3 hours.

An Old-Fashioned Whiskey Cocktail is a simple mixture of whiskey, sugar, bitters and a citrus peel. It is a sublimely simple and delicious preparation for a wide range of spirits besides just whiskey—rum, tequila, brandy—and a fine apple brandy is no exception. Showcasing the earthy flavor of fermented apples with just a bit of sugar and bitters is a perfect preparation to enjoy classic holiday flavors in a new way.

Apple Brandy Old-Fashioned Recipe

oz simple syrup OR 1 sugar cube

Angostura bitters

oz apple brandy (such as Clear Creek)

lemon twist

If using sugar, place the sugar cube in the bottom of the glass and add the 2 dashes of bitters. Muddle well to blend the sugar and bitters, then add a few drops of water and stir to dissolve the sugar.

If using simple syrup, add the syrup and bitters to the glass.

Place a large chunk of ice into the glass filled with sugar and bitters and add the apple brandy. Stir well to incorporate the sugar and brandy.

Twist the lemon peel over the top, drop it into the glass and serve.

 I freeze them and use them as ice cubes. festive look, but no need to eat them or water down cocktail with ice. 
 kids : I keep sparkling juice but use ginger ale in place of champagne. (ginger adds great holiday flavoring ) 
 Serving EVERYONE :I make one decorative bowl of Christmas mixture with ladle. Champagne and ginger ale next to it. Pour either fizzy,top with ladle of Christmas mixture. You decide how much alcohol suits you each time and how much soda kids get (Also keeps champagne/ginger from going flat quickly) I also keep whiskey and chambord next too bowl (for those who need a swift kick )

This Cranberry Pomegranate Cocktail is the holiday cocktail of your dreams. Made with cranberry simple syrup and pomegranate juice, it's perfectly sweet and festive. It's also delicious as a virgin cocktail.

Cranberry Pomegranate Sparkler

fresh cranberries, (plus more for garnish)

pomegranate juice

lemon juice

Soda water

Pomegranate arils, (for garnish (optional))

Put cranberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.

Once boiling, lower heat to medium low and let cook for another 10 minutes, until berries start bursting.

Strain the juice into a heat-proof bowl, leaving the solids behind, and place bowl in fridge to cool.

In a glass filled with ice, pour half the vodka, half the pomegranate juice, and half the lemon juice. Repeat with second glass. Pour 1 1/2 oz. cranberry simple syrup in each glass and top glasses off with soda water.

Garnish with cranberries and pomegranate arils, if desired

Homemade Aged Boozy Eggnog

Meyer’s Dark Rum

Bourbon (I prefer Bulleit)

Pure Vanilla Extract

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Kosher Salt

Combine the egg yolks and sugar in a large container. Whisk until completely blended and creamy.

Add the remaining ingredients and stir until well combined.

Transfer to a one-gallon glass jar with a lid. Make sure and seal well. Store in the refrigerator for at least 3 weeks and up to 1 year.

When ready to serve, top with homemade whipped cream (see notes below) and freshly grated nutmeg.

This definitely could be dangerous!! I can't believe it can sit up to 3 years. Amazing.

When aging should it be periodically stirred/shaken/mixed, left relatively undisturbed, or does it matter?

Love this recipe second year making a batch. Now I doubled everything but the alcohol As the ppl who’d be drinking it this year w me said it was a little strong for them. which I’m sure it will still taste good what I’m curious is would that be enough alcohol to keep a sealed bottle for a year still or if I want to try a full year of aging should I make a small batch w the full alcohol and set it aside from the rest. (2-4 tablespoons) spiced cranberry syrup

1. To make the cranberry syrup. In a pot, bring 1/2 cup water, the honey, cranberries, ginger, and cardamom to a boil over high heat. Boil 5 minutes or until the cranberries begin to burst, then remove from the heat. Stir in the thyme. Let cool. Remove the ginger, cardamom, and thyme. I prefer to leave the cranberries in, but you can strain those out if desired. 3. Fill a cocktail glass with ice.2. Combine the vodka, lime juice, pomegranate juice, and cranberry syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until combined, about 1 minute. Strain into your prepared glass. Top with ginger beer. Enjoy!

Our gingerbread martini is a festive drink made with a ginger flavored simple syrup. Treat yourself or your guests to this special holiday cocktail!

Gingerbread Martini Recipe

Kahlua (coffee liqueur)

vanilla vodka

gingerbread syrup (or to taste)

In a small saucepan, combine the water, brown sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and allspice. Cook over low heat until the sugar is dissolved and the ingredients are combined. Remove from heat.

Gingerbread Syrup

(Optional) Dip the rim of a martini glass into a small amount of the gingerbread syrup. Then immediately dip it into either decorating sugar or crushed cookies. Place the glass in the refrigerator to chill while you make the drink.

Place a handful of ice in a drink shaker. Add the Kahlua, Irish cream liqueur, vanilla vodka, and gingerbread syrup. Shake gently. Pour into a chilled martini glass, and serve.
