Spicy Mushroom Rice Recipe

butter

shallot, sliced

jalapeno, diced

marsala wine

soy sauce

salt

1/4teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Start by melting the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add in the sliced mushrooms and let brown, stirring, for 10 minutes.

Next add the shallot, jalapeño, salt and pepper and let cook for another minute or two.

Deglaze the skillet with the marsala wine and let reduce for 2 minutes.

Add the soy sauce and stir, then add the cooked rice.

Stir together and then season with more salt and pepper to taste if needed.

Simple and tasted amazing! Decided to cook for the wife for a change and she couldn't stop complimenting me. Thank you! =)

Don't wash mushrooms. They absorb water which makes them harder to brown. Put them in a dish towel or bag and gently shake the dirt off. Great recipe. Looks delicious.

I've mad this recipe a ciuple of times. The first one exactly like the recipe states. The second I added an item to add a slight crunch to give it some more texture. They were both excellant! I just wish I could remember the crunchy ingredient. LOL!

I love this recipe, especially the mushrooms. My husband loves sautéed mushrooms on his steak so this will be my go to recipes from now on. My only criticism would be that I found it to be a little salty, but that’s a very personal preference.  Reheats nicely.

Being from Louisiana, this is basically rice with soy sauce. Not impChelebaileyley1ileyressed.  Without the seasoning I added, it has to bland. But hey, to each her own....we like food with kick. This ain't it.

I stumbled on this recipe looking for a side dish.  I followed the recipe  but used chicken broth as I didn’t have marsala wine.  It was sooooo very good!   It tasted phenomenal the next day.
I just recently  made it again and added bacon and let me tell you, the flavors of everything just popped.  
This is the most simplest side dish recipe I’ve made that can be tweaked but tastes wonderful any which way you add to it.
I always double it!

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray or butter a 9x13 baking dish and set aside.

To a large mixing bowl, add the sweet potatoes, sugar, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Using a potato masher or large fork, mash the potatoes together with the other ingredients. Once the potatoes are mashed, add the buttermilk and use a wire whisk to mix all of the ingredients until well combined.

Transfer the sweet potato mixture to your prepared baking dish and set it aside while you make the streusel topping.

In a medium mixing bowl, add the brown sugar, melted butter, flour, chopped walnuts, salt, and ground cinnamon. Using a fork, mix the ingredients together until all of the flour is moistened and a crumbly texture is formed.

Spoon the streusel topping over top of the sweet potato mixture and spread out into an even layer. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until the casserole is golden and bubbly. Allow the casserole to cool for about 10 minutes then serve warm.

Gluten-Free Corn Casserole is one of my family&#039;s favorite holiday recipes. Sweet and savory with a corn bread-like texture, this side dish is one of the best, and super easy to make!

Gluten-Free Corn Casserole (Dairy-Free Option)

(15 oz can) sweet corn, drained

(14.75 oz can) creamed corn

sour cream ((see notes for dairy-free option))

unsalted butter, melted ((see notes for dairy-free option))

gluten-free flour (102 grams)

gluten-free cornmeal (105 grams)

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a round 3 qt ceramic dish or an 11&quot; X 8&quot; ceramic rectangular baking dish.

Open the can of whole kernel corn and carefully drain the water. Add the corn to a large bowl with the rest of the remaining ingredients. Stir everything until well combined.

Pour the mixture into the casserole dish and bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, or until baked through.

Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Serve warm.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

In oven, heat drippings in 9” skillet until sizzling hot.

Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk eggs and milk until incorporated.

In a large bowl, add cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.  Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until blended.

Pour drippings from skillet into cornbread mixture and mix well.  The drippings should sizzle when they hit the batter.  Pour batter into skillet.

Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

How To Cook Skillet Cornbread for Your Thanksgiving Feast

A traditional, authentic Egyptian rice dish, loaded with flavors and rich.

Savory Rice with cream (Egyptian Meammar Rice)

unsalted butter (divided.)

chicken tenders. (Note1.)

Table spoon Mascarpone cheese.

Chicken broth (any type.)

milk.

Start by washing the rice and soak in water for 15 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Meanwhile in a pan over medium heat, melt 1 Tablespoon of butter and brown the chicken tenders, 2-3 minutes each side, season with some salt and pepper, set aside.

Drain the rice, add salt, pepper, sour cream, Mascarpone cheese and the remaining 1 Tablespoon of butter, mixing all very well until all rice is covered well.

In a deep oven dish, authentically a clay one, add about 5 Tablespoons of the rice mixture to cover the bottom and spread evenly.

Add the chicken pieces if using, then cover with the remaining rice, level the surface.

In a pot over medium heat, add the milk along with the broth and bring to a boil, turn off the heat and season with a dash of black pepper.

Add the hot liquids to the rice , place the dish into a bigger oven dish or pan filled halfway with water.

Bake in the oven for almost an hour until the rice is fully cooked and the surface turns golden brown.

Let it cool down and serve.
