In the Instant Pot, add all of these ingredients. Mix well. Place the lid on and set the manual timer for 1 minutes. Allow a natural release (about 30 minutes) and top with your favorite flavors such as salted caramel, peppermint, or chocolate sauce! Enjoy!

Place milk, cocoa powder and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium/medium-low heat, whisking frequently, until warm (but not boiling). Add chocolate chips and whisk constantly until the chocolate chips melt and distribute evenly into the milk. Whisk in vanilla extract, serve immediately. 

Simply drop one into a mug, pour hot milk over the top, and watch the shell melt away for a fun and festive new hot chocolate experience!

Homemade Hot Chocolate Bombs

Melt the chocolate candy melts until smooth in a microwave or double boiler. Add a heaping tablespoon of melted chocolate to each cavity of a round silicone mold, using the back of a spoon to spread it into an even layer.

Freeze the mold for 5-10 minutes to set the chocolate, then carefully remove the chocolate cups from the mold. Repeat if necessary to make twelve chocolate cups in total.

Fill half of them with a single serving of hot chocolate mix, along with any desired add-ins.

Attach the unfilled shells to the filled ones by melting the edge slightly, then placing the shells edge to edge to seal them together. Continue until you have six sealed hot chocolate bombs.

Decorate the bombs if desired, then put them back in the freezer for 5 minutes to set.

Store the finished hot chocolate bombs at cool room temperature.

No such thing as too much chocolate to chocolate lovers. I used skim milk and truvia, and dark chocolate chips and I'll say yes to this. Accidentally left out the vanilla, but it still tastes great.

WAYYYYY too much chocolate. For 2 cups of milk you should use half a cup of chocolate chips max. The cocoa powder isn't really necessary either. I added 2 dashes of cinnamon and 1 dash of chile powder or cayenne pepper. I feel bad about giving this one star but nothing about this recipe offers anything unique or even correct on making hot chocolate.

Whole milk is preferable. 

When you're drinking hot cocoa, you're most likely trying to be festive and cozy, not healthy. Go all out with whole milk. Remember, fat = flavor. If you only have skim or low-fat, don't worry. This recipe will still totally work. 

Watch the milk! 

If you walk away as it's coming to a simmer on the stovetop, it will likely boil over. Trust us, this has happened to us too many times to count. 

Use your favorite kind of chocolate. 

We're partial to semi-sweet (60% cocoa) or bittersweet (70%). But if you like your cocoa a little bit sweeter and creamier, feel free to use milk chocolate. We usually use chocolate chips because they're always in our pantry. But if you want to splurge on a nice bar of chocolate, go for it. It'll be worth it!

whole milk ((700 milliliters))

tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

sugar ((50 grams))

First, roughly chop the chocolate into small pieces or use chocolate chips.

Combine milk, and sugar in a small saucepan and place over medium heat. Whisk together and warm while whisking frequently.

Add the cocoa powder in and whisk together over heat until hot but not boiling.

Add the chopped chocolate and whisk until all the pieces have melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Serve with whipped cream.

My Best Ever Crockpot Hot Chocolate Recipe

Pour all the ingredients into a crockpot and whisk together until well combined.

Cover and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until mixture is hot and chocolate chips are melted. Whisk well before serving. Garnish as desired (which means MARSHMALLOWS of course!)

According to Amanda you can also make it with white chocolate, butterscotch, even mint chocolate chips. The possibilities here are endless! I’m thinking of maybe trying a salted caramel version… yum!

300 ml (10 fl oz/ 1 ¼ cup) whole milk

Heat the milk in a medium saucepan, being careful not to boil it. Add the salt, vanilla and nutmeg, if using, and gently whisk in the chopped chocolate pieces to melt using a hand whisk over a gentle, slow simmer.
