Instant Pot applesauce is such an easy recipe! Made with a variety of tarter and sweeter apples, there's no sugar added to this healthy homemade applesauce - just lemon juice, cinnamon, and kosher salt. This pressure cooker applesauce makes a great snack and excess portions freeze beautifully.

Instant Pot Applesauce

Fuji apples (quartered, peeled, and cored)

Golden Delicious apples, (quartered, peeled, and cored)

apples

water ((6 oz))

lemon juice

cinnamon

kosher salt

Peel apples. Cut each apple into quarters, and then remove the cores.

Place quartered apples in the Instant Pot, then pour in the water. Add lemon juice, cinnamon, and kosher salt and give everything a little stir to combine.

Place the lid on the Instant Pot and make sure the pressure release valve is set to "Sealing". Press the "Manual" button, then using the "+" or "-" buttons, adjust the cook time to 5 minutes.

Let the pressure release naturally (see note above), then switch the pressure release valve to "venting" before opening the lid.

Using an immersion blender, blend the apples until your desired consistency. Alternatively, you can transfer the apples to a blender to blend that way, or even just give it all a stir if you like chunky applesauce. The applesauce will thicken as it cools. Store in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.

Peel and core apples. I use a johhny apple peeler to do all three steps at once (peel, spice and core).

Add water, lemon juice and cinnamon to instant pot and stir to combine. Add apples and toss to mix.

Secure lid and cook on manual (high pressure) for 8 minutes. Do a controlled quick release or allow the pressure to naturally release.

Mash the apple mixture a few times with a potato masher, if desired. (If you like a smoother texture you could pulse it in the blender.)&nbsp;

Transfer contents to a bowl and allow to cool completely. Stir in more cinnamon, if desired, to taste.&nbsp;

Enjoy warm or cold. Store in the fridge for up to 7-10 days.

Pressure Cook Apples: Place cinnamon stick(s), ½ (1g) tsp nutmeg, ¼ cup (60ml) cold water and 3 lbs (1.36kg) quartered apples in Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. With Venting Knob in Venting Position, close the lid, then turn Venting Knob to Sealing Position. Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 5 minutes + Natural Release. Open the lid carefully.

Blend &amp; Season Applesauce: Remove cinnamon stick(s) and blend the applesauce into desired consistency with an immersion blender. Taste the applesauce and add a pinch of salt. Add honey to taste. Serve applesauce &amp; enjoy~
