Instant Pot Short Ribs

(125 milliliters) red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon)

(14-21 grams) brown sugar

(15 milliliters) regular soy sauce

(15 milliliters) fish sauce

Brown Short Ribs in Instant Pot: Heat up Instant Pot using Sauté More. Wait until it says HOT (prevents short ribs from sticking to the pot). Add 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil in Instant Pot. Season one side generously with salt and black pepper. Add in 5 pieces of short ribs, then brown each side for 4 minutes. While one side is browning, season the other side with more salt and black pepper.*Pro Tip: Avoid overcrowding by browning short ribs in batches.

Saute Onion &amp; Garlic: Set aside the browned short ribs. Add in sliced onions, and saute until soften (~ 3 minutes). Add in chopped garlic, and saute until fragrant (~30 seconds).

Saute Veggies &amp; Spices: Add in chopped carrots, celery, a pinch of dried thyme, and 2 bay leaves, then saute for 2 minutes.

Deglaze Instant Pot: Pour ½ cup (125ml) red wine in Instant Pot and deglaze by scrubbing the flavorful brown bits off the bottom of the pot with a wooden spoon. Give it a quick mix. Let the wine simmer for a minute to allow some of the alcohol to evaporate.

Pressure Cook Short Ribs: Add 1 tbsp (15ml) regular soy sauce, 1 tbsp (15ml) fish sauce, 1-1.5 tbsp (14-21g) brown sugar, 2 tbsp (30ml) balsamic vinegar, and ½ cup (125ml) unsalted chicken stock in Instant Pot. Carefully add in browned short ribs + meat juice.If you are making mashed potatoes: Cut 3 - 4 potatoes in half, then place them in a stainless steel bowl. Layer the bowl on top of the short ribs. Then, pressure cook:-With Potatoes: High Pressure 42 minutes + Natural Release 15 minutes-No Potatoes: High Pressure 45 minutes + Natural Release 15 minutes

Optional - Make Mashed Potatoes: Drain &amp; transfer the potatoes to a larger mixing bowl. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher. Mix in 100ml whole milk and 1 – 2 tbsp (14g -28g) unsalted butter. Season to taste with salt &amp; pepper.

Thicken &amp; Seasonings: Carefully set aside the short ribs. Mix 2.5 tbsp (22.5g) cornstarch and 3 tbsp (45ml) cold water together in a small mixing bowl. Bring the sauce to a simmer and add the cornstarch mixture one third at a time to thicken the red wine sauce until desired thickness. Taste and season with more salt, black pepper, and brown sugar if necessary (For reference: we added 3 large pinches of salt).

Serve Short Ribs: Carefully place the short ribs back in the sauce to keep them hot. Serve &amp; be prepared for your guests to beg for more of this deliciously beautiful creation!

Make Kalbi Marinade: Cut 1 (104g) small onion, and 1 (370g) peeled Asian pear into smaller pieces. Process 1 (37g) whole garlic, onion pieces, ½ teaspoon (1g) ginger, and Asian pear pieces in a food processor to a fine paste. Or you can mince these ingredients.In a small mixing bowl, mix ½ cup (125ml) regular soy sauce, 2 tbsp (42g) honey, 1 tsp (2.3g) freshly ground black pepper, 2 tbsp (25g) brown sugar, 2 tbsp (30ml) rice vinegar, 2 tbsp (30ml) sesame oil and the above processed onion paste together.

Marinate Baby Back Ribs: Remove the membrane from baby back ribs (See Video). Place ribs and kalbi marinade in a large Ziploc bag. Partially close the bag and squeeze out the air in the bag. Close Ziploc bag, then marinate ribs in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. *Pro Tip: Optimal marinating time for baby back ribs is 6 – 8 hours.

Pressure Cook Baby Back Ribs: Pour everything in the Ziploc bag into Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. With Venting Knob in Venting Position, close the lid, then turn Venting Knob to Sealing Position. Pressure cook at High Pressure for 16 – 25 minutes + Full Natural Release.*Pro Tip: Adjust the cooking timing according to your preference: 16 minutes (Tender with a bit of chew) to 25 minutes (Fall off the bone). After full natural release, release the remaining pressure by turning Venting Knob to Venting Position. When Floating Valve drops, open the lid carefully. Turn off heat.

Preheat Oven: While the Instant Pot is naturally releasing pressure. Preheat oven to 450°F.

Reduce Kalbi Sauce and Finish in Oven: Reduce sauce over medium heat for roughly 5 minutes (Instant Pot: press &quot;Sauté&quot; button). Taste and season kalbi sauce with more freshly ground black pepper if necessary. Generously brush kalbi sauce on all sides of baby back ribs with a silicone basting brush. Place ribs in the oven for 4 – 8 minutes per side until caramelized.

Serve: Remove Instant Pot Korean Ribs from oven. Garnish with finely sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. You can serve the remaining sauce as a dipping sauce for extra blast of flavors. Enjoy~ :)

Pressure Cooker Korean Ribs

You&#039;ll love these fall of the bones Instant Pot Beef ribs. This easy rib recipe is a life changer!

Instant Pot Beef Ribs

water

apple cider vinegar

Beef ribs (membrane removed)

First, place the stainless steal container into the Instant Pot.

Next, put 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar into the container.

After that, place a trivet or steamer basket into the container.

Next, take your ribs and place them on a flat surface. Sprinkle the top half with my homemade BBQ seasoning. If you don’t have the individual seasonings you can opt for some pre-made BBQ rub.

Now with your fingers or a spoon, rub the seasoning into the ribs.

Place the ribs on the trivet or steamer basket.

Put on the IP lid. Make sure that the vent is set to sealed.

Hit manual high pressure. Change the time to 22 minutes.

Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes and then manually release the rest of the pressure.

If desired, turn your oven to broil. On a cookie sheet please the beef ribs. Top with your favorite BBQ sauce if desired. Broil for 5 minutes.

Pat ribs dry and season with salt.In a small bowl combine ginger, garlic, brown sugar, honey, lime juice, chili paste and soy sauce.With your Instant Pot on sauté mode, heat olive oil

Add shallots and cook just until softened.Arrange ribs standing up around the edge of pot, working in a circle and into a second layar if needed

Cover and seal the pot with the lid, making sure that the vent valve is closed.Using manual mode, cook ribs on high for 30 minutes

Allow pressure to naturally release for 15 minutes, release any extra pressure manually.Remove ribs from the pot and arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.Set Instant Pot to sauté mode and allow sauce to boil until reduced by half, about 8 minutes.Brush ribs generously with the reduced sauce and broil on high until they’re crispy on the outside, about 3-4 minutes

Broil for another 3-4 minutes until all sides are crispy.Serve topped with fresh cilantro and crushed peanuts.

Note : this recipe works for both beef ribs and pork ribs! You’ll just want to take note of the slightly different cooking times

Rinse the ribs and pat them dry. If your ribs still have the thin, shiny membrane on the back, remove it. (This is easy, don’t worry!) Flip the ribs over, meat-side down. Wiggle a dull knife (such as a butter knife) between the membrane and the ribs to loosen it. With a paper towel, grip the membrane and pull it away, then discard.

In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne. Rub it all over the ribs, generously coating all of the sides.

Place the trivet (or rack) in the bottom of a 6-quart or larger Instant Pot. Pour in the water, apple cider vinegar, and liquid smoke. Place the ribs inside the pot, standing them on the trivet on their side and wrapping the rack around the inside of the pot like a circle.

Cover and seal the Instant Pot. For baby back ribs: Cook on high (manual) pressure for 23 minutes (if you are making multiple racks and your ribs are super meaty, increase to 25 minutes). Allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes, then vent to release the remaining pressure. For spare ribs: Cook on high for 35 minutes. Allow the pressure to naturally release completely (about 15 minutes). You will know it is released when the pin drops.

Towards the end of the ribs’ cook time, place a rack in the upper third of your oven and set it to broil. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. Transfer the cooked ribs to the foil, then brush liberally with barbecue sauce. Place under the broiler just until the sauce begins to caramelized, about 2 minutes. Do not walk away to make sure the ribs don’t burn.

Pressure Cook Baby Back Ribs: Place 1 cup (250ml) of cold running water (or apple cider vinegar) and a trivet in Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. Place the baby back ribs on top of the trivet. Close lid, then turn Venting Knob to Sealing position. Pressure cook at High Pressure for 16 – 25 minutes + Full Natural Release*Pro Tip: Adjust the timing according to your preference: 16 minutes (Tender with a bit of chew) to 25 minutes (Fall off the bone). Open the lid carefully.

Preheat Oven: While the baby back ribs is cooking in the pressure cooker, preheat the oven to 450F.

Apply Sauce and Finish in Oven: Brush your favorite BBQ sauce all over the baby back ribs on all sides including the bones. Place the baby back ribs with the baking tray in the oven for 10 – 15 minutes.

Serve: Remove the ribs from the oven and serve!

Instant Pot Ribs - Easy, Foolproof, Tender!

These ultra tender Baby Back Pork Ribs are made in just minutes in the Instant Pot!

Instant Pot Baby Back Pork Ribs

2.5 lb. to 3 lb. rack of baby back pork ribs

tbsp chili powder

parsley

tsp each: salt (pepper, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder)

tsp liquid smoke (optional)

bbq sauce

Remove the lining from the bottom side of the ribs by running a butter knife under the skin and then using a paper towel to grip and remove completely.

Combine the brown sugar, chili powder, parsley, salt, pepper, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper in a small dish and rub all over the ribs.

Place the rack in your pressure cooker and place the ribs inside the pot, standing on their side, wrapping around the inside of the pot. Pour in the water, apple cider and liquid smoke (if using), being careful to not wash off any of the seasonings.

Secure the lid, making sure the vent is closed. Press the Meat button and set to 25 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then quick release the rest of the way.

Carefully remove the ribs from the pressure cooker and set on a foil lined baking sheet. Brush down with your favorite BBQ sauce, and pop under the broiler for 5 minutes, but keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn (some ovens are more hot than others). Enjoy!

Tender fall off the bone baby back ribs are made easy in the Instant Pot! Add your favorite barbecue sauce (or olive oil/salt/pepper) for a finger licking good meal!

baby back ribs (about 1 ½- 2 pounds)

Rinse ribs and pat dry. Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs.

Cut slab into 2-3 pieces (enough so they fit into the Instant Pot) and coat with dry rub massaging it into the meat.

Place trivet (or rack) in the bottom of your Instant Pot. Add broth or water and liquid smoke if using.

Set ribs upright on the trivet (so they are not stacked on top of one another).  Sprinkle with onion and garlic.

Close lid and select manual pressure and set the timer for 23 minutes (25 minutes if they’re extra meaty). Once done, allow the instant pot to natural release for 5 minutes.

Open valve to release remaining pressure.

Brush with barbecue sauce (or olive oil/salt/pepper for dry ribs) and broil or grill until slightly charred.

Instant Pot Mississippi-Style Short Ribs

2.27 kg (about 9 ½ cups) Beef short ribs

Black pepper

(about 168 g) quartered Shallot

(about 200 g) peeled, sliced Carrot

(about 90 g) chopped Celery stalk

½ teaspoon crushed Red pepper flakes

(about 36 g) chopped Garlic clove

(about 2 g) Star anise pod

(about 50 g) Tomato paste

(about 240 g) Dry sherry

(about 24 g) Brown sugar

(about 30 ml) Worcestershire sauce

(about 30 ml) Balsamic vinegar

(about 426 g) Low-sodium beef broth

(about 1.44 kg) mashed, cooked Potato

Simple BBQ Pork Spare Ribs that can be made a head or used now.

Instant Pot BBQ Pork Spare Ribs

Baby Back Ribs (or St. Louis Style Ribs)

Pure Vanilla Extract ((gives a Bourbon flavor))

Apple Juice

Apple Cider Vinegar

Yellow/Brown Onion (rough chopped)

Applewood Smoked Sea Salt

Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Liquid Smoke

Barbecue Sauce

Place onions, vanilla, apple juice, apple cider and liquid smoke into cooking pot.

Salt and pepper the ribs.

Curl the ribs and place into cooking pot.

Lock on lid and close Pressure Valve

Cook on High Pressure for 15 if making baby back ribs or 20 minutes if making St. Louis style ribs.

When beep sounds wait 10 minutes and then release the rest of the pressure.

Place ribs on baking sheet and slather on the barbecue sauce.

Place in a 450 degree oven for about 5 minutes each side. Or place under a broil. Or, finish off on the grill.

Place long legged trivet into pressure cooker and place CrispLid basket on top.

Slather ribs and place into basket. You will need to do this in sections.

Place CrispLid onto cooking pot and set temperature to 450 degrees and time to 10 minutes.

Flip ribs after 5 minutes and cook until the sauce has caramelized and ribs have a nice char.
