Cottage Rolls Recipe

250 g low-fat cottage cheese

eggs

pecans

soy sauce

carrot grated

breadcrumbs

quick oats

puff pastry

tbs milk

tbs sesame seeds optional

The Chiko roll is iconically Australian and the ingredients are really a mystery to everybody. Here we have tried to capture the flavour so you can have them at home.

Homemade Chiko Roll Recipe

tsp butter

green cabbage (finely shredded)

celery (finely sliced)

carrot (coarsely grated)

onion (finely sliced)

200 g cooked lamb (finely diced)

chicken stock cube

tbs plain flour

spring roll wrappers

egg (lightly beaten)

vegetable oil (for frying)

Chicken Scrolls

500 g chicken mince

garlic

g cheese

g spinach

corn cob kernels

egg beaten

carrot cooked

Step 1

Combine mince, onions, parsley and garlic. Mix well.

Step 2

Place pastry onto baking paper and lightly brush one edge of pastry with water, overlap with second sheet and press gently.

Step 3

Spread chicken mixture over pastry leaving a border on top of short edge of 5 cm.

Step 4

Add layer of cheese over chicken, then spinach carrot and corn.

Step 5

Starting at the short end, roll pastry around the filling like a swiss roll. Cut roll into slices 3 cm thick.

Step 6

Place slices with cut side up on a lightly greased oven tray. Glace with beaten egg.

Step 7

Bake in a 200C preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until pastry is golden.
