In a medium sauce pot over medium heat, combine nut butter, pumpkin, coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Stir until smooth.

Pour onto a parchment paper-lined 8x8-inch (20x20cm) baking dish and smooth out evenly.

Sprinkle with sea salt for garnish (optional), cover and freeze for at least 2 hours, then switch to refrigerator for storage.

This Pumpkin Pie Dessert Hummus recipe uses real pumpkin puree and chickpeas, along with classic pumpkin pie spices, to make a simple, 5-minute dip!

Pumpkin Pie Dessert Hummus

can low sodium chickpeas (liquid reserved)

cinnamon

ginger

nutmeg

Drain the chickpeas, reserving the liquid (aquafaba) in a container. Rinse the chickpeas well (otherwise, your hummus may be too salty).

Add all ingredients except for the aquafaba to a blender or food processor. Blend on high speed, scraping sides occasionally, until the mixture is smooth.

Add 1/4 cup of aquafaba to the hummus mixture and blend well. If a thinner consistency is desired, add additional aquafaba, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

Serve with apples, ginger snaps, graham crackers, or pretzels.

Pumpkin pie hummus is my FAVORITE dessert hummus recipe so far. It's perfectly sweet, whips up in a blender and tastes just like pie, minus the crust!

Pumpkin Pie Hummus

pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)

maple syrup (not pancake syrup)

almond milk

vanilla

tsp ground ginger

clove

tsp baking powder

Place ingredients in the order listed in a Blendtec Twister Jar, OR a food processor. You can use a regular blender as well, but it might take several blends in order to get the hummus to be smooth.

Blend or process the ingredients for 30-45 seconds.

Use a spatula to scrape down the sides, if necessary, and blend again for another 30-45 seconds until the hummus is smooth.

This is delicious! My two year old son and I are eating it right now for lunch with crackers and green apples.  Thanks :)

It's good to know where to start. Added more pie spice and used part Birchbenders Maple syrup. Needed more almond milk for my son. Hope he likes it!

This was good. A little less sweet and more allspice-y than I’d like. I added 1.5T of monkfruit sweeter and that helped balance out the flavors. Next time will use pumpkin pie spice instead of the individual spices and see how it turns out. Looking forward to trying your other dessert hummus recipes. Thanks!

I would definitely dip ginger snaps in this. Or make little sandwich cookies with ginger snaps or graham crackers.
