Our rich, creamy blue cheese dressing recipe might just be the most decadent salad topper. It also makes an unbeatable dip for chicken wings, sliced vegetables, sandwich wraps and steaks.

Blue Cheese Dressing

mayonnaise

sour cream

chives

garlic powder

pepper

Worcestershire sauce

buttermilk

blue cheese

Torn salad greens

Stir ingredients together

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, chives, garlic powder, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in enough buttermilk to achieve your desired consistency. Gently stir in the blue cheese. Cover it and store in the refrigerator. Serve with salad greens. Editor's Tip: While some of the cheese will blend into the dressing, you should leave some crumbles whole for texture.

We tweaked for our individual taste by doubling the garlic and black pepper, and a bit more buttermilk for desired thickness. With an addition of 1/2 tsp of salt and a tsp of honey, it is our go to salads dressing, vegetable and meat condiment.  We simply cannot get enough - have been making it a quart at a time. Wonderful bleu cheese recipe! I added the juice of half a lemon and a a couple cranks of pink Himalayan salt... and I didn't have chives, but I plan on getting them today to add to it, I think that would be an added bonus... it's absolutely better the next day, you have to let the cheese soak into it! But just a great recipe...I also like a little more buttermilk, to thin it out a bit.

Awesome! I’m from Buffalo NY living in So California. I can’t find decent blue cheese dressing here??.  Yikes.....ranch with wings!  But how long will this last in the fridge (providing it actually lasts!)

This is the BEST blue cheese dressing I ever had, whether in a steakhouse or purchased from a store.  I make it every week and keep it in a mason jar.  Never had a better dressing.  I use the whole 5 oz package of good blue cheese crumbles, not just 1/2 cup.

This went over we'll with my entire family from grandpa down to the grand kids and especially my 6 year old since she helped make it.  Subbed fat free Greek yogurt for the sour cream and vinegar for the Worcestershire.  Will definitely make this again.

My sister and I eat blue cheese dressing like it's going out of style, but Cheesecake Factory and 2 mom and pop places have good blue cheese dressing. I can't seem to find anything comparable in the store. I tried this recipe with my fingers crossed. Needless to say, it was a hit! My mother was eating it with a spoon! Thank YOU, this is the ONE!

I will never buy bottled bleu cheese dressing again. This makes a rich dressing chock full of bleu cheese crumbles. Simply delicious. I like that I can control the amount of bleu cheese, too.
