Step 1

After your tofu has been drained and pressed, thinly slice it into blocks and place in a wide, shallow dish.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the mustard, oregano, basil, garlic, white wine vinegar, and 3 Tbsp olive.Pour over the tofu and refrigerate, covered, for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3

Crush the crispy fried onions with your hands or a fork. Transfer to a shallow bowl.Pour the flour into a separate, shallow bowl.

Step 4

Take out your tofu and drain any excess liquid (there won’t be a lot and that’s ok!)With one hand, LIGHTLY coat a tofu slice into the flour, transfer to your other hand and coat with the fried onions. You will need to gently press the onions into the tofu to make it stick.Continue this process until your out of tofu.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Step 6

In a frying pan, heat the remaining oil over medium heat.Once hot, add as many slices of tofu as you can comfortably fit (with room to flip). After about 3 minutes, or when you see the bottom sizzling, the tofu should be ready to flip. Flip it and cook the other side. Transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet and continue until they are all cooked.

Step 7

Put the baking sheet into the oven for 10 minutes and serve immediately!
