Crispy Pepperoni Chips

Lay the pepperoni slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. 

Remove the pan from the oven and soak up the excess grease by pressing paper towels against the pepperoni chips. Return the pan to the oven and bake an additional 2 to 4 minutes, until the pepperoni slices are very crispy. 

Serve as a snack anytime or use in place of crackers for dipping or for topping with your favorite cheese! They'll stay fresh and crispy for 1 to 2 days if you store them in an airtight container.

This is a great idea for a high protein snack.  please don't be negative because you can't judge your oven or your cooking abilities.   cook at 450F for 5 min. on each side and you will get a wonderful high protein snack that no one else thought of. BE sensible and blot with paper towels when necessary.

These are now a favorite snack.  My new oven runs a little hot, so I had to reduce the cook time a couple of minutes.  Came out perfect!  There is a lot of grease that cooks out of the pepperoni.  Keep a close eye on it while it cooks.  Thin sliced salami can be cooked the same way and makes another great low carb snack.

8 minutes and they are entirely black and burnt. Not cool at all. 425 is too hot and 8-10 minutes is too long for thin sliced pepperoni. Total waste. 

I have done this for years and i make them much faster by cooking them 45-60 seconds in the microwave ( layer about 5 paper towels on a microwave oven safe plate, place a single layer of pepperonis and cover with one paper towel) and viola!!  Best low carb snack ever!!  

if closed my eyes i would have thought it was crispy bacon!!!

HORRIBLE!  Burnt to a crisp @ 10 mins.  Even the dogs wouldn't eat them.  So burnt they fell apart as I tried to take them off the pan

Good, but I have a lot of the same comments that others have.  At 8 minutes, these are a little overdone for me, much less adding additional time.  They do end up spicier after baking and are a little overwhelming.  I too think that salami may be a good substitution, but it may need cutting into quarters to get crispy.  Great idea that I need to tweak a little.

Great low carb chip along with soooo many possibilities...salad topper, add to scrambled eggs, the ideas are endless!! Thank you George!!
