Na olivnem olju prepražimo drobno nasekljano čebulo in česen ter dodamo goveje meso, narezano na zelo majhne kocke (1cm x 1cm). Meso med praženjem posipamo s chilli začimbo ter pražimo nekaj minut. Nato dodamo na drobne koščke narezano korenje, obe papriki in paradižnika ter vse skupaj med mešanjem pražimo 2 minuti. Potem dodamo lovor, kumino, sladko papriko, sol in poper, premešamo ter posipamo z 2 žlicama moke. Takoj dolijemo 3 dl vode, premešamo, in med zgoščevanjem omake dodajamo pasirane pelate in paradižnikov koncentrat. Nato dodamo še koruzo in fižol ter chilli con carne kuhamo še približno 30 do 40 minut, da se meso zmehča. Če želimo, med kuhanjem dodamo žličko sladkorja ali košček ali dva temne čokolade ter ščep cimeta za posebno noto v okusu.
